I flew the F28 for 5 years in the 1980's - we had Omega ( like GPS) which had a display like an FMC in the B737 except for VNAV.
It coupled with the Auto Pilot.

I like flying old aircraft in a modern way. But what would make it even better is if you would have a FMS, Autothrust and maybe a ND- *realises that's a Fokker 100 and Justflight is working on one

@@lipslide101You can enjoy an airframe and flight characteristics of an aircraft even if you want modern avionics. Way to gate keep though, who cares if you have a GPS in your spitfire, many of the spitfires today actually have GPS in them as it's easier for transiting airspace, etc.

@@lipslide101 same reason why many people modify their classic cars for the modern age. Not uncommon for owners of 40's or 50's cars to have modern engines with modern ECU systems, brake systems, etc.

@@A330Driver any idea when the fokker 100 will be released? Last update for this was January. I' was eyeing the fokker f28 but a glass cockpit with modern avionics is much more preferred for me.

Good video, and welcome to my beautiful sunburnt country! Have just binge watched your tutorials on this plane, and honestly, I think the VOR-VOR navigation setup you demonstrated in the tutorials is much better. I think adding a GPS into this aircraft takes something away from it. Love the Ansett livery! Will definitely be getting that one....when I can afford to buy the plane!!

Thanks so much for producing this. I find VORs a little difficult and I’ve been wanting to try the RNAV but wasn’t sure how to go further than just inputting the flight plan!

Thx for the useful video! I did a couple of flights in the F-28 but, having been trained in the 1980's, im enjoying the 'old school"' way of flying immensly tbh😊. Just flight did a stellar job on this aircraft.

    • @HELERsx

@@saren6538 no, unfortunatly not. But there are strict high- and low pressure limitations. Manual says: HP max 102.5%, LP max 109.5% and that limit has a time limit of max 5 minutes (10 Minutes with single engine operation). In the video he reached the 102.5% HP-Limit with setting climb power. But in climb you use max continious thrust which is max 98.5% high pressure which he exceeds heavily :) I always fly this plane fully loaded up to 29.000ft altitude and for better orientation and to protect the engines 100% LP is my personal maximum while climbing and its enough to maintain about 1000ft per minute climbrate over 27.000ft. So again: No, engine damage is not simulated but as many others I dont play this as a game but as a simulation with real life operations ;)

Almost the same Colours as ours on the 1000 series I flew, but I flew from Sydney to Broken Hill - Ularu (Ayres Rock) were we stayed the night (And climbed the rock) before flying back the next day.
All the Australian Aircraft had Omega Navigation systems situated in the blank spot on the Pedistal (worked like GPS but closer to FMC) a coupled to the Auto Pilot.
BTW On two occasions heading in to Ularu (First time in a DC3) & then in the F28 I flew through Spider Webs at 3,000 ft (Not kidding!)

Why is the AP transition so smooth in your version??? When I switch AP on during climb, it instantly starts to pitch the plane down heavily followed by a decent pitch up to a normal flight state. This is a little bit annoying but maybe Im doing something wrong?

When you fly personally and not necessarily for your videos, do you use AI traffic? I find it's a pain with the taxi conflict, subpar ATC continue and unrealistic constant TCAS warnings even if following ATC.
I've went with static traffic maybe for airport immersion and that's it. How about you?
I know you have a lot of subscribers and stuff but I'd be really grateful if you took the time to answer, thank you.

    • @A330Driver
      @A330Driver  Рік тому

Hi, for my "personal" flights I fly online on vatsim where I have other players of the network around me. Of course that amount of traffic does by far not get close enough to real life, however it is still mich better in quality than any AI traffic for exactly the reasons you mention.
I rather have no traffic than stupid traffic.
