Saul Williams has an elegance that I find mesmerizing. He does much to balance in the hip hop community, much the same as he speaks of here with religion. I am an atheist and was raised Catholic. I remember learning about the practice of family planning where, instead of using birth control, the church insists that women have sex when they least enjoy it so as to decrease the chance of reproducing. For me, religion is flawed for many reasons but I found that rather demeaning.
These days, misogyny has become such a buzzword in the tenants of modern feminism that I actually see the push back going too far. Misogyny is now used to describe domineering, and aggressive masculinity which is something I appreciate in art and music and more so when it is coupled with intelligence and sensitivity. For instance, some would say that the NIN song, "Closer" has misogynistic overtones but I would say is incredibly sexy. I know Saul Williams worked with Trent Reznor and I found that to be a fruitful combo. Thank you for your video.

As a Christian I see it as though the only commonality that exists in all ideologies, beliefs and ways of life is the flawed practice and expression of our beliefs. It's the human element. What is wrong is wrong but I don't believe we have to repulse religion for things that will be found every where. The only reason someone would feel that way about religion is if the person preaching sold a lie or if your personal expectations of God and the way He would interact with you was based on something unbilical. Also if your expectations of the people who you would practice with was also a personal interpretation and not one that is biblical. I always tell people for everything you could hate God for He already warned you of it you just didn't listen.

Does anyone know any resources or links about the Roman Catholic Church and feminism? Something involving what he spoke of when he mentioned the feminine being taken from the holy trinity?
