That's really interesting. I think our reference points for drugs is so removed from context and history that, especially as Americans, we forge that there's a kind of propriety to all these things, a reason, a method, a ritual. Bill Hicks (I know, another Bill Hicks fan, amirite?) said it best when he criticized and cautioned that mushrooms are natural and you should be doing these things in nature, unified with the energy and peace of the world unmarred by urban noise and anxiety. We treat everything like a competition to consume and ingest and waste more than the next person and never stop to consider what the finish line actually is.
DMT only lasts a little bit. Not sure how she listened to a whole album on DMT. Also, according to sources, when you do DMT you pretty much tune out outside stimuli and sink into a self-encompassing experience.
either he's never done dmt, he's never done it successfully, or he doesn't want to talk about his experience. a dmt trip is literally the most profound thing you can experience in this life
You cannot deny the experiences of others. As he says, he was meditating long before he was introduced to psychedelics. I have had revelations through meditation that are on a par with, if not more profound, than a DMT flash. DMT is the most profound experience you can have if you CHOOSE it to be the most profound experience.
...And I just lost all respect for Saul Williams, who I guess is still just insecure Black Stacey. Timothy Leary said he had 2 regrets: not taking enough hallucinogens and not making love enough. In another interview, Saul says he got the Leary quote from an interview, here he words it like he talked to him himself, which wouldn't be all that bad if he weren't putting words in a dead man's mouth that run counter to that man's life devotion. It's downright reprehensible. I think he probably just confused his quotes and is name dropping/embelishing to make himself seem cool. Either way, Saul, you've got a long way to go before you become half as evolved as you pretend to be. Maybe he can get a TV show with his brother from another mother Brian Williams.
