This technique is one of my favorites. I've also placed very small pieces of fine silver on the surface and fused/reticulated and it worked quite nicely. Texture is so much fun to use and gives a unique style that opens great possibilities. I would love to see how you use it in your designs. What a treat to watch and learn. Thank you so much! Love your channel!

You’re welcome Lisa! I love trying to not melt the silver. It’s a challenge but so fun.

I love this and cant wait to give it a try!!! Is there a specific gauge sterling you would recommend I use as a starting point? Thanks Julessa I really needed some inspiration today and you sure delivered!!!🙏❤

Thank you JaNet! I would recommend 20g so you don’t overheat and melt it. Typically the reticulation silver is in thicker gauges.

Great video! Where can I buy a torch tip like that for my Little torch? Thanks!

Thank you Andrea! It’s called a Paige torch tip for Smith Little Torches and you can buy them directly at www.Paige tools.com. I love mine. It distributes the heat very effectively and make soldering so much friendlier 😁

    Great video!
Can you do this process on already made jewelry? I have 925 rings and earrings I wild love to turn into something new. Thanks

Yes, you can melt down your existing silver jewelry and re-make it into something totally new. One recommendation though, add at least half of the weight in new silver to help with the melting and clean the jewelry thoroughly first. For example, if you have 10 grams of silver that is used, add at least 5 grams of new material to it.

I just watched your video and wanted to know if you dip the sheet in boric acid mix to prevent fires Cale? Also, are you heating the silver to a dull red or just the matte white color? It's difficult to tell from the light in the video. Thanks for all your tips and videos.

Hi Carla! Yes, I use flux or boric acid during the heating and then pickle between heatings. I do heat the silver to the anneal temperature which is the dull red color. Great questions! Thank you for watching. 😃
