This was a great video. I was 7 when The Dukes of Hazzard came out. I had been seeing the commercials for it's upcoming release and I was stoked! It will always remain my favorite show. No other show takes me back and gives me that feeling quite like the Dukes of Hazzard can. My uncle bought me the General Lee model for my 8th birthday. I built it and kept it. At 22, I walked into my grandma's house and seen my little cousins playing with it but, she wouldn't let me take it from them. 20 years later, grandma passes. The General is beat to death but, I got it back and it sits in the bookshelf in the corner of the living room. Nobody better touch it, either.
every show has goofs. As kids, we didnt see any of that stuff, we didnt care. All we knew is that it was the best show on TV at that time of our lives. Lots of memories🙂
So did Elwood Blues ""bluesmobile" the reanimated of it ended up on cutting room floor but it was where it was parked was near the Chicago L train transformer power station... to which finding a '74 dodge monaco is as hard to find as a 69 charger, rosco's first cop car is a 74 platform could replicate two celebrity cars w one fell swoop in a 74 monaco....maybe why their so hard to find....
Why can’t we just enjoy the memories from our childhood, we have to pick everything apart today. I would give anything to have the feeling i had on Saturday morning watching the Duke’s of Hazard. We need more of that.
I always thought it was funny where the cars would change models in one jump. One episode, a Fury or Monaco police car was jumped then turned into an AMC Matador when it landed. Love the bloopers. No shortage of them on the Dukes.
This is an interesting and hilarious video! The part where Bo asked for Luke's help in fighting Richard Moll reminded me of a similar scene in Simon & Simon where Rick said "A. J., I could use some help over here!" when he was trying to subdue a big guy but A.J. had already been pounded by the guy! Love the X Files music! As far as driving to the Philippines, a kid once told Bob Newhart "Wait till I get my van! I'm going to Europe!" 😅
I just turned 50, and I finally got that nostalgic bug. Just found & bought the Dukes of Hazard series on Amazon. It's amazing some of the stuff I didn't catch as a kid b/c I was too amazed by the General Lee the Dukes, and especially Daisy lol Also been watching Smokey and the Bandit.
Remember one important thing. This was a made for tv show in early 80s with viewers didnt take so much notice or try to point the flaws out like in todays world. Folks ENJOYED the show and felt good. After i would get on my bmx bike and ride around the neighborhood using my imagination, ye ah. Always looking for my "Daisy" !
If you play the episodes in chronological order you’ll also notice the Duke boys crashed Daisy‘s car after she got the Jeep. Yet, the reason why she got the jeep was because the Duke boys crashed her car. 5:01
If you're referring to Bo & Luke crashing Daisy's yellow Road Runner off the cliff, that did happen in the same episode as Daisy gets the Jeep, and said crash did happen before Daisy gets the Jeep. The "goof" that I think you're referring to is the fact that they aired one episode out of production order. This resulted in Daisy mysteriously having the Jeep (for no apparent reason) in "Arrest Jesse Duke", having the Road Runner again in "Duke of Duke", and the Road Runner going off the cliff and Daisy getting the Jeep in "The Runaway".
@@StoneC0ld5345 Yes I believe you’re right. I just didn’t know the episode titles at the time. All I know is the mysterious jeep episode was aired before the Runaway
Even as a youngster I questioned a lot of the switcheroo magic I witnessed, but I'd gladly go back to those days when the flag ran free and hearing a loud "YEEEEHAAA" put a smile on my face!! And always looked forward to those Daisy Dukes. 😉😁😽
This was one of my favorite shows when it was on. I think it was around the same time period as BJ and the Bear, or The Misadventures of Sheriff Lobo. These were also favorites of mine. Even now I have the complete Dukes of Hazard downloaded (as well as Bj and the Bear. Though cant find Sheriff Lobo).
Our CBS affiliate in Nashville, TN put all 3 together on a rotating basis on weekday afternoons as The Dukes, BJ and Lobo Hour. Eventually, BJ and Sheriff Lobo were phased out in favor of DOH.
2:20 This is a dumb claim that I've been hearing since the 1980s - no, the show isn't responsible for '69 Dodge Chargers being hard to find. There were over 89,000 '69 Dodge Chargers made, and the show used about 300 Chargers. Some of the Chargers the show used weren't even '69 models.
I remember a scene where Bo and Luke were switching signs during a race between uncle Jesse and Boss Hogg, where Luke got back into the General Lee by opening and closing the door.
This is hysterical! I can’t stop laughing. 😂😂😂😂 I love the way the stunt cars change with every different angle. 😮 By the way, I used to work at Warner Bros. on the lot at this time and I used to see so many of the General Lee’s. Great job on the video by the way. 😎
The M113 Armored Personnel Carrier is the vehicle used in Dukes of Hazard. Bo and Luke left Hazard to let the heat (their wanted level) die down and Coy and Vance came to cover them, and went to jail for life after they left (that's why they vanished from the series and cartoon). Frank Welker voiced Megatron in the G1 Transformers animated series.
There's one classic goof that even Waylon comments on in the middle of the episode. The Dukes are driving the General Lee in some chase scene and they go by someone painting yellow stripes on the road and when they go by the yellow paint brush goes all the way down the side of the General. The General Lee goes through a mud puddle and in the very next cut scene there is no yellow paint and Waylon refers to it as magic mud puddle memory serves correct. It was the only good called out on the show.
At 5:00 you mention Roscoe's patrol car losing its roof lights and them re-appearing - did you notice in the initial shot the car is on its left side - in the second shot it's on its right
There were also quite a few times the police cars changed mid chase. One scene it would be the newer police car, then the early model then back to the new model again. I think there was also at least one episode that the push-bar on the General changed between the wide and narrow version from one scene to the next.
I loved the dukes when I was growing up too. I have noticed some goofs you haven't mentioned namely doors on the general lee not being closed properly. And I'm sure in one scene from days of shine and roses they cut back to luke actually closing the door when getting in after moving a detour sign to help uncle jesse.
To the best of my knowledge (and I'm probably wrong), about 309 '69 Dodge Chargers were used during the show's seven-season run on CBS from '79 to '85. The final two seasons (six and seven) resorted to using miniature 1/8 scale models operated off-camera by remote control--as well as stock footage of the General Lee jumping over ravines, quarries, damaged bridges, and railroad crossings culled from previous episodes--in an attempt to reduce escalating costs. As I had already mentioned in my initial comment, '68 and '70 Chargers were often modified to match the exact specifications of the '69 model...as a result, '69 Dodge Chargers are extremely rare.
The opening theme song for this show is completely different than the one that was heard on country music stations back in the 80s. CMT used to carry TDOH, but not anymore.
There were two versions that Waylon recorded. The theatrical version is the one we're all familiar with. And there was a commercial version which is the one that you could buy at the record store.
A friend just told me about your channel & I've subbed. Great stuff, really enjoying it! I happen to have The Dukes animated DVD set signed by James Best.
In the Episode How General Lee Was Born....When Uncle Jesse walks up to the driver side door Tom Wopat is welding Uncle Jesse walks to the front you get a shot of cooter when the camera backs out for the starting of the car you see John Schneider in driver seat (And front seat has been replaced) is that is a blooper
I reckon Coy and Vance were the studio's attempt at permanently replacing Bo and Luke. The decline in ratings is what led to Tom Wopat and John Schneider returning. Coy and Vance were dollar store Bo and Luke. They were never seen as more than discount replacements which is why they never appeared on the show or cartoon again after Bo and Luke returned. I reckon folks back then would rather believe Coy and Vance never existed. It's an unfortunate legacy for Byron Cherry and Christopher Mayer (RIP). Their contribution to Dukes of Hazzard is reduced to a less interesting and forgettable chapter of the hit show's history. The characters people care about are Bo, Luke, Daisy, Rosco, Boss Hog, Uncle Jesse, Cooter, Enos and Cletus.
Christopher Mayer (Vance) still managed to get some TV and film work, and his highest profile gig was as Jennifer Tilley’s lover, Kenneth Falk, in the courtroom scenes of “Liar Liar”.
So many shows from the 70's and 80's would have the car model change from scene to scene, I was and still am a hard core car enthusiast, in the 70's and 80's I was 8 to 18 years old, my dad used to take me to car dealers all the the time and auto shows, I had brochures for everything, I could to tell you the year, make, model of just about anything on the road from the 50's to the 80's, it would drive me crazy how they would change the cars throughout the show. Cop cars could change from Ford to Chevy to Mopar all within a 3min car chase, used to drive me nuts!
Just found your channel a few weeks ago and I'm having a blast. Thanks for helping me relieve my childhood. I'm very appreciative for what you do. Ever thought 🤔 of doing the A-Team series ? I'd be interested in what you come up with.
I Loved it when they show the Episodes out of order. Also Loved how the Background didn't match the shots of the Inside of the General while driving. They are out on a Country Road, Flat Land all around but inside Shot of them driving show them next to a Cliff and Vise Versa.. Or No Houses around inside shot but outside shots show houses and Vise Versa..
did you miss during the bull from night court punch , its BO stunt double standing on the edge of the group. blonde hair same style, yellow long sleave shirt rolled at wrists, blue jeans, belt with knife~ 14:53
Fun video. I’m currently watching the show on DVD, I'm on the last disc of season five. Anyway, there are at least two more cousins we never hear from again, Jeb Stewart Duke and Gaylord Duke. Even Cooter's cousins join in, L.B. and B.B. show up in a few episodes then we never see them again. You’d think with everyone having so many family members around that someone would show up again sometimes. Even Boss had a twin brother that we only saw for one episode and Rosco’s skinny sister as well.
Back in grade 8 i was in a group and we called ourselves The Dukes. I drew a pic that looked cartoonish. Weird thing tho was no one new The Dukes Of Hazzard had a cartoon at the time. We learned sometime in high school or just after lol
Since you're talking about the Carnival of Thrills car changing models repeatedly, The Hazzard County police cars did it all the time. For instance, in your first goof, the police car that does the jump is a '74 Dodge Monaco, but the car that rolls at the end is a '70 Dodge Polara.
NTM the General Lee’s Biggest Problems Over the Years, were Flat or shot out tires, or an inconvenient blowout. Bad Shocks. Dirty Aircleaner, or Carburetor. Trying to avoid the Car Crusher Trying to get away from Roscoe Trying Not to get Stolen It also had an impersonator, maybe that’s the one you saw in the 1st episode, imitation is the most sincere form of flattery. Some of my favorite scenes were Daisy Driving, the road runner, I thought was a later charger, or the General Lee
I think it was the episode "Duke vs Duke, which put Bo and Luke racing against each other where The General's transmission started slipping and lost all forward gears, forcing Bo to finish the race in reverse. Other issues were the occasional overheating due to the radiator getting shot. Broken CB antenna. Getting stripped down to bare bones. Acts of sabotage. a few roll-overs here and there. Not to mention the windshields, rear glass and mirrors getting shot up. Whew!! The General at times had a rough life.
They were more like Laurel and Hardy to me. Oddly enough, there was an episode where a couple of bad guys wore Laurel and Hardy masks when they were robbing a bank.
Gotta remember, TV's weren't as nearly as clear as the ones today, so some of this stuff was never seen. I remember some, but most of the little things, nope.
I definitely remember that season of Dukes with Coy and Vance. I saw on Entertainment Tonight the story detailing the contract disputes with Tom Wopat and Jon Schneider. Being about eight years old, it further erased the illusion of fantasy from TV, as did finding out The Hulk was just a big guy named Lou Ferrigno painted green.
@@whoami7721Big Louie was the quintessential Hulk; nobody else could take his place, although I'm sure he doesn't miss sitting in the makeup chair for at least three hours getting himself plastered with green makeup, and having to wear the hard contact lenses.
Just say APC instead of tank. Even they referred to the General as "he" not "it". I'm not sure but the other home grown armored vehicle looked familiar, like mabey it had been in "A Team"? This took me down memory lane watching the Dukes, the A Team, Airwolf (my ringtone), and Star Trek. Thanks! They said that they didn't destroy thousands or even hundreds but rather a few dozen chargers. I remember different wheels with a different number of spokes, and if memory serves even a '68 or two showing up.
First.... Shirley, may you fly like the eagle of old..RIP Return if Possible...Bo needs you! I watched far too much of this show at a very impressionable age.....cuz for the first 10 years of driving....the thought of pulling over when I seen cherries behind me never crossed my mind!!! I had so many coats of paint on the last car I was driving before I became a parent, that it was like towing an anker! Lol!
All those old car chase shows gave me the impression you could jump a car and still keep going back in the day. Boy, was I disappointed in how fragile cars really were.
@@tvcrazyman There is jumping" and there is flying like the good old boys! I jumped lost of cars and continued to drive the cars for months" but I never flown one! Lol! From vs beetles, gremlins, Oldsmobile Cultis, neon, Taurus wagon, f150s..ya I had some fun lol.....there is a trick to it!
Actually the 1971 Plymouth Road runner was only used in the first 5 Episodes of season 1. They used a 1972 Plymouth Satellite for the rest of the episodes on season 1 and season 2. So actually it was a 72 satellite that was driven off the cliff.
Cletus was banished to Arizona where Boss Hogg tried to franchise out The Boars Nest and bought Mel's diner in Alice, then sold it back to him and opened it elsewhere. Cletus was the dishwasher, but still dropped and broke a lot of glasses and plates. LOL
It’s a lot of these same mistakes in The Fall Guy series. I noticed the other day. Colt was chasing in a old Chevy truck but when he made the jump. It was a old ford truck the same color red.
I was hoping to see the one time they opened the door of the General Lee (when the doors were supposed to be welded shut) during the season 2 premiere. Luke opnes the door to get back in the General. I've read aout it, but I haven't been able to find the video of that scene.
You have to be watching and listening closely on that one. You can hear the door shut when he gets in. I can't remember if I put that one in a video or not, but I did run across it in the last year or so.
That opening scene of episode 1 when Bo and Luke were chasing Cooter...the cop car is a different model in the crash than it is in the opening jump. The front ends look different.
Go back to 12:39 in the video. You mention Coy's wheel was not even spinning on the motorcycle. Well you forgot to include that when he is moving the handlebars back and forth, the front wheel and riser doesn't rotate to the left and right either!😂
During the very first chase, the sheriffs car goes from a 75 Dodge Monaco (jump) to a 70 Dodge Polara (flip). Later on in the same episode you see the same two cars again chasing the Dukes before they all arive at the orphanage home.
@stuartewoldt1513 No, Mr. Booke was a Korean War veteran (as was my maternal grandfather). Considering Mr. Booke was born in 1930 and World War 2 ended in 1945, he would've been too young to even be in the military (most likely), much less serve in World War 2 (my paternal grandfather served during it, by the way). Anyway, I thank them each for their service!
You can catch Tom Wopat in the Smallville Season 5 episode "Exposed" (2004) where he plays an old friend of Jonathan Kent and comes roaring up the Kent farm driveway Dukes-style in a blue Dodge Charger. They even tear down the road the same way as they did in TDoH. One of them even mentions having known the other for 25 years (which comes out to 1979). It was an obvious homage, but a welcome one. 😎👍
In the episode with the green machine one of the bad guys (William Russ) will eventually end up playing the Dad on Boy Meets world and Girl meets world
The clip from the batman cartoon brought back memories, I watched a lot of Batman, but I hadn't thought about that tank(armored personnel carrier) jump in a long time

Ever thought 🤔 of doing the A-Team series ? I'd be interested in what you come up with.
Thanks, I did do a A-team video a while back. Check it out - ua-cam.com/video/QTbIb4d2lUQ/v-deo.html 😀
The A team had a lot of goofs like this.
Hey, I have to say always wondered how they got those side shots of the car during a jump. I thought it was done with a miniture.
They did use miniatures during certain jumps.
did you miss during the bull from night court punch , its BO stunt double standing on the edge of the group. blonde hair same style, yellow long sleave shirt rolled at wrists, blue jeans, belt with knife~ 14:53
I recall Rosco and Lulu's mom was seen in one episode, but we never see or hear from her again.
I agree with how the show changed for the worse after moving to CA. You just can’t reproduce that “early morning fog” found in the southeast.
LOL..I remember them going from real cars to models lol.
Back in grade 8 i was in a group and we called ourselves The Dukes. I drew a pic that looked cartoonish. Weird thing tho was no one new The Dukes Of Hazzard had a cartoon at the time. We learned sometime in high school or just after lol
Not only did Michael Bell do a LOT of well known 80's saturday cartoon voices,he also did voices for the video game "Diablo 2:Lord of Destruction"!!!
My favorite show actor I grew up in the 70s
Since you're talking about the Carnival of Thrills car changing models repeatedly, The Hazzard County police cars did it all the time. For instance, in your first goof, the police car that does the jump is a '74 Dodge Monaco, but the car that rolls at the end is a '70 Dodge Polara.
I never seen the cartoon dukes of hazard i watched i loved dukes of hazard every week when I was a kid
NTM the General Lee’s Biggest Problems Over the Years, were
Flat or shot out tires, or an inconvenient blowout.
Bad Shocks.
Dirty Aircleaner, or Carburetor.
Trying to avoid the Car Crusher
Trying to get away from Roscoe
Trying Not to get Stolen
It also had an impersonator, maybe that’s the one you saw in the 1st episode, imitation is the most sincere form of flattery.
The one with the camera on the car over the river there’s 3 people in the car lol
Will alway be a great show
THANKS GROW UP watching them
James Best and Sorrell Booke, the Abbott and Costello of the 70's and 80's
They were more like Laurel and Hardy to me. Oddly enough, there was an episode where a couple of bad guys wore Laurel and Hardy masks when they were robbing a bank.
Gotta remember, TV's weren't as nearly as clear as the ones today, so some of this stuff was never seen. I remember some, but most of the little things, nope.
Great great video as always. Is it possible to do all the CHIPS goofs?
Definitely possible. I have been watching CHIPS lately. 😀
@@tvcrazymanI just so happen to own the full series on DVD.
They wrecked a total of 300 Dodge Chargers during filming of the show, no wonder it's so hard to find one in good condition.😂
21:25, it looks like it's addressed to "Jessie Williams". Who is that? Jesse Duke!!!
The miniature jumping shots are so awful you could almost call every single one an error
I think the biggest goof was a whole season without the duke boys😂😂 keep making great videos👍🖖
Thanks
Is weird that after cletus left the show ,he never returned to the show until the reunion movie
My ultimate fav show of all time!
The haunted episode was the best one made to me
The General Lee is the Wolverine of cars. Self healing and all
I was hoping to see the one time they opened the door of the General Lee (when the doors were supposed to be welded shut) during the season 2 premiere.
I heard a rumor in some of the episodes you can hear the doors of the general lee closing and opening
Go back to 12:39 in the video.
You mention Coy's wheel was not even spinning on the motorcycle.
Well you forgot to include that when he is moving the handlebars back and forth, the front wheel and riser doesn't rotate to the left and right either!😂
That's a cup AND a paper plate on Daisy's car hood
05:08, it's also laying on it's r.side (l.side in the first shot)
During the very first chase, the sheriffs car goes from a 75 Dodge Monaco (jump) to a 70 Dodge Polara (flip). Later on in the same episode you see the same two cars again chasing the Dukes before they all arive at the orphanage home.
Boss Hogg in real life was a WW2 hero. Look up Mr. BOOKE. The mqn is a genius
Mqn? Man?
@stuartewoldt1513 No, Mr. Booke was a Korean War veteran (as was my maternal grandfather). Considering Mr. Booke was born in 1930 and World War 2 ended in 1945, he would've been too young to even be in the military (most likely), much less serve in World War 2 (my paternal grandfather served during it, by the way). Anyway, I thank them each for their service!
Clark Kent's dad sure had a wild time in his young days.
I remember catching Tom Wopat in a couple of episodes of Home Improvement where he played Ian, the guy that had the hots for Jill.
The tank jump driver looks like uncle jesse
In the episode with the green machine one of the bad guys (William Russ) will eventually end up playing the Dad on Boy Meets world and Girl meets world
The clip from the batman cartoon brought back memories, I watched a lot of Batman, but I hadn't thought about that tank(armored personnel carrier) jump in a long time
