Sausage rolls and other pasty type food stuffs can also be toasted in a toaster. (The microwave does heat them butt the pastry always goes a bit soggy and floppy) I'm surprised you didn't get a coffee from one of those coffee machines that are in most places. "Those food vloggers are a bloody nuisance!" - The petrol station staff (maybe probably).
You are truly a great man. It takes greatness to appreciate the convenience store/gas station hot dog and its lore. The best hot dogs ARE gas station dogs. ❤
In Ireland, we call them petrol stations or filling stations. Also, in most petrol stations in Ireland, there’s usually a hot deli where you can get sausage rolls, jambons, chicken fillet rolls, breakfast rolls or sandwiches, chips and or wedges, even dinners to go. Next to that there’s a cold deli for cold sandwiches and for fillers for the likes of chicken fillet rolls, etc. The rest of the shop is made up with the usual convenience foods like crisps, sweets, drinks, cigarettes, household essentials, etc.
48 hours, only fast food restraunts (chinese, indian, mcd's, kfc, i guess also things where you can get uber eats such as bella italia/prezzo/pizza express etc.)
@@SamWilder. good to hear, yes go on treat yourself you've earned it. good to see your channel getting noticed. Really look forward to seeing new vids.
fun but completely irrelevant fact: when i was pregnant last year, literally all i ate and drank was petrol station slushies, and BLT sandwiches. very frequently id wake up at 3 am and drive an extra 2 miles to a BP garage with a M&S attached to it as they had the best BLTS and a tango ice blast machine. definitely worth it.
That would be a good challenge. It's always a luck of the draw for any really good stuff. And it is useful to know when stores start reducing food stuffs. Yesterday I was lucky. The Tesco staff had just finished reducing the bread and cakes when I got there. I got four packs of doughnuts for £1.38, down from £5.50. (I gave some to my parents).
I've suggested this too. My local Boots used to reduce the perishable food parts of their meal deals to 50p each...best reductions I've seen. Sadly they don't seem to be doing that anymore
Petrol Station Slushes - you usually have to ask the assistant for a cup and pre pay for the slushy first, if it’s a self serve one. Do you not like ask the assistant’s when you are unsure? 😂
So nice seeing a youtuber close to home!!! I recognise some of these places :P New subscriber here and I always look forward to these food challenges, thanks Sam!
The Co-op are suppliers to a few chains including Nisa, Costcutters, and Russell's (who only exist in N.Ireland, but believe me you're missing nothing good).
Gas station hot dogs can be like taking your life in your own hands around where I live. I always assume the display on those roller grills contain hot dogs from the 1990s.
The range of food in petrol stations is convenient but when you’re in a rush to fill up and the people in front are busy doing their weekly shop and selecting their meal deals taking 15 mins, it’s a bit of a joke. Best service station hot dogs are in Norway and Sweden, they are excellent!
I just... eggs... I can't believe you found eggs. I haven't been in a lot of gas stations but my god, all I can say is eggs... Everything else seems standard tho, well edited video man
Are there any plans to do a buying and eating project abroad? Id be interested if someone did a similar thing in Switzerland as its notoriously expensive but you have supermarkets like Migros , Coop (different from the British version) and Denner (which in my time in the country a few years ago was the cheapest supermarket ) Oh what about...eating at Ikea?
As others have said already, you're a brave man to do this challenge! 👏 I recognise those Rollover hotdogs from my local Cineworld! I was surprised but they really are quite nice 👍
American gas stations seem so much better don't they. What we have is ok in an emergency or on the run but I wouldn't like to have to survive in this way nooooo. Good on you for giving this a go🙂
I've worked at a US summer camp a couple of times and the gas station food is ridiculous. Particularly my second time around, all the gas stations in the area seemed to have a Wawa (like Subway but better and more food options), fountain drinks of every variety, every sort of sweets or crisps or bottled drink... The camp food wasn't enough to sustain us so we were essentially having super-sized Subway sandwiches and hotdogs and pizzas every time we had an hour off 🤣
HP Beans were big back in the 60s and 70s, now I think that they are owned by Heinz. HP baked beans they're the beans for me HP baked beans all of us agree HP baked beans that's what we adore and we shout for more, more, more What's the treat we all love best.... HP baked beans
Brilliant vid. Very amusing and well done. As for the "food"....good god....I'd sooner eat my own shoes....god help anyone who actually has to exist on that s**t on a long trip or whatever. Keep em coming....brilliant! 😎😎😎👍
Gotta adjust things sometimes for our American friends so they know what the video is about! We know what a gas station is but many don’t know the term petrol station!
I would consider myself somewhat of a baked bean aficionado, I've eaten every brand imaginable, have a varied knowledge of cooking methods and can consume with almost any meal. I have never, ever added salt to them? Pepper is an added bonus but salt? I'm not so sure man, not so sure at all.
That's the thing about gas station or petrol station food it's expensive and just not safe to eat most of the time because of how they store it and how they cook it.
Eating only gas station food???????????????????? It was mostly like going to a mini market at the gas station and taking it home, which you could have probably done a few yards from your home
Gotta adjust things sometimes for our American friends so they know what the video is about! We know what a gas station is but many don’t know the term petrol station!
I'd be allowed £47 per week. Not so challenging so it would have to be for a fortnight. Or 47p per meal.. all meals different for a week.. now there's a challenge.
As a British man, why do you keep saying 'gas station'? Americans wouldn't use British English and quite right too. Why are you using American English? Have some pride in your mother tongue 🇬🇧
could you please do a budget series of living off pre prepared grocery foods? ready meals, snacks etc doesn't have to be the cheapest either.
Pre prepare your own, much healthier and simple and cist effective 😊
@@Ddisawake not the point of the exercise because not everyone is able to do that hence the idea for the video
For some people that is just their daily life 😂
Commenting for the algorithm, really hope you get the popularity you deserve
Thanks so much! ❤️

The food is cleaner in Ireland
Love this idea!!! Keep up the amazing work 🎉
Just what I needed right now :-) A Sam Wilder Gas Station Food video!!!!!!! Can't wait to watch this.

Love your content. This was a great idea! Looking forward to the next one 😊
Thank you! Love trying things myself that I’ve seen some of my fave content creators do!
I love these. You think them up and I’ll watch them 😊
Won't say the location for privacys sake but we live pretty close near mate, that BP is 4 minutes from my house, nice to see another local creator
Love this and love a random Riley appearance ❤❤❤
appreciate your commitment to these challenges, Im watching while eating a hand made fish pie feeling guilty (only slightly)
Luckily I do eat normally the rest of the time 😂 I also love fish pie. Might have to make one this week.

Loved the challenge, have tried the hot dog and liked it.
Another great challenge idea
I think it’d be a cool challenge to do meals only from yellow sticker foods
That would be a good challenge. It's always a luck of the draw for any really good stuff. And it is useful to know when stores start reducing food stuffs.

that was a good idea a bit different plus a little bit scary food. I would have had that hot dog though
Last time I had a southern chicken wrap I was ill. Never again!
Maybe that’s what almost killed me? :o
Petrol Station Slushes - you usually have to ask the assistant for a cup and pre pay for the slushy first, if it’s a self serve one.
Do you not like ask the assistant’s when you are unsure? 😂
I mean I could have, but an 8am slushie would have been wild!
Loved the video and the hot dog looked amazing! first time I've seen that at a petrol station.
If they had the burger too I’d have got that! But I was pleasantly surprised
Yeah this channel needs to blow up ASAP lol. Been bingeing on your videos!
Ahhh thanks my friend!
So glad to see you, Sam, hi to Carleena and Riley,a Nana from Montana ❣️
Lovely to see you too!!
Love your content but call it a petrol station!

Ah I appreciate it so much! Thanks for the kind words :)
"I am ruling out supermarket petrol stations" ...First two are Co-op and Tesco!
It was a costcutter and a “park and shop” - I did notice the costcutter one stocked co-op stuff though for whatever reason.
@@SamWilder. Oh fair enough!
The Co-op are suppliers to a few chains including Nisa, Costcutters, and Russell's (who only exist in N.Ireland, but believe me you're missing nothing good).
Loved the challenge. Would be nice if you add a tally of all the cost of the food you bought. This would make things more interesting.
OH yes we want to see you eat as much fast food as possible lol :P aha cheers for sharing ❤
You really are up for a challenge 😊 - not sure I could do that one, but the hot dog did actually look good!
Rollover hotdogs are good , I was working next to a fuel station a few months ago and had one every lunchtime for a week 😂
Amazing you're still alive...
Thank you Sam ( intro and the beautiful Riley) x
Gas station hot dogs can be like taking your life in your own hands around where I live. I always assume the display on those roller grills contain hot dogs from the 1990s.
Most likely the wrap IMO. I've been food poisoned from supermarket sandwiches before
3:41 I know what it was aha, never trust chicken from a petrol station 😂

Interesting very good to see.
this video gets recommended to me while I’m waiting for a petrol station subway order.
Pretty much every garage near me these days is a full on takeaway

I suspect because USA is much larger country the gas stations are further apart and you'd expect better and bigger range of food

There is a petrol station in Gravesend Kent that has the best stuff in it. If I remember rightly it had a full chicken shop in it. Was great!

Petrol Station, you are British. Americans do not adjust their terms for the UK.
Gotta adjust things sometimes for our American friends so they know what the video is about! We know what a gas station is but many don’t know the term petrol station!
I reckon they’d be able to figure out what a petrol station is 😂
have you never had a rollover before? they are so dank
You’re really putting your health on the line for these challenges 🙈 can’t believe you went from feeling sick to a hot dog 🌭 🫣
You should do this again but only eating food on the go not food you can cook at home 🎉
roll over hotdogs are so good they sell them at Wigan Athletic stadium best half time scran
Make a meal from poundland would be interesting
Look back a few videos! I did 48 hrs there in December :)
Eggs I mean come on....there not actually petrol station food. You might as well bought a loaf of bread and some bacon as well....
They were bought from a petrol station...

Ginster is totally the number 1 suspect in feeling ropey imho - bloody awful things they make.
At least it wasn’t a Rustler’s!
The last Ginsters I ate made me sick.
I’ve ate them hot dogs so much I can taste it thought the screen 😂
Tasty though right?
Prob a bug
And the hibernation reset the ram😊
You need to shove that Ginsters in the oven to get the pastry right

'I Ate Instant Noodles for a Week! (for some reason)'
Them hotdogs are decent
W Pepsi all day
"There seems to be so much more you can get in an American gas station."

Diabetes.
'Gas station' ffs mate

Cool
A good challenge would be live of your current age. Example if you were 25 living of £ 25 a week.
I’m a fair bit older than that! Would feel like a standard weekly shop 😆
I'd be allowed £47 per week. Not so challenging so it would have to be for a fortnight. Or 47p per meal.. all meals different for a week.. now there's a challenge.
❤
Hotdog needs to be in a soft roll not a baguette 😢
48hrs??? Really???
A 24 hour ration pack can last 48hrs!!!
Do at least 7 days ffs
You know they are called petrol stations. You refer to this fact so just call them petrol stations. You are not American.
Luv me greggs
Why because you fill a car with petrol not gas!
I think you should go bald or very short hair it'd look good mate👍
Don’t
