4:00 that was a very young/green guava, not lilikoi/passion fruit. It does have alot of seeds, but they're edible & when ripe (yellow) the skin is edible (or rather more palatable) too. Great trail snacks when you can find them!
& while that was a cool story about a so-called "walking tree", that's not the same genus of trees. That tree is a Hawaiian Hala or frequently called "lauhala" by us locals.
& research has shown that the trees don't actually move, they have a firmly fixed main root. It's just the other "roots" that die off as he described. Fun way to look at things nature does, but not entirely true.

Oh thank you for the information! We are definitely not plant experts in any sense. But getting to be out and explore and see the amazing garden island was so incredibly rewarding

That looks like a cool little village and a place to live! Too bad the locals had to leave that area. Did you have to get a permit to hike this area? Now following number 590!

Yes this is a permitted trail after the first two miles. But so worth it if you can land one!
Thank you so much for the support, so appreciated ♥️

@@WanderJessica You were very lucky to have this opportunity to explore such an awesome area. I have the AT near me and glad that they don't require permits...yet. Always out on trail almost every weekend. Keep up the videos! This was fun to watch!

Great video, thank you for sharing! Looks like you guys had amazing weather; especially for February in Kauai. I hiked it in a rain storm in 2016...very challenging ;)
