The Volo museum is a definite Place car enthusiasts need to visit it is a huge Museum and will legitimately take you all day to get through it and you probably won't see everything
This video was a really good one, I live about an hour and a half from volo, and after watching the stand up general documentary and now this one, I have to take a trip down there to the these cars! Great job!!
Chunky I really commend you on your deep dives on the dukes of hazzard! Very fascinating! I’m 52 and have been a fan since the show started ! Met Catherine at a dukesfest back in 05and she signed my daisy notebook from 2nd grade in 1980 ! Still had my school work in it and she looked through it! That was pretty cool! I’m also a fan of 🌕 moonrunners ! I got an original moonrunners movie poster ! The folded version ! It’s like 41 inches by 27 ! It’s awesome to look at ! I’ve visited down there in conyers and Covington ! I remember when we pulled up to the farm! I didn’t really know it until we got right up on it! But the funny thing was I had the Deja vu feeling ! Like I had been there before ! Thinking about it afterwards still just mind blowing ! I’m from northeast TN Keep fightin the system chunky ! ⚡️space ace Ron ⚡️🇺🇸
There is another General Lee in Murdo South Dakota at the Pioneer Auto Museum. It was built by Van Nyus, it's also the only one that is fully intact with all its original number matching parts and no repairs as it was only used for Photo shoots unlike the others which have numerous repairs and replaced components.
Im so glad you enjoyed! And you definitely should, be sure to mention my name when you go! It is an experience, I didn't show much of the museum in my videos but trust me, there is so much to see there it is fantastic! 🤘🏽❤️🇺🇸
This is why I don't care for the Volo museum. They have sat for years saying this car was used on the show and after several ppl have proved it wasn't they finally admit it wasn't used. That shouldn't take away from its heritage but they do this with alot of cars they buy to display..great vid as usual! Lee1 was the 1st delivered not the 1st built, lee3 was the first built
We literally said like six times in the fcking video that it wasn't used on the goddamn show, it was built to be used on the show but never was. That is fact. All the paperwork leads to that conclusion, and that's not me going off of what Brian told me, that's me going off of the three hours I spent in his office going through all the paperwork he had on both this car and the stand up general, alongside reading through every forum about the car over the last year since we filmed this video. The only evidence that contradicts the paper trail is heresay, and both Schisler and Holman have both told different stories at different times.
@ChunkeyMonkey40 I wasn't arguing and I've been one of your biggest supporters and followers no need to curse at me. I was saying Volo states alot of false info even when given proof ,they do this with almost every car they've purchased. That particular car is historic no doubt but the fact they went on for yrs telling everyone it was screen used etc when several ppl proved it wasn't. Being they've done this alot inassume it's for ticket sales..they did the exact samething with their knight rider cars and their corvette summer car just to name a few
That is completely untrue. We have never represented this car as screen used. If we did, there would be evidence out there and I’ll challenge you to find anything where Volo and not some hearsay 3rd party said it was screen used.
Their cars are actually real, their claims are backed by paperwork from where they got it, not just heresay. The Volo Museum is not like other museums such as the Hollywood Star Cars museum, where they claim cars are real when they arent. Volo is straight up with their cars, they have plaques at every car telling their stories and the one about the 6th General Lee plainly states that it was the 6th car built, but it was never used. From the sounds of it, you need to go there and see it all for yourself! And as for the swearing, as you should know thats just how I talk. I'm straight forward with what I say and I'm not sorry about it.
@@thebandit7408kitt is not screen used, nor ever claimed to be. The original description on Corvette Summer stated it was a promo car and the final description also called it a promo car however while I was gone from Volo helping Dezerland open a temp vaguely described it as “Corvette used in the movie Corvette Summer” during a website revamp and was immediately updated upon my return. As Chunky Monkey said, see for yourself. Each of our cars have a plaque describing their history, screen used or not. And I tried to repost a link to a 2014 article which we clearly state the General was not screen used as well as a 2010 promotion when we unveiled the car not calling it screen used and promoting to hear the story of how it escaped.
I can’t remember the golfer who has or had a General Lee who said he was going to paint an American flag on it. Who would have thought that the American flag would be offensive in 2024.
That golfer was Bubba Watson, the guy who used to own Lee One, the very first General Lee. He wanted to paint over the Rebel Flag with the American Flag, which would be vandalizing the first General Lee. He never did though, he quietly sold the car to another owner.
There is no exact color, the cars were painted Corvette flame red, TNT express, hemi orange, a mixture of all three. Orange is one of those colors where when you paint it, it never turns out the same. So essentially, just orange is the color of the general lee.

It is definitely worth the visit if you ever are in the area and have the chance to stop in. So much cool stuff to see!

I have a stupid question. How do the autographs not wash off like in rain or cleaning the car?
I believe they clear coated over the top of them
Need some 1/64 general lees on your site
Charges don’t like Quadrajet carburetors.
Give John Schnieder his car back :(
I want to know about the orange color used on the general lee. And what it is. I keep getting different answer
There is no exact color, the cars were painted Corvette flame red, TNT express, hemi orange, a mixture of all three. Orange is one of those colors where when you paint it, it never turns out the same. So essentially, just orange is the color of the general lee.
This car was matched to TNT Express.
Do a WD driving my generat lee till i get pulled over reaction videos
I've got one coming, should be dropping in a day or two!
