O my god, Borneo 1834! I would love a bottle of that, but there are so expensive now. I remember smelling it the first time, a real slap in the face. Oud Infini is challenging, I would have liked a small decant to keep as a reference, but I was not ready to part with 400 eur when they decided to discontinue it. They say "Montri",also from Dusita, is sort of a more wearable Oud Infini, so maybe that would be more down your alley. PS: If you like Panettone, you should try "Panettone" by Milano Fragrance...
You’re exactly right! I guess it was a gap I finally felt in the mood to fill (trying hard not to make this sound dirty). I’ve been organizing my fragrance by category, the citrus/neroli shelf and the green/woods shelf were about twice as full as the dark/amber/patch shelf, but now it’s catching up!

Great pick ups.... You perked my ears up with the SÅND fragrance.... Went to the site. I like how they offer Parfum and EDT and several sizes. The Patch you picked up is EDT? Or Parfum ? Curious which concentration they do better ... Anywho hope your enjoyed your holiday. Cheers ✌🏻🙏🏻
Wow I never noticed they have different concentrations for some of them! Patch only comes in one concentration. I was also reading up on their website and it says they now ship the solid perfume to the U.S. although I’m not too interested in that. Indigo is sold out of a lot now but I recently found another store based in Montreal that sells the brand and ships free to the U.S. called Parfums Exquis. I’ve just ordered the full discovery set from them, so more vids to come about the brand!

I have a feeling you’d like musc extrait from Bruno Acampora. Everyone says it smells like mushrooms but for me it was a cold patchouli with an earthiness. Have you come across any scents with a patchouli similar to Paris-Deauville? I am addicted to THAT kind of patchouli. I’ve tried other Chanels but their patchouli notes are either too cold or too sweet. Deauvilles is very sparkly and green. I know nothing about Susan Kauffman(?) but I will have to see if she’s made any other perfumes. The whole alpine herbal vibe is very appealing to me. Sucks you don’t come across many scents like that out there.
Got my eye on Borneo as I like greener patchoulis maybe a silly question but how 'wearable' is it? I have FM Monsieur and like it but feel i can only wear it certain situations
To me Borneo is very wearable. I find a lot of Lutens have a big bang at the start then become quite soft and gentle. It is a lot more wearable and quieter than Monsieur, I can’t see anyone finding it challenging unless they really hate patchouli or cacao. My only complaint is I wouldn’t mind the galbanum playing a bigger role, it burns off pretty quickly and most of the wear is warm cacao and patch.
Nice, solid pick ups. The ånd fragrances are really interesting, I have their Sandalwood, picked up last year, being a Constantine the ingredients are quality and sustainable. Even his Gorilla/Lush shouldn’t be overlooked, Sikkim Girls could easily be mistaken for a Lutens. Shame you didn’t get the Jasmine kick you were after, for that you should try Sarrasins, that’s a beautiful jasmine. My year of new pick ups was dominated by a myrrh fad I had this year followed by Rose and incense then incense, too numerous to mention but a current charmer is Dies Aurorae, can’t get enough of it. Picked up Rauque a couple of months ago not expecting it to get the reception it is now, it’s a great wear, will keep you interested, another is Risk by Azman. Just when I thought not much else of interest could be released then these come along! Absolutely right on the dosing application, so many get it wrong on fragrances by being heavy handed, just a couple of sprays is enough on some, too heavy and you lose the multi- faceted aspects. Risk in the reviews so many get hung up about the Oud accords, that’s a sure fire overspray, making it one dimensional. Just a little and then that scent unfolds.

I just checked and it does say Thierry Mugler, then I checked the batch code and check fresh shows Sept 2014. Looks like I got lucky with this one!
