Just a tip for anyone who wants to do this but doesn’t want to buy all the containers (they can get quite pricey). I just started buying a specific brand of apple juice that comes in glass bottles. So just look out in the supermarket for food that you buy anyways that comes in glasses that look nice. After a few weeks or months you have all your containers without spending extra money basically!! Also, I use chalkboard labels so I can change what goes in the containers if I need to. They also look really cute. Hope I could help someone out 🥰
Hey, Mia, whenever you are filling up your jars with a new package and have just a bit of leftover in it already, try to take the leftover out first, then fill the new purchase in it and on top put back the leftover. So that nothing gets wasted or gets bad. Also, as others suggested you should totally write expiry date on the jars. I saw in a video that the lady used masking tape/painter's tape to write the expiry date and stuck it on the bottom of the jar.
I use a water soluble marker made for glass (they’re actually not hard to find at all. Lots of chalk markers work too) to mark the content and expiration dates on my containers (which are actually plastic but it works the same on all smooth surfaces so that doesn’t matter). Would totally recommend for anyone reading this. You won’t need anything else like labels or tape, and it can be wiped off with a cloth or when you’re washing them so it’s easy to change, but it also still stays on good enough that it won’t just wipe off like a dry-erase marker (tested those before I found the glass marker).
@@choddle8427 I do that too. I like the way I can easily switch out labels if I change what's inside each jar. I personally use either chalkboard markers or grease pencils instead of specialized glass markers though
This 🙈 she didn't write any expiry dates on anything but feel like she may just be someone that does 'the sniff test' on things rather than go by dates (though I'm not sure if you could really do that with flour? 😂) just easier to write the dates on things imo but each to their own I guess!

Small critique(actually 2): heavy jars should be lower, is standard practice advice, good for furniture as well, because in time the shelf can bend, and second advice, when you refill, make sure the old product goes on top of the new refill, to get rid of it.

I'm not even joking - I could watch you organizing FOR HOURS!!! I just organized all my kitchen spices in glass jars with labels that are similar to yours! They look so cute!
Making your own labels is so easy! All you need is a printer, a word doc creator (like Microsoft word or even notepad) and some sticker paper to print onto rather than regular printer paper. I recommend it!

I love this channel and feel so blessed to have been able to watch Mia grow into this beautiful young lady!! Her videos brighten my day for sure!! Thank you Mia for all your content!!
Just a tip: for deep shelves I found dish tubs (like what busboys use..can be found on amazon) on each shelf work amazingly bc you can slide out your stuff like a drawer and not have everything get lost in the back
My partner is celiac so I relate so hard to the having 100 types of flour 😂 Also I would totally suggest using a glass marker to mark the containers instead of labels if your inventory changes a lot, like ours do. Not as pretty, but very useful as it’ll actually stick unlike regular markers but is water soluble to it can be removed with a wet cloth or when you wash them. I also use it to write the expiration dates on the containers.
@@abrienaSE I just bought it on Amazon but I've also seen them in bookstores. Mine is from the brand Stabilo, but there's plenty of options. It doesn't have to be a for glass specifically even, chalk markers for example work great too, so a paint marker could probably work too as long as it is water soluble 😊 Hope it helps!

when you refill your ingredients always try to put the new on the bottom and the old on top so you can use the rest of the old before it goes bad. like with chocolate chips if you are going to refill the container but you still have some left its good to empty whats already in the container into like a cup and then pour the new in and put the old on top.
Mia I'm pretty sure you can open the middle doors. I have a similar vintage cabinet. There are probably two metal sliders on each door on the inside, 1 at the top and 1 at the bottom. Top one you need to pull down and bottom one you need to pull up. Hope it will help you, if you haven't figured it out yourself yet. 🍀🍀🍀
So inspired now!! I have super deep pantry cabinets in my apartment and I lose stuff all the time! I’m thinking about just organizing things into baskets with labels so I can just pull them out and find what I need. I also just bought some cute tubs from Amazon that I’m gonna use under our bathroom sink. So many projects this weekend!!! Thanks Mia!
if your brown sugar wont stay soft, try a terracotta sugar saver. its just a little disk (usually decorative, shaped like a little animal or something) that you soak in water and put in the sugar. mine has worked great. but also just as important i think is using the sugar regularly tbh. obviously when i bake with it i go through a fair bit, and i also cook with it like a tbsp at a time so i go through a couple bags a year. even a sugar saver wont keep brown sugar soft if its not touched for ages which used to be my case, so i would just buy exactly what i needed from bulk barn instead of storing it in the house lol.
Hey Mia! We're doing a lot of gluten free cooking in my family due to coeliac disease and tried a LOT of flour. Since we tried the all purpose flour (president choice), we didn't tried anything else. Its texture most closely resembles recipes containing flour with gluten. We LOVE using it in cake, sauce, sweet and sour chicken and mooooooore. Thanks for your videos! Keep the hard work, we love your content and energy :)
I actually just switched everything in my pantry to glass jars too! I got a white water-based Sharpie to write on the jars. If you ever wanted to take off your smaller stickers, it works really well!
Yes! I use non-permanent markers made for glass too (it works for my plastic containers too - just a tip for anyone reading) to mark what the content is and the expiration date. I really wanted to be able to mark the expiration dates but doing it with labels seems like a hassle so I did some research and decided on glass markers. It stays on good enough for regular use (although I probably wouldn’t want to rub on the text hard) but can come off with a wet cloth or when you’re washing them.
I have some with a screw on lid and some where you have this like a clasp (You know these where old people had pickled veggies and fruits in, these with a clasp) and I also have rectangular tall plastic containers where the lid is pink with white stars on it. The plastic containers are for sugar and flour. Those with the clasp are for puffed spelt, rice and pasta, than I have a tiny one with a clasp for vegetable broth powder, those with the screw on lid are for muesli/cornflakes altho one with the screw on lid was sold as a bonbon jar. I put pink stickers on them where there are 3 lines to write on and I wrote on the middle row what they are used for. The cute thing is that these sticker have rhaspberries with a smiling face on it. I also decorated my jars (not the plastic containers) with stickers that look like cartoonish fruits (buth with no borders drown on the fruits) and I also have plastic containers in my fridge to keep stuff organized where I put those fruity stickers on since the pack had soooo many stickers in it. I also have a pink storage-solutuion inside of my cupboard that is ment to store powerd-bags/soup-bags wich has different parts to devide sections it wich is nice so I store in this pink think my backing surplies and ramen noodles haha. I also havr a big box with 6 different compartments for tea
Such a beautiful video. ♥️ Just a little tip, the Ikea 'korken' jars always come with white rubber rings. You attach these between the lid and the bottom to make the glass tight. Otherwise it's not really tight.
@@LostMatcha that's not true for many products. baking ingredients can lose their effectiveness. certain products can literally grow mold and make you sick and you can't see it. natural or organic ingredients (like a lot of what mia uses) actually do expire faster because they're made without all the preservatives you'd typically find which allow a product to last past the date.
Mia I have seen kitchens where the doors are removed so all their things show without the worry. you did a really great thing for the environment and for your completely functioning kitchen. congratulations 👏
Hey Mia, super random comment that you probably won't even see... But storing brown sugar perfectly air-tight is hard because you never know how much you're going to have! I have found that storing brown sugar with a marshmallow or two inside the container keeps it perfectly soft forever:)
Mia, you and your channel have been such a bright light in my life. Health issues requiring treatment at Mayo Clinic and the death of my son have happened recently. Your videos have always helped me smile!
So cute! I agree with the other comment I saw that I would love to see you DIY the middle doors to open ☺️ Also, even tho it'd be a bit more work, it might be a good idea if you wrote the expiration date or "last time refilled" date on the jars. Maybe stick a chalk-texture sticker on the back of the jar or on the bottom so you can write a new date every time you refill!
Hey Mia, sprinkles are already in a plastic container ! Get a clear bin or basket to put the small baking items in and you pull it out . Also your brown sugar , put a slice of bread in it and it will soften up , or buy a brown sugar bear , you put it in boiling water and let soak , then you dry off and place in a jar with your brown sugar ! Coconut flour , supposed to store in fridge after opening ! Loved your video. I have moved a lot so I organize things , I just bought $ store baskets and organized my small fridge , it keeps things in sections and I can find items easily
Mia, an episode on gut health would be greatly appreciated. I suffer from IBS, and my gut has caused me problems for decades. Issues ranging from sores in the mouth, to debilitating diarrhea. Even if I only discover one helpful thing, it will be a great. Every bit of information has the potential to add to our knowledge about our own situation, and will therefore, help. Rarely are our problems solved in one fell swoop, but rather, through examining our situation, and learning all we can about it.
Everything going smoothly… *suddenly a wild Mia appears just guessing which is which for baking soda/baking powder* ~ah yesss thats the tiny chaos Mia in every video I always wait for~ ♥️🤣
as a witch who stores my ingredients in decorated glass jars both for prettiness and functionality, I now have ideas for putting together my ingredients shelf so it's prettier than it is right now. As it stands I have a 5 tiered shelf with drawers, the two shelves below the main waist level table hold my art supplies, my grimoire and my reference books, the main table houses my altar, then the second solid shelf above it holds my dried ingredients and the top shelf my living plants, then there's a line of twine from the top plant shelf to the wall that I hang stuff to dry on before I shift it to bottles and jars. I now have various ideas to store my ingredients better (they last longer if kept in a dark place out of direct sunlight) while still retaining the prettiness factor.
I loooove your China cabinet! I’m using my aunts wicker cabinet as a pantry too! My aunt had a long skinny pantry with deep shelves before and she had drawer tracks and drawers added so she could see what was in the way back. I use lazy Susans. In case you end up using the other pantry for other things later :)
Last night I mentioned about how you are trying to figure out your body tolerance by adding and eliminating food groups to my friend who was suffering from certain food groups. @@SxdHxrmony pretty sure that Thieves is a trademarked name from Young Living. Was not meant as a joke but rather as a statement. Girl, you need a Cricut! Immediately!! They’re easy to put on with transfer tape or even just painters tape. My labels are an awesome bronze colour. The Cricut is one of my best investments, I use it constantly for all my crafty obsessions.
To keep your brown sugar from HARDENING all you have to do is put a slice of bread in with it and change it out every week or so and then NO MORE HARD BROWN SUGAR!! Pretty cool huh? Lol you can also do the same with cookies and they won’t go stale but it has to be changed every couple days, hope this helps Mia!❤️😇🙌

I love these videos. I’m trying to do the same for my own baking ingredients but still have some ways to go. I just noticed that you didn’t put the white rubber rings that go around the lip of the jar lids. I suggest placing those on your containers as it keeps an air tight seal on your jars and keeps your ingredients “fresher” for longer😊✨ Would be interested in seeing your food elimination diet since I have some gut issues myself 🙃
I used washable dry erase marker labels on all my containers. That way I am not stuck always using a jar for the same thing and I can also write the expiration date on the label as well instead of having to cut it out from the package and tape it to the bottom or back.
I once deep cleaned and organized my dad's entire kitchen. It took me 3-4 days to complete and I was exhausted by the end of it. But, it was so much easier to cook/bake around. Now I really want to do my own kitchen 😩
Brown sugar stays best in the freezer. It doesn't get those hard dry lumps in it. I just take mine out a little before I need to use it and it's fine. Nice job on the organizing Mia.
Love all your videos! IKEA has the roller things you can put in the deep cabinets so you can pull it out. Not sure what they are called but I want to get them for my daughter since she has deep cabinets and everything just gets stuck back there lol
Hey Mia! Put a slice of bread in the brown sugar to prevent it from clumping and hardening! Takes away the extra moisture to prevent that clumping from happening
TIP: Place the brown sugar in a bag and then put it in the container! This helps it not dry so much! Also, make the plastic overflowing out of the top/seal of the container to make it sealed completely :)❤️

This is specially important for people like me, vertically-challenged (5'). Pulling heavy stuff off a high shelf hurts!
For the labels on the small jars, if you cut a slit where it is bunching, you can fold it over itself and it might look better 🤷🏼♀️

@night fall wait yes!! Hope she sees this!
THAT GLUTEN FREE PIZZA CRUST IS UNREAL😍 I use it very frequently. Tastes like real pizza dough and bakes really well
I’m getting blue’s clues vibes from Mia writing on the sticky note with the huge marker…loving it!!🤣💖
I'm not even joking - I could watch you organizing FOR HOURS!!! I just organized all my kitchen spices in glass jars with labels that are similar to yours! They look so cute!
That bottle cleaning ASMR is soooo satisfying 😌
Making your own labels is so easy! All you need is a printer, a word doc creator (like Microsoft word or even notepad) and some sticker paper to print onto rather than regular printer paper. I recommend it!
Yes. Avery has some fantastic labels and the templates that match.
Lets be honest Mia is the big (or little) sister we all want
Or small... I am pretty sure she is younger than me 😅
Or small, since I'm 4 years older than her
Mila probably is an awesome sister, but i wouldnt trade my siblings for anything
I was just thinking about the great evolution of this channel, and of Mia!! From snack try-out videos with friends, now on to organizing baking ingredients in a china cabinet!! I love this channel and feel so blessed to have been able to watch Mia grow into this beautiful young lady!! Her videos brighten my day for sure!! Thank you Mia for all your content!!
Just a tip: for deep shelves I found dish tubs (like what busboys use..can be found on amazon) on each shelf work amazingly bc you can slide out your stuff like a drawer and not have everything get lost in the back
I do this too but with old tea trays. It works great on my spice shelf
You're smart! What a good idea!
For your deep cabinets, slide trays so nothing can get complete lost in the back. My dream pullout slide cabinet yes! Always inspiring Mia
My partner is celiac so I relate so hard to the having 100 types of flour 😂
Also I would totally suggest using a glass marker to mark the containers instead of labels if your inventory changes a lot, like ours do. Not as pretty, but very useful as it’ll actually stick unlike regular markers but is water soluble to it can be removed with a wet cloth or when you wash them. I also use it to write the expiration dates on the containers.
Hi 😍 love your tip, when can I get the glass markers? Sorry searched on amazon and only found paint markers?
@@abrienaSE I just bought it on Amazon but I've also seen them in bookstores. Mine is from the brand Stabilo, but there's plenty of options. It doesn't have to be a for glass specifically even, chalk markers for example work great too, so a paint marker could probably work too as long as it is water soluble 😊 Hope it helps!
I love that you are exploring foods that benefit your gut health! I am a dietitian specializing in low-FODMAP restriction/reintroduction for IBS and other GI issues, it is crazy amazing how much of a difference diet changes can make!!!
I love hanging out with Mia! Your kindness and genuine personality always brings a smile to my face. You’re such a ray of sunshine! I appreciate you SO much 🌸🌼
another video 🥰🥰🥰
i can't tell you how much you inspire me Mia love u so much ❤️❤️
when you refill your ingredients always try to put the new on the bottom and the old on top so you can use the rest of the old before it goes bad. like with chocolate chips if you are going to refill the container but you still have some left its good to empty whats already in the container into like a cup and then pour the new in and put the old on top.
I swear Mia is in a different kitchen every video! 😂
Yes I’m confused which house she’s in or if this is an old video
Me too even in this vid I swear she was in like three different kitchens haha!
She has two kitchens in the new house, lol. One downstairs and one upstairs.
@@jillypepper_ thankyou for this!! My OCD was killing me because i couldnt figure out where this was
I was literally panicking cause I was trying to figure out where she was.
I get this excited over organizing my pantry too. My husband says that refilling and repackaging the food is my “hobby.” I call it “curating” my food.
I think I saw her put one in 🤔 not sure if she had soaked it before
Oh God she is unbelievably cute. I love herrrr. She has such a pure, happy and soulful vibe. I wish you all the love in the world, Mia! ❤
Such a beautiful video. ♥️ Just a little tip, the Ikea 'korken' jars always come with white rubber rings. You attach these between the lid and the bottom to make the glass tight. Otherwise it's not really tight.
Miaaaa!! I just looked at the thumbnail and thought “Mia is so pretty😍 “ You are honestly the best!
Mia! Remember to put the expiration date for all the products on a piece of tape! This was beautifully done.
You should look up expiration dates and that they are just "best by" dates. They don't mean much
And lot numbers in case of recalls
@@LostMatcha that's not true for many products. baking ingredients can lose their effectiveness. certain products can literally grow mold and make you sick and you can't see it. natural or organic ingredients (like a lot of what mia uses) actually do expire faster because they're made without all the preservatives you'd typically find which allow a product to last past the date.
byeee the lowkey asmr part with the jars opening & washing was EVERYTHINGGGG
THIS WAS SO SATISFYING!! you need to make more renovation and cleaning videos!! they are so fun to watch!
She put the terracotta sugar bear in the jar. You soak it in water and it keeps your sugar moist and soft.
I needed this tip!! Trying it right now.
Thank you so much for this!!! ❤
Everything going smoothly…
*suddenly a wild Mia appears just guessing which is which for baking soda/baking powder*
~ah yesss thats the tiny chaos Mia in every video I always wait for~ ♥️🤣
I was like noooooooo 😅
Whenever Mia posts it always make my day!! Love your videos so much...I can watch your videos all day because they never get boring
as a witch who stores my ingredients in decorated glass jars both for prettiness and functionality, I now have ideas for putting together my ingredients shelf so it's prettier than it is right now.
She found the idea very useful and will try it. If you make a video about your process it would be very useful for many people. Lots of love Mia 💜
I LOVE watching organization videos so I’m so glad that your doing it!! Love you
MIA, you HAVE to use the lirika matoshi strawberry dress (kids version) for the flowergirl at your wedding!!
Mia, I'm pretty sure thieves is a part of an MLM company (Young Living) I would highly recommend looking into that company and reconsider supporting them and recommending them to your audience...
This a joke I don't understand ?
(I'm gonna just assume yes this was a joke,, since she said it's the name of a homemade recipe she DIY mixed together with chemicals at home herself.)
@@SxdHxrmony on the recipe, it showed “Thieves essential oil” as an ingredient so it must be a brand or something
@@annapruitt5546 got it thank you I didn't catch that
@@SxdHxrmony pretty sure that Thieves is a trademarked name from Young Living. Was not meant as a joke but rather as a statement. Personally I find supporting MLMs to be a negative thing, especially young living. For the record there's nothing wrong with using essential oils I'd just recommend getting them from a small business or something that is not an MLM company. Hope that answers your question. 🧡
This idea came out really cute! I love how all those jars are the same, but different sizes.
I am so happy Mia is FINALLY being more eco conscious and zero waste
I hated the buying everything from stores and in bulk for every video
Girl, you need a Cricut! Immediately!!
I made my own labels for my jars that are very similar to yours, except I used the cricut to cut each letter individually so there’s no problem with the labels laying flat. They’re easy to put on with transfer tape or even just painters tape.
My labels are an awesome bronze colour. The Cricut is one of my best investments, I use it constantly for all my crafty obsessions.
Pro tip: if it's something you don't use that much, use a marker pen that can be wiped off, and write the use by date on the bottom/top of the jar
She's the youtuber who doesn't run out of content to do. love it
It's because she changes houses so often she always have some renovating or cleaning to do.
Seeing your experience with the exclusion diet would be really helpful 😊 Any useful recipes or tips you have for people trying to adapt their diet for similar reasons would be great. I found your gluten free recipes in previous videos useful and motivated me to cook! I initially found it difficult to adapt to making things gluten free but still tasting as good as there gluten containing equivalent.
Tip: cut the labels, for the small jars, just above, and just below the text, removing the excess!! They will lay flatter and still stick :)
yes, was going to say that if you cut the excess and then create a few "slits" you can get the labels to lay flat!
I never comment on videos but I just have to say that I literally look forward to watching your videos every week. You inspired me to start sewing, and have now inspired me to organize my pantry! Thank you for being so down to earth and something to look forward to twice a week. If I’m having a bad day I know I can go back and watch a video I haven’t seen from a while back and relax! 💕
I love these videos. I’m trying to do the same for my own baking ingredients but still have some ways to go. I just noticed that you didn’t put the white rubber rings that go around the lip of the jar lids. I suggest placing those on your containers as it keeps an air tight seal on your jars and keeps your ingredients “fresher” for longer😊✨
Would be interested in seeing your food elimination diet since I have some gut issues myself 🙃
OBSESSED with the China cabinet 😍 Love how the glass is tinted, it’s so beautiful
Love organizing videos!!! And it's always better when it's Mia
I’m so ready for a whole house tour because your makeovers are so pretty!
Things that made me click fast is the organizing and the fact that it's Mia who posted it.
I used washable dry erase marker labels on all my containers. That way I am not stuck always using a jar for the same thing and I can also write the expiration date on the label as well instead of having to cut it out from the package and tape it to the bottom or back.
You have the same“kitchen aesthetic” of my Grams, but I’m totally here for it! 😂❤️
I once deep cleaned and organized my dad's entire kitchen. It took me 3-4 days to complete and I was exhausted by the end of it. But, it was so much easier to cook/bake around. Now I really want to do my own kitchen 😩
I love how your china cabinet’s stained windows makes everything inside look like potions ingredients! 💕
I can't believe I'm actually watching someone do this but I love her personality so much
Mia. Don't mix your old and new dry goods. They do expire eventually if you don't use it all. Always label the back or top withe expiration date
Brown sugar stays best in the freezer. It doesn't get those hard dry lumps in it. I just take mine out a little before I need to use it and it's fine. Nice job on the organizing Mia.
Just an FYI for people the Thieves Cleaner is from You've Living MLM.
Maybe look into them before you purchase.
I've been dealing with some tummy health issues, too, and I'd love to see some more of the recipes you use while baking!
She added the terracotta sugar bear (soaked in water) which preserves the moisture. Works great. :)
I've been organizing my life and it's not going very well, let me tell you... Mia, you're an inspiration ✨
Sending lots of love from Uruguay ♥️🇺🇾
I love Bob's Red Mill, it's local to us! He's such a nice guy, too.
I want to do that with my pantry but, maybe this summer
it all looks so good. just gotta say im loving the ASMR vibes in the video!
This turned out very cute!
Side note: Thieves is MLM garbage. 😮
I'm big into the anti-mlm content and you're right that Thieves can be MLM garbage but you can also buy non-mlm essential oils and make your own thieves. It's just a mixture of essential oils to make it. Hopefully that's what Mia is doing😊
@@MandaPanda0929 Yes, I suppose that is true. I know that YL has largely cornered the "Thieves market," so that is what I thought of immediately.
Mia - you have to get a Costco membership! It’s amazing, it’s like a whole new world of fun bulk items, clothes, electronics, and free samples!! It’s one of my fav places and think you would totally love Costco and benefit from the bulk buy items!!
Hi Mia! If you want an easier time filling your jars so you don't spill like with the cocoa powder you can get a Canning Funnel! They are wide funnels made for specifically for jars.
I recently did this exactly thing! I meticulously measured my space, organized what sizes I needed, and made labels. When I saw your labels were also all the same size I was like “oh noooooo”
Exact same thing happened to me 😰
Luckily you still managed to make it look great! 😍
