Where are we? 1 Hour South of Sydney on the Old Hume Hwy. Berrima NSW goo.gl/maps/gP...
I installed a genuine provent 100 on my vw polo tdi. I also get some condensation also but I’m not concerned. I drained my reservoir/hose after the first 5300kms and got nearly 250mls of crusty oil out of it so yes they do work.
Brilliant idea.
cheers mate, exact question i had
👍
Perfect info. My ranger has only 20 thou on clock and it’s all condensation in my drain hose. No oil. Putting that back into sump would b a bad idea.
Hey Andrew, your video is really answer my question (after I watching MANN+Hummel Provent video).
Thank you
Youre Welcome
Connect it to the windscreen washer bottle.
Thanks very much!! Been pondering this very idea for a while
On a Isuzu truck diagram (can't remember if it was NPR or something else) the catch can drain goes directly to the sump. But that's a truck so dunno if it's different for bigger engines. Good info, I was gonna connect mine to the sump (4JX1 Trooper).
Yeah Factory installed. BUT as a Mechanic we dont want that crap (condensation/water) goign back into the sump hence an external drain hose!
Lawn mower fuel tap works for me.
👍
Andrew can I install a catch can on my 1HZ regardless,if I havn't got a turbo installed ?,regards Mark
Hi mate no need. Old School.
Would it be ok to run your drain hose from your catch can into a small overflow can with a breather on it .
cant see why not
Yeah but hang on.. if you have no catchcan then where does that condensation go? Are you saying the engine creates more condensation if you have a catchcan? If it was to drain into the sump then the same amount of condensation would be created...
If my zd30 o ly does long runs due to living in the country do i need a catch can?
ZDs can generally benefit from a proper catch can system
They can benefit from a proper catch can system
I got one on my 6.5 turbo intercooled chev optimiser but do I really need one ?
Relevant on Common Rail tech era onwards
Don't you have a shop in philippines?
Just Mobile guys there
Hi mate, do I need one if I’ve blocked the egr with an ecu remap? Isuzu 4JJ1
to keep the inlet dry and clean yes.
G'day Andrew, mate is it safe to install a catch can on 1hz with an aftermarket turbo non intercooled?
Hi mate. No need really. The old school Diesels dont really need them. Cheers
Do I need to install a catch can if I don’t have an EGR?
No need then
