I picked one up at blade show on Friday, and when I asked what the numbers mean..... he said it's the total length. 8.78 inches. and the year 2024. Also, the ken onion name is on the inside of the knife on mine.

Ok, so...upon take down, those two pins inside the handle scales rest inside the back spacer holding the knife together. When you remove the body screws on both sides including the pivot screw you have to lift up the back spacer using the lanyard hole. It will pivot upwards to clear the pins then you have to wiggle, or gently pry the scales apart. There are two body pins still holding the scales together. One is the stop pin and the other is the pin going through the backspacer.
Thanks for pointing that out! Around a week or so ago after I did this review already I did see somebody who broke it down and pointed out the purpose of those pins and how it disassembles. Strangely enough early on some people were thinking that they were magnets that held the blade in place, and I quickly dispelled that notion by simply putting a small screwdriver up against them and noticing no attraction!!! 👍🗡️👊

It is a great design. I do think the steel choice is weird though given the level of quality it is.

Pricewise it would have been way higher had they went with a higher grade steel. The action is really good, and the milling. I'm very happy with mine
