I LOVE this video and the way you think outside the box with multiple gold layers. I am amazed that this is edible gold 😆 OMG, this is one of my favourite tutorials ever. I also enjoyed all the little videos witnessing your attempts😅😂 those were just the cherry on top of the cake. ❤
I had similar results with one sheet of leaf - just a hint of gold tint. Pretty, but not what I was after. I never even thought of adding leaves together before trying to bond them to the silver. I wonder if folding and hammering them more might make them more durable in the ultrasound? Great tip though. Will definitely give it a go.
I'm glad to hear that my video was at least a little helpful. Thanks for commenting as well. I'm guessing hammering will result in uneven thickness of the gold leaf, but I think it also can be a cool effect if done with the right intentions.😉
Most ppl do this with Keum Boo foil which is a bit thicker and easier to control. The gold leaf looks like a nightmare. Looks great though! Apparently you can also use clearfyre or G-glue to fix it before fusing it.
A bit off topic but I have to ask, did I see you use glue to hold the shank to the top before soldering!?!? I’ve always wondered if that would work - it’s brilliant! What kind of glue did you use?
I love that you show your mistakes! Brilliant

No depletion guilding first? Need to depletion guild first to bring the fine silver comes to the surface.
