One thing that I have learned in my years of owning bikes and what's demonstrated in this video is that these bikes are built with the lowest spec possible as far as parts go. They're not really made to take a beating that a downhill trail will have on a mountain bike. That reminds me of the last mountain bike I bought. A serious shoreline seems to be a good beginner bike. In this price category. You got hydraulic piston brakes and 2.25 wide tyres, this is important. The drivetrain ist a cheap one, but it will work for the first rides. And you can upgrade anything on this bike if you want. With the right headset you can even fit a tapered fork on to this bike.

It's been through years of abuse and it still works like a charm, unlike this thing which won't even last for a month of regular mountainbiking
I was thinking the same thing, but for the late 80's!
@@jokermtb same here but the 70's!
@k.w. thats not true at all i myself destroyed a few bikes in my day and i certainly saw my friends do the same. that was in the 70's
nope. a 90s bike would have been made better. even a fully rigid would be better
Love how you called out for Lewie half way down that second section as if you thought that was the end haha! Love the content!
Would you test the serious shoreline? Would be interesting to see if it survives. Its a bit more expensive tho. 🙂
You wanting one is obviously the reason you asked, id spend a couple extra 100 on a second hand bike. The whole point of these videos is to test the cheapest bikes available, that bike was like 4/500 last time i saw it so it would be a real waste of money.
@@t_to_the_homschen7270 Hi I already bought the serious shoreline. I paid 475€ with shipping. I would have liked it to buy a better a bit more expensive MTB for like 200€ more but I really wanted a 3 by drivetrain. And all more expensive MTB just have a 1 by drivetrain. So I bought this bike just for its drivetrain because I like it to ride fast.
Would you say it would be worth it to spend 210€ for a air fork? Or is the bike to cheap so that it's not worth it? Thanks for a answer. 🙂
@@mad-pit3832 I would like to see him testing it because I would like to see what I could do with it. 🙂
@@loveistheanswer5924 if you Plan to own it longterm An airfork is an worthy upgrade. I would definitly spent it. I'm riding a ghost kato 500 le (cheap hardtail). I upgraded everything, 12 speed drivetrain, airfork with 160mm travel, 4 pot maguras with 203mm and 180mm rotors, dropper post, durable endurorims and so on. I spent in total 2000€ for a hardtail how I wanted it. Now I can shred it hard and nothing brakes.
Good job filming Lewi!! Sam did pretty good as well. The bike survived (ish) Sam, so must be good.
Just like every video, I LOVE how positive you always are. NEVER loose that =)
You've only just started riding and I'm already in stitches 🤣 sounds like you're stood by people laying old school train tracks hitting the pins in, I'm dying 😂😂😂
That honestly just sounds like someone banging on an empty pot with a spoon.
The noises 😂😂😂😂was terrified for you 😂😂👍
You're the fuckin' man, Sam. You've inspired me to be best rider I can be (I just ride xc/trail/singletrack)
The videos are insanely good 💚🤘
We all start somewhere, right now i have a good DH bike but because i'm a chonker i can't really do anything big on it since the rear shock's spring isn't enough, i will eventually buy a 650x3.2 and go for some serious jumps
This channel is slowly becoming my favorite. Sam love your energy. 🙌
My main question is how this chain was still on the chainring after all this bumps? I’ve spent so much time trying to fix this problem on a street bike, lucky i’ve finally found out what narrow wide is
The front derailleur keeps it from coming off…..
Those type of videos are my favorite of yours. Keep ‘em coming.
I wish I could send Sam the cheapest bike on Amazon I bought in Canada. it’s much worse than that.
Hey Sam, thanks for another SHREDAAAAAAAGE Session and cheers for making me crack up laughing when I found out you were getting towed by Lewi up the Mountain ✌🏼Out
Its so ridiculous 😂😂😂 i love this guy
Old jukey got skooled on fly with pilgrim on board..jukey got well & truly sent...another magical moment on a mountain cheers sam😄
Glad someone has finally done something like this. Love this type of original content
I have never in my life up until now have I heard a bike go down a hill and sound like someone beating on a tin can with a stick... LoL I'm guessing it's the shocks bottoming out and the Spokes crying for dear Mercy hah love the video mate
I fully love this video
So un snobby and shows that mounting biking can be more inclusive and accessible to people on a lower income
Obvs the bike is not designed for the most gnarly riding but looks like you can have lots of fun on it :)
So good! Love Sam’s constant positivity- “can’t be deterred” as bikes trying to kill him 😂
3:08 beautiful view I must admit it
the sound of suspension fork constantly bottoming out....sheeesh
Oh man, the wheels taco'd several times and I thought you were going to blow out the shocks on every little jump. Bravo Pilgrim!
OK, So first off, you gained a new sub! It's obvious that you can ride, I loved the challenge. Great Vid!
Sam stops halfway and I'm like oh good I hope he checks for loose bolts 30 seconds later, nope he didn't and he's not going to stop 😂😂 awesome 👍😎
Great review Sam, just bought this bike for a 2 week trip to Morzine, held up really well after hammering the Pleney black. I'm currently laid up in hospital with a ruptured spine, i think it might have something to do with the shorts I wore 👍
That sound dose not sound healthy 😅but sam ain't complaining
This is like the funniest thing ive seen in awhile. Same is so positive about everything its funny to watch him on this.
You and your bro do fantastic work. Love the angles and slow mo. So fun to watch
Thanks a lot!
❤😂❤
Cheaper prices to much noise,
But, better than walking.
This is my local Trail. The fact Sam went down that on this bike is insane, this video doesn't do the gnarls any justice, it is true gnarlsville, tops to you Sam.
I love when you do reviews on cheap bikes it’s very entertaining seeing if it survive or not
One of the funniest videos I've watched in a while! Great stuff
I haven't laughed this hard in a long time dude;;; !!! Amazing when the bars twisted I lost it bro.
This was hilarious 🤣🤣 some proud kid will be in school telling his mates he has a proper DH Duke full sus now!!

Sam, you should create more videos like this!! Call it Torture Test Tuesdays or something XD
But seriously, Keep this content train coming!!!!!!!!!!
with this bike you are one with your trail you feel every stone every bump and every wave is better
Gold medal job of editing for Louie. Made it look like you had about 30 camera peoples filming the antics.
Scott is really an inspiration for people who also have Down Syndrom that you can still be a great mountain biker.
Sam with any bike. " this bike is working sooo well" amazing.
Love the no quit, had me smiling start to finish. Nice one mate
You have to appreciate the cinematography in these videos its incredible
The black trail is like blue trail at my bikepark
Haven't laughed that much in a while!! Loved the brake adjustment!! LOL!!!!!!
