I actually totally don’t recommend ever getting a mattress off marketplace because of the chance of bed bugs. One of my good friends did this and ended up with a mess dealing with bed bugs and still is. I am so glad you didn’t get one just for the slight chance it did happen

I worked in the paint department at Home Depot. When people were picking out white I ALWAYS put it by the brightest white to compare it to. You can see the undertones of the different whites by comparing it. People thanked me so many times because of this! Whites matter. This happened to look good because it was blue white. Can’t imagine a yellow white. Ugh! But this was totally awesome.
I know I’m 3 years late but your comment made me curious too! I added it up and I got roughly $387. I say roughly because the paint cans were $6 each for the full cans and $3 for the half cans but I didn’t know which were full or not. She also didn’t mention the price for the nightstands, bedding, decor pieces or the desk so I would assume probably $500-$600

This video suggestion might be hard to accomplish so I imagine you'd have to do it over a period of time; but you should try to decorate a room with only free items and anything under $20 from FB Marketplace, Nextdoor, Offerup, etc. I know it's possible because that's usually the only way I get furniture and other things I need because even used items are still too expensive in many cases lol
I actually just did a fb marketplace room (my mom just moved here to be closer to me and I have a room there) I paid total $190 for two lamps, a bed frame (all wood) a set of 3 shelves, a basket and artwork, all Asian themed, I had two nightstands, and a mattress and box spring and a comforter set already, I bought pillows, drapes, and the window and shower rods as well as sheets for about $100 total from walmart, my room is the size of a 2 car garage (it's actually wider than the garage lol) there is space for a couch and chair i already have my eyes on a partial sectional i was told i can have the chaise lounge from, it it's completely doable... And now I have the all asian inspired room I always wanted

When charity/thrift shops open you should do a budget renovation around that theme. We have furniture charity shops in the uk, don’t know if you have them in Canada
They have been open for a while here in Ontario, where Mia is located. We LOVE our thrift shops (also called second-hand stores here but the same thing as "charity shops")

Well done. Do another re-vamp, renovate, design so inspiring! You know how people want to freshen up a room usually as a season changes, or holiday approaches? You could do little series for a room that could easily be changed with each season. Without spending a lot of extra money...say...pillow slip covers neutrals to jewel tone fabrics and throws. Window coverings can freshen.a room's appearance or get it ready for an occasion? Walkways, planters and front doors also can brighten and make it feel nice to come home to without spending a ton...just need to show people how. 😊
