- HOW TO...
In this video I show you how to clean the in tank pickup or strainer/mesh in your fuel tank.
I am demonstrating on the "Racetractor"... the 306... However the principle applies to many different Peugeots and Citroens and even other marques.
Again I am doing this on a early IDI diesel, however the later DI diesel (HDi) engines still have a little mesh/filter in the tank that gets dirty over time.
Easily forgotten part of your vehicle maintenance!
Thank you for watching...

There is a chance 👍
is there a way on how to clean the fuel Pump ?
billy bob high pressure fuel pump?
Hey mate my fuel filter gets almost a rust look only takes the car a couple of months to do it, the car is driven weekends only..
I just had performance work done to my car and it was running good for a couple months and now when I give it a boot full when I'm in higher rpm it's not getting the power it has feels like maybe not enough fuel..
Do you think the strainer could be clogged? I already just the fuel filter
If it looks rusty either there's bits of metal flakes coming from lift pump, HP pump or injectors or you've got a lot of water in your fuel.
@@PiggyPower Cheers mate will look into it
Bro i have a 9 year’s old diesel engine suv
Now a days i am facing powerloss with check engine warning after each 900-1000 km
I used to turn off engine and start again
Then the check engine and power-loss will disappear and again after 900-1000 km powerloss and check engine will appear
So i scanned my car the code show fuel rail pressure low
The technician told me to clean fuel tank and fuel line
Is this the correct way? Or should I replace fuel pump
Is there lots of junk in the fuel tank?? Or reason to be? Unless you put terrible dirty fuel in your tank regularly.... Something else is causing the low fuel pressure. Could be pump, regulator, dying injectors, lift pump (if you have one), blocked fuel filter... Need to do a proper diagnosis.
Why didn't you clean the top??
Because the top is the top.... Fuel doesn't getting filtered through the top 😬😁
I know but clean it all, I'm OCD, lol
I'm OCD too but I constantly train myself to keep it in check. . . Because once upon a time I'd have cleaned it .... Then realized the top of the tank was dirty.... So is have to drop the tank out the car... Then I'd be fully restoring the underseal.... And forget what I was doing in the first place. 🙈
@@PiggyPower did you clean the tank too?
Noooo... But once upon a time my OCD would have made me. Not any more!! I do thing on purpose to upset my OCD now to keep it in check
