I’m with you. I studied interior design and this has been one of my greatest complaints. I believe that your home should reflect your personality and not the trends and what some decorator thinks. I believe that a good decorator should take your ideas and then guide you through the process so that it still reflects who you are. When everyone’s home begins to look the same because of the trends, that’s when I walk away.
I feel like Mia is genuinely one of the kindest and purest souls, your parents did a great job raising you. We need more influencers like you in this world.

I couldn’t agree anymore. From the first video of hers that I watched I subscribed because I could instantly tell she was something special. The world would be such a beautiful place if we had more Mia’s and mama maples💕 you can just tell her parents let her embrace her creativity and liveliness. This kitchen looks so fun and unique, I feel like kitchen renovation nowadays are always so similar, but this one really feels special. I think the butterflies, the flowers and the pale green colour give it a "fairy" kinda vibe and I'm living for it

whenever mia starts doing a renovation, the pieces individually doesn't look that tempting, when she shows the final result, i am always blown away by the end result. it always looks super super fabulous cant when describe how beautiful and perfect it actually looks at the end.

Mia is the most subtly extra person. This kitchen is very much my vibe. I love it! I already bought some really pretty knobs for a kitchen in a house I won't be able to buy for years.
Mia really could be an interior designer - she's great at making unusual and quirky picks (three different handles? Butterflies? Flower backsplash?) That end up coming to together so well and really work into the aesthetic of the house. Which btw I feel like the aesthetic of this house should be described as fairytale-core if that's a thing!

Wow....I'm just in awe of so many things here. Mia and her family are taking on renovations that I'd never dare dream of doing myself. And the positivity they exude while doing it is just totally inspiring. If it were me and my family attempting this enormous task, I would not want any anyone to see how insanely angry I know we'd all be at eachother. 😂
The green accidental cabinets are so nice and aesthetically pleasing. The butterfly handles really compliments them!!
Mia and I might have DRASTICALLY different design aesthetics, but this is really a great kitchen update and it fits the rest of the space really well now. I'm really curious what countertops you'll do when you get around to changing them. Also a SMEG appliance set would work wonders on the kitchen which I'm assuming will be the appliances later down the line.
They're cool for anesthetics but perform poorly, especially for the price. They're manufactured by the same company that makes budget appliances in China. Samsung and other companies make good quality and good looking appliances.

@@pirate89RAWR I can’t speak on the quality of SMEG specifically, but just in general it’s entirely possible for a company to be behind several different brands in different qualities. They can even be produced in the same factory too and still be wildly different quality. It depends on things like the quality of the materials, how strict quality control is and how large error margins they allow etc. which all will be different for each of the brands they own.
And also something being produced in China doesn’t automatically mean something is bad quality, Samsung produces things in China too.
It’s amazing how you managed to do a vintage vibe that also looks modern and new ! It really opens up the space :)

@@amberfrazier575 For what I can tell you, there is a LOT of misinformation concerning Ukraine, provided by russian news and its adepts. The propaganda works wonders and it is quite hard for us to dismentle all the fake news that exists. Some news are definitely more reliable , like the guardian, but criticism is still needed. European news are always a lil bit late compared to ukrainians of course. And most of russians soldiers are indoctrinated and brainwashed into thinking they are saving Ukraine rn.
For now the russian army is targetting civilians : they destroyed a museum, attacked a childcare center,...
And things like that.
@@amberfrazier575 for short: Russia invaded Ukarine hoping for getting ahold of the Ukrainian government to overthrow it. It didn't work, we're fighting back, but the russian army goes off the rails more and more, targeting civilians, hospitals, maternity hospitals, schools, etc. We don't know much for sure free from propaganda, but what we do know is that we didn't fucking need saving, and now our children, families and friends are dying.

Sometimes she finds out through the media but she always does her own research afterwards and makes sure to educate herself on it before speaking out and spreading awareness. At least she actually talks about it and tries to help, because not all influencers are like that.

I've been watching this channel for awhile and have to say, it is such a breath of fresh air to see how much time you spend with your family. I'm an only child and lived at home until I got married at 29. I never took the time I spent with my family for granted (even though I felt slightly annoyed sometimes haha). At times I felt like I should be out with friends or should be more "independent" and have my own life. At the end of the day though, I loved spending time with them and am so thankful because one day, I won't be able to do that. Mia, you are one kind human and I love the relationship you have with your family. XOX

Mias style is so fun. It's like a fuax retro with a sprinkle of cottage magic. Like you talking about how your grandmas gave you those pieces made me realize this is how a grandmother's kitchen looks when she is young. Not in a rude way! It turned out so well! I love, love, love the flower tiles. They are so unusual.
Love your kitchen make over. Adore the backsplash-so worth every minute of work. I also did a diy of my kitchen changing all of the doors from the formica euro doors of the 80s with the wood strip. We opted for shaker doors with euro hinges and 4glass front doors that had been solid. Then i wall papered the inside rear wall of the glass front cabinets. The wallpaper matches the heavy cotton fabric upholstery of our swivel stools . I tiled the counter with cobalt blue porcelain tiles to make it heat resistant and get the color i wanted. The island is navy, as is 1 upper wall with the lower half white wainscoting. We scraped off the popcorn ceiling too and added crown molding. White and navy looks so clean. The re-do was so worth it.

Mia I come from a place where we have earthquakes and it’s common to use blu tack to stick things to shelves so they don’t fall - not sure if it’s called blu tack everywhere but the putty stuff you use to stick posters to your wall as a teen. It would be a good idea to use that on those beautiful antiques! I love the kitchen, it’s so my style, my favourite parts are the backsplash and butterfly handles
“Blu Tack” is a brand name for it but it’s basically become the name for all of those like sticky reusable putty things. I haven’t heard another name for it so as far as I know that’s what it’s called in all English speaking countries. I’m also from a region with lots of earthquakes but I haven’t used blu tack in so long, it just sticks to like everything and is a pain to clean off. We just push things to the back of the shelf unless it’s something very sturdy that can survive a fall. Tbh, we don’t even push back all the fragile stuff but luckily we don’t get many big earthquakes. Our tv is definitely gonna smash if there’s a big earthquake though so let’s hope we don’t get one soon because we just got that tv and it was expensive.
@@rachelcookie321 ah yes I definitely don’t put it everywhere - it ruined the paint in my room as a teen. there’s not always much you can do about tvs in a quake, I hope you don’t have one any time soon!! I had a lava lamp smash onto my carpet once and ever since that clean up everything has been stuck down with blu tack 😂
