I think you would reach a broader audience by doing more videos like this while possibly getting more people interested in Knight Rider. But obviously keeping it mostly Knight Rider.
Though these films look great I will not fund any more of this General Lee Dodge Charger Genocide, with these stuntmen and Hollywood wreaking these beautiful cars all the time they will soon be EXTINCT... STOP THE DODGE CHARGER GENOCIDE NOW
I love this! If you love Knight Rider then you love Dukes of Hazzard, you love The A-Team you love Airwolf and Streethawk and Automan! Please feature more subjects like this. Takes me back to my childhood.
I was literally just about to write the same thing 😂. True though. If you were born in the late 60s / early 70s, you’ll love it all 👍
Don’t forget fall guy
@@IowaBudgetRCBashers I also want to give a shout out to Magnum PI and the under rated Crazy like a Fox!
And then they slowly move to a Viper TV series...
Hardcastle and McCormack, with the two coyote's
There’s a direct connection between KR and DOH. The same stuntmen that made General Lee do all of those crazy stunts are the same people that did the same with Kitt. So there you go. In my opinion, you didn’t deviate from Knight Rider. You filled in some more gaps in the history chain. I love it.
I'm often amazed by life's little coincidences... I'm half way through re-watching Dukes of Hazzard right now after many years since my last viewing. What a GREAT treat this is with wonderful timing! Thanks so much Joe! 😁
Awesome! You are welcome!
NICE. I LOUE THE CAR, LOUE THE ORANGE, ICONIC. 😌
Here's a trivia question for you - which episode of "Knight Rider" has a SCREEN USED General Lee in it? (No, NOT "Give Me Liberty...or Give Me Death"!) Put it in the comments!
I know but ain't saying
I don't know the answer to your question. I know that you mentioned a Dukes of Hazzard billboard with a live General Lee on it at the Warner Brothers not far from Universal Studios. Could it be that said car?
@@vinpetrol4309 I think the episode you're thinking of is Custom KITT pretty sure its right at the car show location and you can see it right in the middle of the screen out in the background
@@thewindowsxp32 that could be now that you mentioned it but I was more thinking of maybe in Fright Knight or The Nineteenth Hole.
Oh gosh...I can't remember the episode but I'm pretty sure it was the "billboard" General Lee.
This so cool. That era of Charger is my absolute favorite. Knowing how many of those cars were destroyed during the series life breaks my heart. Thanks for sharing.
Love to see more TV used cars from other shows. Even some movies would be cool
Yes absolutely continue. While I love knight rider, the dukes of hazzard was my favorite show growing up.
the was an a-team was an episode ? too
It'd be a dream come true to see that car in person like you did. So jealous!
One of my favorite cars from back in the day.
Thank you, Joe for letting me be apart of the video I really appreciate it! I am truly humbled. This video came out so great! I would love to see this car and KITT together soon. Hope to see you again soon! -Cody
Thanks again!
Darren has a message for me to tell u. " get a room"
Thank you for sharing joe
My pleasure!!
@@KnightRiderHistoriansOfficial Yes, thanks Joe. This was a treat for a Mopar guy and fan of the original series.
Fascinating details you guys found and discussed while inspecting that screen used General Lee. Thank you for the awesome video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Back when the Duke's was still on tv. My best friend where just out riding around like we were known to do .And we somehow ended up out side the studio where they filmed the Duke's. And hanging on the side of the building at the top was a for real 1968/69 Dodge Charger with all of the cast members faces painted under it. We also looked over the fence into the backlot and there were several rows of Chargers parked next to each other. Some did not look to bad and others well lets just say That's Not Gonna Buff Out. I still have the two pictures I took that day of the car on the building but I ran out of film in my camera before I looked over the fence. Remember this was before your phone was also your camera.
This is cool that it was used on the show, and it’s still around
thank you for doing this. As a huge Dukes fan, it's great to see somebody documenting some of the Dukes history the same way you've done with the Knight Rider history.
I really don't mind branching off and talking about other 80's properties. Keeps things fresh!
Amazing 👏 Love this Joe! Thanks! Childhood memories rushing back.
I 100% approve of this kind of content, because as much as I love Knight Rider, I feel that a little variety in content is a good thing to keep the channel fresh!! 👍
An amazing video by Joe of Knight Rider Historians as usual!! Always awesome to spend time with you guys. Thank you🙏🏻🙏🏻
Right back at you! Hope to do it again soon
Riding in the General Lee and Kitt would be a bucket list item for me, and I don’t have a long list. It’s great to see that they are still around. Thank you for sharing.
Feel free to do more episodes like this. We love all of these old show cars.
That was so cool! :-) you know there's nothing wrong with going out topic about the cars. They're all from the same era so it really doesn't hurt to go down that road :-) we're all fans of all the shows!
I loved this video!!! The 80s had so many awesome TV shows!
This is absolutely amazing two of my most favorite TV show cars kitt and general Lee. Amazing
What a piece of history ! Thank you sir for keeping her original as possible. I wouldn't be the car guy I am or many others without this car growing up .
definitely love the Dukes and A-team content.
I love all TV cars. Keep telling the great history of all of them.
Very good! Keep making these extras.
Thanks, will do!
They didn't blast the horns, I was gutted!!!!
Awesome video Joe 👍
Thank you for venturing in our other 80s favorite show cars!!💗💗 doing things like this is greatly appreciated and is totally gonna grow your channel and fan base even more!! From the bottom of my heart thank you for keeping the history and memories alive!!💗💗
That was awesome, thanks very much Joe.
Very cool, thanks for sharing and kudos to the owner for showing it off and not hiding it away like some priceless piece of art
Keep on doing what yall doing!! That is so awesome seeing such a wonderful work of art!!
The beginning of it all for me, on a cold Friday night in January of 1979 in my maternal grandfather’s living room….plenty of automotive-themed tv shows came after it that thrilled and delighted me(including Knight Rider, of course!)….but it all started with this orange Charger.
Thanks to both KRH and NEOD for bringing the 2 most popular “car shows” together in such a spirit of camaraderie….
Please keep doing these one offs. They're great. And highlighting these other groups is amazing.
Please keep these videos coming it's great to see your child hood in front of you again they definitely don't have shows like this great times and amazing memories...
Loved this. Definitely no qualms with seeing the channel cover tv car's whenever they can.
That is awesome to see a video up close of one of the remaining Warner Bros General Lee's from the show. I had heard for many years that they had pieced the fleet together with parts from any years (68-69) to keep the General Lee fleet rolling and it shows right there in this General Lee with all the different panels and frame pieces. Great video Joe and thanks to the owner of this General Lee to let everyone see the actual details of the Charger!
Excellent video! Thanks Joe!
My father in law worked near Bob Hope airport ( where they kept the general lees) and on one day he stopped by and the team gave him a mini tour. There were doors wheels engines laying everywhere cars were getting hauled to the scrap yards and virgen chargers were getting delivered getting ready to be turned into lees. He said it was hectic and the cars were BEAT. They were just 1000 dollars cars back then.
That was amazing. I love the general. Lee the general lee is still one of my all-time favorites to see an original generally used in the series and see how they patched it all up that was awesome. Thank you.
Thses guys are evel kanival of car jumping👍.Joe, Love this channel and its contents.these specials are fantastic.please continue these none knight rider specials in future. Thank you sir.
Yes, please do. I too, watched the Dukes, KR, The Fall Guy, Airwolf and many others. Thank you for all of your videos!
I love the way you guys do things, enjoy it every time...
Love this content cross content is fantastic and appreciated. It seems most of us from this era enjoyed multiple shows like this. Thank you for being such a special car to our view!!
Yes The General Lee & The Dukes Of Hazzard Is One Of My All Time Favorite Right Behind Knight Rider
Really enjoyed this brief departure from the KR world and seeing the same things we enjoy when looking for screen used evidence on KR cars etc. So great that nearly 20 of them are still around given how many sacrificed themselves for the show 😎.
AWESOME, EXCELLENT and PERFECT!!!!! I enjoyed it very much seeing all of the history in the car damage. Thank you for sharing and keep up the good work.
Awesome video! I like to see stuff like this sprinkled in on your channel! Related to other similar shows we also love! Nice work!! That car is sooooo coool to see!!!
Happy to see other tv show content from this era love the quality of your content
Awesome details. I couldn’t imagine drooling on a Chevelle more than on this iconic Charger. Thank goodness for the low budged. 🤘😎
Joe Caldwell is a great guy. Good friend.
Same here brother.
Really enjoyed this Joe!
K.I.T.T. & the General have been my two hand in hand passions for the last 40 years. Love your detailed Knight Rider analysis and to see you running over an original General too is just what the Doctor Barstow ordered.
One thing I remembered from the show is I think Coy and Vances last episode, is the angled section of the row bar removed from the interior. They showed one close-up shot of them driving, and it was on and then the next shot it was removed. My guess is that it was a pain for the actors that had to sit in the back. Beautiful original here!!!
Great vid, great looking TV car. Fascinating to see all the improv-repairs on it. 👍🏻
Love the extra content as well. Loved The Fall Guy trucks located segment too. Great Chanel thank you so much for bringing us along.
loved this! Thank You for sharing. I would love to see more like this too.
Love it Joe! Hope we get to see more original General Lees! Always interesting to see the studio changes/repairs done to the original cars. The patch panel you talked about in the front wheel well is factory B-body Mopar - it's the access panel to upper control arm cam bolt.
I love this really cool up close video of the general Lee and all the history excellent video
So cool, glad they aren't restoring it, Ive wanted this car since I was a kid growing up watching reruns of the dukes , I've been fixated on the general lately so you video was a very happy surprise, awesome!
not being restored , just needed a few mechanical repairs
This is so cool, to work with other channels, I love it, it is like a small spin off series. I love how you go over to other shows and please keep this going. Thank you for this and thank the others that keep the other shows alive.
Thank you so much!
Great video , keep them coming 👍👍
Great video and yes the green general lee was in season 2 episode 23 Southern Comfort
Yes please do more of these kind of videos like this please .I am a big fan of Knight rider and also of the Dukes of Hazard.
It would be awesome, when you get the semi and trailer finished, that you and dukes of hazard and any other group that is restoring tv shows cars and stuff get together and do an amazing event. Even if you could get cars from yesteryear, like the musters and 1966 bat mobile and the like.
You all do an awesome job.
I loved watching Dukes of Hazzard! Really appreciate that video
Keep it up Joe with these semi-related, one-off episodes. If anything , it will widen your viewer and subscriber base. I'm hear for Knight Rider but how can you not love any classic TV car.
Love your work keep it up well done
I loved seeing the General Lee. Please do more videos like this.
Knight Rider was of course my favorite growing up, and why i subscribed to this channel years ago but A Team and Dukes of Hazzard were close 2nd and 3rd so i love the content. Its all from the same era so i imagine there are tons of other crossover fans like me
Wow! That’s a piece of history there.
Very nice video. Thanks for posting and have a nice day too.
Very nice..the car is like a surviving cast member all of its own. I was fortunate to sit in a screen use General lee in car museum in the UK lake district 20 years ago cos I was wearing a Dukes shirt and the owner loved it...they also had the convertible KITT from season 4 Knight rider. All genuine and not replicas . Its closed now and cars all sold. Great video and keep between the ditches boys.❤
Thank you so much for this! Thank you!
Man that was awesome.
I did a model of the black General Lee but didn't know about the black seat inserts.
I wish I'd have seen that sooner. Lol
Great video.
Always good to see a familiar RC channel pop up in the comments section elsewhere dude.....
Wow, how cool was that video then?
What a superb piece of Dukes history! 👍 👍 👍
Love it! You are great for us fans
I enjoyed Knight Rider but the Dukes of Hazard was always it for me. I had Dukes bedspread, curtains, race track, basically a Dukes bedroom as a kid. Thanks for showing this and I see nothing wrong with doing more for other shows. While we have our favorites they all have a special place in our hearts
Learned everything I know about driving from them and Burt Reynolds.
My favorite show when I was a little kid, and what got me into cars. I didn't discover Knight Rider until years later when it was on WGN Chicago.
Cool to see another famous TV car in detail, even I haven't seen the Dukes of Hazzard series, I don't think it was on TV here in Finland, but I have the 2005 movie at least. Dukes fans are lucky because they got the same car, General Lee in that movie too. Would be so nice to see this happening with Knight Rider as well, KITT being once again based on 1982 Pontiac Trans-Am :)
According to a TikTok video by veteran stuntman Corey Eubanks, This was his favorite General Lee to drive. He loved this car, as it handled well.
Thank you for sharing this.
I would love to see more of our old school cars, and trucks from movies and series on special one offs. Keep up the good work.
I'm loving this. You're taking all my childhood and putting it on display. I wonder if you will be able to tour us around the Fall Guy truck one day. Thank you!
Brilliant ,loved this more of this please, shame they never let you drive The General Lee 😄
Amazing video! Probably the closet I'll ever get to a screen used General Lee. It's nice to know that 17 screen used cars including this one, survived. That is a significant number considering how many cars were destroyed during the production of the show. The fortunate thing is the supply of Dodge Chargers did not come from a train derailment. The production crew were not obligated to have them crushed after the show ended. There are so few surviving screen used Knight Rider cars because many of them were crushed as part of the obligation that was a condition of the train derailment deal. It is a crime we don't have the screen used full time Super Pursuit car!
Awesome! Nice to see underneath.
Wow Thank you for sharing. I remember where I was every Friday night at 9pm i believe
great episode!
very interesting thanks for posting
A race between K.I.T.T and the General Lee would be cool!
Seriously, KR, Dukes, A-Team, Fall Guy, Airwolf, Streethawk, Rip Tide is what I grew up on. Great era for us kids! Keep it up when the opportunity arises.
That’s so cool! Dukes of Hazard was my favorite show as a kid. I have had to make my own General Lee’s myself. Even the 1/64 scale diecast are hard to find.
Great video!
U are one lucky man that got to see a studio general lee that’s cool
I would love to see more of these types of videos.
Very very cool video!!! I loved it!! My dream car…
I'm glad he kept the old tires that were used for the show. I would keep every single broken part that gets replaced on a piece of history like this.
Awesome content 👏
