Finally. Thank you, Greg. Not to be rude towards those who have tried and failed (that is more than I have done), but you lay these difficult concepts out so they are rapidly yet described enough to get rolling on my study. Thank you!
Thank you so much Greg for another precise and informative video. Thanks for a clear picture in a nutshell. Please make another great video focusing the analysis part of qualitative study and use of Nvivo. Keep it up. You are a great educator.
Great video Greg! I'd just add that Thematic Analysis is just one of many ways to analyze qualitative data. Content analysis is quite different, as is a grounded theory analytic approach. A huge amount of content in a concise and understandable nutshell - great stuff.
Thanks for the comment Patricia - always good to hear from you. Hope all is well on your side of the pond. Thanks for the insights re qualitative research
I love qualitative research and usually use mixed methods in my studies (in a case study scenario, with interviews and observations and using thematic analysis). The fundamental point is the integration between the results that comes from both approaches (quanti & quali).
I was interested in your videos from your introduction to research methods but honestly @1:15 got me committed lmaooooo. thank you, you explain it so well.
please please make more videos on qualitative research method, cause i am gonna take my semester exams of Public Health by end of this month. please sir its super helping.
Good evening sir.I am so grateful to see your presentation on UA-cam because I am passing through a lot on writing thesis and paper publication.i would like to have your email to communicate with you sir.thanks
Hi sir...great video and great content😊👌 I would be really glad if you come up with a series of lectures on Research methodology.. I hope you consider my request. Thank you in advance.
Hello Greg. Thank you so much for creating such an informative video. I am a nurse working in New Zealand in a surgical hospital. We are about to have a referendum regarding the legalisation of cannabis here and I am interested in finding how medical professionals feel about this. Do you think that phenomonology would be a good methodology for this type of research? I was thinking to do either interviews or focus groups.
thank you so much Greg .. really appreciate your effort... I really need your help to identify which method used in the article I have ... the study by Ho et al ., 2020 ... it is qualitative research on attitudes and perceptions of morphine in patients and their caregivers ... the authors did not identify the method .. and I have to identify for my exam .. is it phenomenology or grounded theory ?? thank you
Nice to get your video as always- thanks! I wonder whether content analysis is part of data collection method in qualitative research, rather I think it is a part of data analysis section, like thematic analysis. For example, one may use content analysis to analyze data that has been collected by interview.
Crisp, informative lesson. I've observed my colleague working on a qualitative research project from the start and now everything makes sense.I was wondering would softwares such as the speech to text one by Google could be used to transcribe?Would that be accepted? Secondly, what would be the key ethical concerns one would have while working on qualitative research?
Hi there. Interesting questions. I don’t know much about the google speech thing (sorry) and can’t get into a long discussion about ethics here (not enough space). I have a few videos about ethics though
Hi Dr Greg, thanks for your videos I just discovered your channel and I've found them really helpful so far! Any thoughts on how COVID-19 may change future careers in global/public health?
Greetings Sir, I am wondering if I could use my personal observation or experience to construct a case study? because of my research topic it is not possible to collect data from outer sources since the data I require is so personal and confidential.
This is a good explanation. Would you define secondary data sources such as online information and the literature search as under document or content analysis? I would appreciate your feedback.
Sir If I want to make an employee climate survey of an organization based on some selective components will float questions(5 scale responses like more agree, agree, neither nor, agree, and more agree) and based on the response I will do an analysis. Then Is it a quantitative or qualitative survey ?

Great video Greg! I'd just add that Thematic Analysis is just one of many ways to analyze qualitative data. Content analysis is quite different, as is a grounded theory analytic approach. A huge amount of content in a concise and understandable nutshell - great stuff.
