  • Connecting your smartphone to the new 2024 Yamaha Gen 4 MT-09 dash / communication control unit (CCU) via Bluetooth is proving tricky to some new owners including ourselves when our demo bike first arrived in. So after installing the Apps - Greg talks through how to connect the My Ride App and the Garmin StreetCross App to the CCU which will allow access to GPS navigation, telephone, audio player etc.

    Love the bike but the connectivity is a big, fiddly disappointment for me. I don't even have access to the delivery inspection information. No service book. It's all online somewhere. I'll hopefully get it sorted out when I take it in for 6 week/600 mile first service.
    And another thing, the bike appears twice on my android phone when searching for bluetooth devices...weird

      Don't worry, japanese brands sucks same in this area. It is a long time "trend" in auto-moto industry where they are pushing unfinished and unpolished technologies and functions and are not even able to properly support them and provide updates, because of cost savings.

    Can you use waze navigation via your phone on the 2024 mt09?

      No, only Street Cross. Huge dissadvantage is that Street Cross have to be opened (screen on) to use it on Yamaha MT-09 display unit.
