Just found this tutorial. Don’t know how I’ve missed it. Love this quilt, even though these are not my colors. Love the restful feel of it. The border was a wonderful choice. It was also restful and beautiful and the colors were perfect. I also like the more modern feel of this quilt, without being stark. Thanks for a great tutorial.
I love it, I bought this book this past summer and have yet to make Dominique. You made it look pretty easy, just might take on that challenge. Thank you April, I love all your 3 yard quilt tutorials. I too love Donna Robertsons pattern books and the kits???? Geez I love the whole thing about Fabric Cafe.
I've just watched about three videos on FC patterns and it makes it so much easier as you go through each step. I;'m on my first FC pattern and am struggling to get the directions! They aren't as simple as I thought. I've watched their videos for over two years and yet, still confusing actually doing it. These are so helpful. Love your cats and dog too. I have a coffee and cream cat too 🥰🥰
I am glad they are helpful. I do love these patterns. 😀. I always look at the pictures which helps clear up any questions I have on the written directions.
@@aprilscraftroom The diagrams on this pattern aren't very clear. I think they squash too many directions in so it's not easy to read. I am writing it out in my own words once I figure out what's what! I thought it'd be easy as it's Byzantine Door.... But yes, your videos are really helpful so thank you 😊😊
Darn you anyway! Lol lol I already bought 2 of the 3 yard books by Donna Robertson. I just now bought 4 more, including Modern View so I can make this quilt! I've decided to swirch to easier to make quilts as I get closer to 70, I want to enjoy making easier quilts instead of complicated quilts that take forever to complete & cost a lot to have them quiltex by a long armer.
Love your tutorials, and I get a kick out of your kitty needing your attention while you're filming. It's like he knows it's time for his cameo...LOL! Keep making these videos.
I really love your tutorials using the Fabric Cafe books and patterns. I'm a person who needs to see what to do before I tackle it. You make it to easy to see the construction of the quilts. Thank you!!
You are so welcome! I am the same way - very visual. That's why I always have 2 - I have the first one that is a trial and a second one where I know what to do. LOL And thank you for watching. April
I am catching up watching your tutorials and as of today, this is my favorite of all your quilts...I think it is because your choice of fabrics are amazing, along with this pattern. Great Job! Keep the tutorials coming. BTW, I love your initial description of the Q-Zone. I just wish I had room for it. But it is mesmerizing watching you.
@ Lynn Cameron - She didn't make a mistake; that's a "creative design element". 🤩. But yes, I'm guessing that's one mistake will want to take the time to unpick and correct.
That is hilarious! I didn't even see it. I'm not ripping out any stitches though. LOL. Thank you for watching that long to see my boo boo. I'm going with @newbeequilter it's a creative design element. April
It’s very pretty. I do wonder tho what people do with all of these three yard quilts. They aren’t large enough to cover a bed so what are they used for? It’s an honest question....
It is a very good question. The great thing about these is that you can make more blocks to make the quilt bigger so that it will fit a bed. You can use the three yard quilt as a lap throw as well. I like to add multiple borders to make the quilts bigger too. And they are the perfect size for a child. Because they are usually easy to make they are a good option for charity quilts, as well. Thank you for watching. 😀 April
@@aprilscraftroom Thank you April! I appreciate you taking the time to answer my question! I think I’m gonna give this one a try and make enough blocks to make a queen size. Happy Quilting!
I make a lot of quilts and none of them would cover a bed. Most of my quilts are gifts, about 60" square, meant to snuggle on the couch with, or to serve as an extra blanket. Three-yard quilts would be great for charity quilts, especially for children, which is what I like to make.
I am not worried about it. I didn’t even see it. LOL. But one of my watchers pointed it out and I have since fixed it. :-). Thank you for watching. April
I appreciate you mentioning it. And I always want to know if someone finds a mistake and never feel like you will hurt my feelings if you find an error. :-). April
I love the pattern , but the striped fabric wouldn’t have been my choice of fabric. Stripes go well for binding, but not for a large block.I would have chosen a darker fabric with a light print. Your patriotic quilt would have popped by using a red fabric instead of blue stars. Most people start explaining a quilt from the beginning and graduate to sewing. It confused me as to what you were trying to explain. Better luck next time.
I think you would have liked your patriotic quilt better if your fabric three were solid or nearly solid. The blue with stars is too busy to work in that quilt.
I thought the same thing. Was thinking a solid dark blue would look great. However, it sort of reminds me of a Kaffe Fasset quilt the way it is. Someone will love it as is!
Just love your videos
Thank you.
Beautiful love it❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you! 😊
Nice work, like your color selection.
Thank you very much!

I bet the patriotic quilt would have shown more contrast if the “flower” was maybe white? I love this pattern.

Ioved the quilt though I got a little lost in the directions. Wonderful that kitty was such a great help. I also have two that are helpful. 🐱🐱😍💝

It's the Polk a dot material that is reason other two fabric gets lost
ah... Thanks for the tip
Biggest help was seeing how easily directional fabric worked. I have some i wanted to use with this. Does it work as well in as fabric 1?
I need to look at the pattern again because I don’t remember.

Wonder if you corrected the layout for second row. It’s reversed?
Yep. You found it. Once you see it you can’t not see it. LOL. Thank you for watching.

It's the best way! LOL. Thank you for watching.

I started that one......then realized I had directional fabric! 😣I put it aside till another time.
Yeah - that would be a tough one. I got lucky I didn't start with directional.

Would have been more helpful if you had showed cutting those strips and sewing them together.
I will include that next time. Thank you for the feedback.
