      Awesome man! Congrats on the new bike. We love riding the Nishiki when we go camping. We affectionately refer to it as "The Campfire Bike". I'm not sure if you have watched all of our videos on the Nishiki but we have done some upgrades on it. Thanks man and hope you enjoy your new bike.👍

    Bought a Nishiki Pueblo today. As a casual rider, I'm looking forward to having it for years. My previous bike was a Walmart Schwinn Sidewinder that lasted 10 years. It all depends on usage & care!

      We named this bike the campfire bike because we like to have it with us when we are camping. Great bike for us after our subtle upgrades. We like it when we camp do to the reliability and the good on and off road feel, plus both of us can ride it. Have you seen the 1X7 and other upgrade videos? Congrats and make sure you subscribe and turn on notifications because we have some more upgrades and reviews coming up on the Nishiki in a month or so. 🚵

    Just got this bike as my first one since I was 13! Now I’m 20 and after taking it around the neighborhood a few times I think it’s a good one. I wish I knew enough ab bikes to know what all the sounds it makes because they scare the crap out of me sometimes lol. Taking it home from dicks was a bit of a struggle and I might’ve done something to it and that always plays when I’m hearing it make noises. Good work on the video and nice trail!

    • @WOLFTICKVIDEOS
      @WOLFTICKVIDEOS  2 роки тому +1

      🤣 noises scare you and me! Lol Thanks for the comment brother. The nishiki is not a bad ride at all and we have upgraded it as well. Your noises may be the front derailleur, the thingy that shifts your front 3 chainring gears.I believe Dicks offers a 1 time tune up when you buy a bike from them, check up on that for sure.

  • @OrbGeopolitix

    I had a Nishiki Pueblo for about 2 years, and I really enjoyed riding it. Of course, shifting isn’t that great when compared to the bike I have now (Giant Talon 2), but in my opinion, it is a great mountain bike for beginners, and I would totally recommend buying one 👍

    Build for looong rides back in the 80s and 90s.

    I bought this bike at Dick's,I only rode it once on a paved road, never even hit a bump and noticed something felt off with the back wheel. So I grabbed the wheel and wiggled and sure enough there was an issue with the bearings. Yup! The Pueblo makes a great looking commuter bike I’d say! But like you say ... it gets you on the trail for around $300. I know I’m not able to upgrade my Raleigh to disk breaks because of the year it is, but maybe the Pueblo is upgradeable! That brake sound makes me crazy!
    How’s the GT coming along?? Guess what... I still haven’t received my repair stand yet!!

      @xanderzumwalt917 4 роки тому +1

      Something like the Schwinn boundary can be had for less money than the pueblo and three times the features The pueblo is an absolute rip off for the price at $300 I mean it has a quill stem cheep rim brakes single wall rims and the front fork is that that I would expect on a bike $100 or below.

    • @hermantorres3169
      @hermantorres3169 4 роки тому +1

      Yeah.. the availability right now of the Pueblo is spot on. And if you have nothing else to ride it will definitely ease your itch of cabin fever and get you on the trail. But anything this price and lower even if it has more features is definitely a work in progress to upgrade.

    I guess you are noticing the difference in reach, this bike is bigger, so reach is longer. Which gives you more room, and can have more relaxed position. But the steep headangle and the outdated cockpit is not great, but atleast you can get a ide ahow a bigger bike feels, but it will still be very different to a bike like my G1. But the increase in stability is due to the wheelbase, weight.

    Hi. Very nice review. I have one. Have had it for probably 5 years or so. My goal is to start using it for exercise, no real rough terrain, but 50/50 trails and pavement. I ran over the back wheel with my truck....surprisingly I only warped the rear wheel. Could you possibly provide a recommendation for replacement? 26”. Would replacing both front and back be financially/performance more beneficial. I had no idea how difficult it would be just to find a replacement online. Head spinning. Thanks in advance!

      Hey brother, here is an affiliate link for a rear wheel 26" it is a QR which would work and I believe it is a v brake. @@WOLFTICKVIDEOS So I could not find the affiliate link, but I just got a wheel from the local bike shop here, 70 bucks, they switched everything over. Got it together, and now it seems like the bottom bracket is making a stress sound with down pressure on the left pedal. I am thinking I am going to order the Neco that you used in your upgrade video as I know it will fit, and try to keep all the additional parts that are already on it. • @WOLFTICKVIDEOS
      @WOLFTICKVIDEOS  3 роки тому +1

      The left gear shift is a friction shifter-it controls the front derailleur and adjusts the chain on the 3 chainrings when climbing or cruising. The largest chainring is for going fast, the medium chainring is for a mixture of the two and the smallest is when it is time to climb. You want to keep it on the one of the three chainrings up front while riding and change the rear freewheel only.

    Chain slap will happen even with a clutch on a proper rear derailleur, but not as bad as on this bike but wrapping the chainstay with a inner tube works great it dampens the noise too. But for bikes with cnc machined parts use a tape that sticks to it self I for got the name, but several videos on i. It's a 3M tape,i want to buy it, I will try to find the name agian. • @WOLFTICKVIDEOS
      @WOLFTICKVIDEOS  4 роки тому

      Well it's all in how you look at it. We like this bike for when we go camping. We ride it on light trails and pavement. I think it is a solid bike that looks good and shifts better than most of the budget bikes that we have tested. Our Pueblo has become part of the family, but that's the emotional thinking. As far as logical thinking goes the Ozone Fragment from Academy is $199 and it is not bad. But for what your going to use it for it will be fine. For the $80 dollars difference I don't think it would be worth the time to take it back and then find a Fragment. I know this probably did nothing for you, but I like both bikes mentioned and could go either way. Make sure you check out our other Pueblo videos, you might like some of the upgrades. Thanks for commenting.

      Man we love that bike but if you compare it to something like the Ardor just $20 or $30 more than not so sure. The best part of this bike is that you can get it in different sizes. We love ours especially after some upgrades and usually use it for a campsite bike. If you are not planning to take it on anything crazy it should be just fine. Can't give it a number without having a certain criteria to score it by, but for around $300 dollars it's acceptable just not exceptional. Thanks man

      Hey Jack and Dan, were not in with any companys but... I did some searching and was looking at different price points, now for what you want its looking like $379.00 at the cheapest.The bike will not become available on amazon till july but heres some info. The bike has 7 speeds and is considered a 1x7 drivetrain. So a little easier when it comes to shifting, but that doesnt mean you cant upgrade to a simple single speed. Bikes companys these days upsale the single speeds so trying to find a cheaper one is gonna be hard. But anyways it has a 26" wheel diameter and its tires are 4"! Very fun im sure from snow to sand. It does have mechanical disc brakes which i recommend simple and efficient.Its got a threadless headset which basically means the whole front of the bike is upgrade ready of you wanted to go down that hole. Oh and the frame size is an 18" so it will fit riders most likely from 5"5-6'3". Guys appreciate the question and if yall ever get a bike in the near future i hope to see it showcased in one of your awesome vids! Thanks Jack and Dan:):):):):)www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GZSMDR8?pf_rd_r=K6C36FMWQGNMKAXJE5JK&pf_rd_p=edaba0ee-c2fe-4124-9f5d-b31d6b1bfbee

    You made some great points, but the thing about 26er wheels anndlarge frame combo, that's not the case, it's not because it's 26er it's cus frame is longer, so wheelbase is longer, making it more stable, but steering will still not be optimal, cus steep head angle will make front wheel wander, and the the stem makes the steering less direct, but puts more weight on the front wheel than a short would, a longer reach, shorter stem, and slacker head angle would be better, but that requires a stronger frame. So wishing for that for a bike like thst is unrealistic. You made many great points, yea the grips, shifters, yea I had the same issue but I had a kids bike with even narrower grip, but grips are way too narrow on the bike you got there, rear deraileur, the shifting problems is caused by weak cage spring, atleast on eof the causes I guess.

    • @WOLFTICKVIDEOS
      @WOLFTICKVIDEOS  4 роки тому

      Well i think since the wheels are 26 theres less area when turning and climbing therefore resulting in less to have to respond to. And when i do it makes it that much more agile with such a small area to move.

    • @mtbboy1993
      @mtbboy1993 4 роки тому +1

      @@WOLFTICKVIDEOS it won't make the bike more agile, short chainstay makes rear end easier to initiate a slide, steep head angle makes steering wobbly, bu actual agility, that wont make big difference, if you try a tandem, that lacks agility. but of course a bike that is too big for the rider won't be agile.
      also there are those bikes that make steering hard, cus they got things wrong with how the fork is so when steering, bike wants to continue to steer you into a crash and you have to work hard to keep it where you want to, this is too complicated for me to explain now, there are many videos explaining, steering axis/head angle,trail,offset......
      there is a common misconception that long wheelbase is not agile, and that you will struggle to get around a sharp turn, that's not the case, I know for sure, that's logic, but also i have a bike with such geo, sizing, and it handles great.
      also, tyre contact contact patch, won't make much difference on rolling resistance or agility, unless it's low pressures, and huge difference in contact patch size.
      but of course there are tyres that want to transition to mid to side easier, but having a tyre that is too eager to change direction is not desirable for me.

      Hey cam, sadly there are no disc mounts on the frame or forks.:( I will be looking at some upgrades here pretty soon as far as simplifying things in the drivetrain dep. No problem man LOL, they are the controls to the front derailleur to adjust what the best type of gearing you are in for what kind of riding you are doing. Alot of climbing? Then shift the left side shifter all the way down to the ground and that will be the lowest gear set. Mountain/Trail? Then you want to be in the 2nd chainring, right in the middle. This will be a smooth transition from climbing and descending. Now Road? Going fast most of the time with little climbing, shift up like you are pulling the throttle. This will make it to wear you will have to peddle less but it will create more resistance making you go faster. Man I got that new video done and should be up Tuesday morning! Is this bike suitable for commutes as well as trailing?

    • @WOLFTICKVIDEOS
      @WOLFTICKVIDEOS  4 роки тому +1

      I would say its more apt to commuting than light trail use. The gearing is fine when it comes to road stuff and the design is tough and simple. The frame does weigh a bit but, this bike with some flashers and road tires. I think it would settle in just fine. Thanks for the question man. It is our camping bike, travel on the road all the time with it to everyone of my fishing holes.

    • @WOLFTICKVIDEOS
      @WOLFTICKVIDEOS  4 роки тому +2

      Well i think thats two questions!LOL light trails the forks are fine and as far as the hanger goes, im pretty sure it doesnt have a hanger, its welded on the bike. But we have so much bikes i can let you know for sure man, maybe this weekend.:)

    What the heck is this? The classic Nishiki Pueblo Comp with the Chromoly frame is worth it. Walmart style bikes with a steel frame aren't worth hearing about.

    • @WOLFTICKVIDEOS
      @WOLFTICKVIDEOS  3 роки тому +1

      I have never heard of the Pueblo Comp. Is the Pueblo Comp more like the Pueblo or the Colorado? We only have one steel frame bike from Walmart, it is called Schwinn Sidewinder. We are actually looking to make the Sidewinder into a Dirt Jumper in a few weeks or so. This Nishiki Pueblo from Dick's Sporting Goods in this video is also a steel frame which a lot of people actually prefer. We use it for our camp bike and it has a decent size following which is indicated by the 20.5K views this video alone has. Welcome to Wolftick Videos and thanks for watching.
