  • The University of Bath (UK) is introducing a new Continuing Professional Development (CPD) course to develop problem solving and creative thinking skills. 'Solution Generator' will be available in autumn 2011. It will be delivered via distance learning, making it accessible to professionals all over the world as well as those with little time to attend taught classes.
    Learners will be able to get 6 credits at Masters level by completing an assignment or work-based industrial case study.
    The techniques used in the course are based on TRIZ (a Russian acronym for the theory of inventive problem solving), a powerful problem solving method. Six DVD-based films guide users through the problem solving process and help them to identify solutions to real-life problems and to cope with accelerating changes in technology and business. The course is also be supported by online training exercises, discussion forums and tutorials.
    For information about the course, please contact course developers: TRIZ experts Olga and Nikolay Bogatyrev by email: O.Bogatyreva@bath.ac.uk Bogatyrev@bath.ac.uk

      @@jacobhouston1655 Thank you! Free 6 videos are on this UA-cam channel, More detailed version we done investing a lot in the production and they are not free. You can stream the videos from the link I shared, prices are lower than a ticket to the cinema :-). Alternatively, there is a possibility to buy full version of all 7 films on CD (memory stick can also be considered) This option is popular amongst University teachers and companies that want to create lunch time TRIZ courses for their personnel.

    Question regarding the bottle in the video: when opened, what stops the glass ball from blocking the opening while drinking?

    • @fredrikuhman4501
      @fredrikuhman4501 11 років тому +1

      there are two dents in the bottle neck, which holds the glass ball when pouring or drinking from the bottle. you can see them more clearly on the newer bottles.

    Chers collègues,
    Nous sommes heureux de vous informer que notre livre "Inventor's Manual" a été traduit et est disponible en français sur Amazon.
    www.amazon.fr/Manuel-linventeur-Dr-Nikolay-Bogatyrev/dp/1505518350/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1420443865&sr=8-1&keywords=bogatyrev
    Le "Manuel de l'Inventeur" est un guide pratique à utiliser lorsque les solutions standard ne fonctionnent pas et que vous cherchez de nouvelles idées à mettre en œuvre.
    Plus de 40 planches, tables et schémas illustrent clairement le processus inventif, pour le rendre facile et naturel pour l'ingénieur, le manager, le designer…, qu'il soit expérimenté ou débutant.
    Le "Manuel de l'Inventeur" inclut aussi plusieurs conseils d'innovation dérivés de la nature, p.ex. "Comment simplifier la complexité et trouver des ressources là où personne n'en voit".
    Le livre a été traduit par des praticiens de TRIZ - Jean Leprince et Michel Lecoq, ce qui garantit qu'elle n'a rien perdu de l'essence de l'original.
    Bonne lecture !

    How do I apply this principle in fields like computer science and programming?

    • @biotriz
      @biotriz  9 років тому

      Ravin Sharma , these principles are already applied in computer science - lots of published cases. It is all about inventive thinking process rather than the subject of thinking, therefore applicable to any challenge where standard solutions do not work anymore.
