OK, 15 mins in these days is a great effort.
Yes, when we did the flight (The other crews could do it to) the de- commisioned runway was in operation so less taxing with the route you planned correct, but, YBBN was the old airport "Eagle Farm" & short so we did do it in 10 minutes.
If you check just past the end of RW 19L you can see were it was.
Hey, with a 40 odd year old aircraft we can use the rules of the day in flight sim & have some fun.
When your ready for the next challenge, try 10,000 ft at 10 miles strait in which we did from time to time.
One night coming into YSSY (KIingsford Smith - Sydney) there were Thunder storms everywhere & I ended up at 10 miles / 10,000 ft 90 degrees to the runway on our left (16R).
ATC wanted a right 270 deg to the right to loose height right into a thunder storm so I asked for a left turn & got "Your too high" with my reply "Let us worry about that".
Left turn & we went strait in.
Make the challenge a strait in to any airport.
( I just tried it YCFS Rw 03 my home town & not a problem the JF F28 is very impressive)
* added note - get your speed back to gear down flaps 25 & poke the nose way down like a Space Shuttle & you will be on profile by 1,500 ft then flaps full.
I actually witnessed this in person yeaars ago there was a medical emergency shortly after take off from YBBN and thunderstorms had rolled over in Brisbane so the Divert was to YBCG yes Brisbane to Gold Coast was the flight !
wow, that must have been something!
Ansett had a Brisbane - Surfers Paradise - Sydney route back in the 70-80's. Brisbane to Surfers was 15 minutes IIRC. In a 727-200 and later 737-200.
Nicely done! Always a pleasure watching you work!
I appreciate that
F-28's were mainly used in Western Australia (MMA) and they were 1000 series pocket rockets. The East coast had a couple at most. I'm not sure which version they used.
Love this challenge. Keep up the great work and the great content
Thank you! Will do!
I've got another one for you. In the 70's the scheduled FTI (Flight Time Interval) for YSCB-YSSY in the 727 was .28 mins with a .35 min schedule...can you do this in the 737? Mind you, in that FTI a full meal service was completed although I must admit to holding a glass in hand during the landing!!
Lovely, done keep up the work, your videos never dissapoint.🎉🎉
Thank you so much!
I have always really enjoyed your content @737NG Driver, I live in Brisbane Australia and have got the F28 too, I enjoy it so much, please keep up your wonderful content
So... getting Airbus type rated, and doing what looks like bus lines already? :P
Jokes aside, this is a fun challenge indeed. Short hops are always very fun, and also serve us very well to see why "playing" in a simulator doesn't make you an airline pilot, when suddenly you realise all the things time pressure made you forget.
I love those kind of challenges :D Hoping to see more short VFR legs !
Hi! I really liked this challenge! And I'm a new subscriber to your channel, came for all good F28 content. Planning on buying it very soon. Thanks for the great content!
Awesome! Thank you!
I flew from ybs the day before yesterday! And I landed In ybbn a week ago in real life! Australia is a great place
I flew into YBBN last year and out again a week later. I got a video of the takeoff from my seat (and landing in NZAA), but being at night there wasn't much to see (the daylight Dash 8-300 takeoff and landing NZAA-NZWB came out much clearer)
@@lcmortensen did nzaa-ybbn route last week as-well
Love the idea of challenges like this
Had a crack in the 737-600 and took me 19 mins chocks to chocks on first attempt!
Good one for the first try!
Recently the A2A Comanche released. I'd love to see your impressions on it (despite the fact I already bought it lol)
You should use a Harrier or F35 - no wasting time taxying
ANother challenge - fly under Tower Bridge in London
haha, I tried :D
Seems like there's an invisible wall there in the sim. Unfortunately.
@@A330Driver I just set the sim up to fly under/through Tower Bridge - it worked just fine. No software/sim restriction
Like others have said, it's great to see an SE Queensland flight. Cheers from Tamborine, Queensland.
This is cool to see videos from my own backyard. I live a few 100km west of brissy so I spend most of my time flying Brisbane to Sydney in msfs.
Nice challenge! 300 till 4 works pretty good. Did 13:52 chock to chock.
Very nice work!
Captured my attention, my turf know these airports well. I was very anxious hoping you met this challenge.
Great work per usual.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Another Capt & I flew the first jet service into Maroochydore in a F28 in 1984.
Great Video! Keep up the good work!🎉
You should have had Shunts Scenery for YBSU….it’s my local airport
That was fun to watch. This should be a challenge in the SIM
Very interesting, Emi. 😀 Another interesting video would be a rapid turnaround challenge from chocks-on to chocks-off, without dependence on ground handlers.
I like the idea Richard, however I think it would be kinda problematic because many flight simmers just don't run all the necessary procedures. When I fly with friends they are typically much quicker than I am because they just do the most needed steps and that's it.
@@A330Driver I understand. When I get the B777, I intend to get the FSFirstOfficer version that supports it, so that the procedures can be followed more accurately. Regards.
On Saturday I started the challenge in the HPG hot air balloon, just approaching Perth now...
😂😂😂
14:08:63 for me 👌😉 recorded it too - hoping to see others give it a go too
Great! Let's see whom we can get to jump onto it ;-)
I didnt Know your co pilot was type rated on the fokker and the bae 146. lol😀
I don't see how people can do 300 until 4, without seriously overspeeding the gear or flaps. Even the speed brake hardly deploys at 300. The placard speed for the gear and flaps is 200
you could've added taht speedrun timer in the corner
If only my video editing skills would be up to that level :D
Been trying to find an answer for this, does anyone know what the horn means when you put the engines in idle during flight? I know you can turn it off but im interested in what it means.
Gear warning horn. Basically telling the pilots "Hey, I see you're reducing power, possibly for landing, but your gear's still in!"
Never thought I’d see a xplane fanboy over on a mfs video! ;)
@@majoraviatior1611 Got a problem?
@@hansloyalitat9774 not at all, glad to see you flying on different sims. Enjoy the f28
@@majoraviatior1611 Yeah I fly both X-plane and mfs.
Cool vidéo
