Theon was an amazing character, we really went from hating to pitying to mourning him. He protected his home and I wish he would’ve had a truly happy ending but this is game of thrones.
His and Jamie's arc were elite. They could be great redemption movies by themselves it's crazy

I think Theon got his happy ending. Sansa has forgiven him, Jon acknowledged Theon as a Stark, Bran said Winterfell is his home, Although I dont recall if there's an interaction with Arya though.

They did dirty to our Dothraki I must say. I think the writers did this for us to know that even the Dothraki who can't be defeated in an open field, was massacred in just seconds. I get their point but it feels sad for me it's like they put Dothraki on a suicide mission. Also, I would've loved to see Dothraki fighting in the Last War. See those Lannister army and Golden Company watch the horror as Dothraki come to them and kill them all. Sighs. Although I get why they did this to Dothraki, to show that the undead and unbeatable but still.
Yup charge into the darkness into a wall of undead infantry that literally have no fear. Like what was their plan if Melisandre didn't show up anyways? Just stupid writing all around.
The dothraki were unrivalled on the battlefield as said by robert. They are fearless warriors, but to see them wiped out in seconds showed that the living had little to no chance, and to see some dothraki running means you definitely have no chance because dothraki never run.

The imagery of the night just swallowing up the Dothraki was terrifying. When the hoof beats started back, I thought and kind of hoped the army obliterated them and NK was sending them back as wights. Although, was also happy that wasn't the case.
Edit, because this comment was completely misinterpreted in another reaction: I know the night King wasn't there. We all found out where the night King was at the exact same moment in the episode. And it certainly wasn't until after the Dothraki hoarde got completely swallowed by the night. Just sharing a statement of what I thought for a Split Second. Thank you.
It really set the mood and tenor of the episode. Really brought to life "the night is dark and full of terrors" or "the night is long and the dead come with it".
everybody forgot when Jon said "our enemy doesn't bring the storm, he IS the storm"
and when the WWs were coming up on Sam, Ed, Grenn at the fist of the first men after the 3 horns was a huge could coming towards them, same in Hardhome when all the dogs started barking crazy, and in "Beyond the Wall" when the wight screamed for help there was a huge cloud where the responding wights were screaming from.
No one can kill the knight king, I like it. Clever

Anyone else REALLY enjoy the episode but also feel a tad disappointed that they built up the NK for 8 seasons to have him dealt with in a single episode? I have NO problem with Arya being the one to do it, but just thought he had more depth than just wanting everyone dead & that's it lol.
Same. I liked the episode on its own, but not as a part of a continued story. This is the war between the living and the dead it's been built on as the most important thing that everyone (except the night's watch/jon) has been ignoring and we've watched 7 seasons worth of Jon convincing people how important the threat is and they end it so quickly? There are 3 more episodes left and honestly, they seem pointless at this point. I never cared about who sat on the iron throne cus the show always foreshadowed that the iron throne didn't matter that there was a bigger threat. This should've been the last battle in my opinion.

GroupOfGamersInc194 - the night king was created by the children of the forest to eliminate man kind when they were at war with the first men. Nothing more in depth to him.
We literally already knew the Night Kings motivations, I’ve been saying it for years but people kept telling me I was wrong. The Children of the Forest created him to destroy the realms of men. It was clearly stated. Bran confirmed it. But people are still out here saying “But he can’t be dead, we don’t know what he wants! We don’t know his backstory!” Yes, we do. It just doesn’t matter. Because the great evil isn’t magic or monsters, it’s us. The Children created him to fight a war, a war with humans. It must end with us breaking the wheel. For peace, we must stop the war between men. Calling it now, it will end with a council ruling, not a King or Queen. With seven to rule and make decisions. George said years ago that more that one person would sit in the throne, but only now it’s all becoming clear to me. This isn’t about good vs evil.
always took him for somebody really smart and knew what he was doing. expected alot more from him- why have a dragon if youre gonna just chill in the back i thought forsure either he was making a suprise trip to kingslanding when they didnt show him - otherwise the dragon should be on the front lines how could it not- if he wanted bran dead so badly- just pullup on the dragon and burn him. not saying it would have been satisfying to see that but he was their was nothing of substance to the NK. didnt learn anything about him why he wanted bran dead thought he might speak. i also have no problem with arya being the one just felt like it happened way too fast. also just feels very unlike the NKs nature to fall right into a trap. left me feeling pretty unsatisfied. esp when you add to that that hardly any major characters died when they spent an ENTIRE episode building up suspense for the battle showing the last moments of so many characters we loved - and there was this feeling that you knew alot of them werent coming back but at least we had a final memory of them...but boom they all live. like damn. very unlike GOT to do that
