In Bloodborne, you actually can parry healing, or be parried yourself.

@@mmoogl3547 it was 5 tries I believe, she got it done the 2nd time she got the 2nd gargoyle to spawn. She just explored other areas and died to the trash mobs on the way.

@@orangecobraEU Good catch, a new player would have never figured that out unless they used a guide or knew beforehand about the thing, she might have seen someone else do it ona video or something, true blind playthrough hard to find nowadays. She is so chill though i like her.
@@tzzeek It's not a good catch. unsurprisingly, people use consumable without needing a guide.
When said consumable promises more damage, it makes sense to use it for a boss. Hell, I did the same thing way back when.
It's so wholesome to see new people play a Souls game. It's even better to see them assisted.

I remember watching Emiru run some super mario stuff against Mizkif and totally show him up. I'll never underestimate her again. Dark souls isn't ready for her.

@@xstreampunk7662 only boss in DS1 that requires you somewhat getting good is Ornstein and Smough. Before and after that you dont need to do shit. I know cause i played through the game without getting good several times

I am so grateful that Asmon tried DS1 back in 2018. Before I was always a bit hesitant if these type of games were for me. Asmon gave me the courage to try it and not be afraid to fail. 4 years later I have beaten ALL the FromSoftware games and still replay the games from time to time.
Dark Souls 1 was my first ever Soulsborne and watching this feel so nostalgic

She's actually insanely good for a new player my only pain I feel is her not letting her Stamina regen I was dying 😢.
True I only played the newer souls like elden ring and sekiro so not sure how to compare how hard this would be for a first time player she’s better then normal from what I see with timing and rolls and when to attack

yeah no i first time played souls series in ds1 back in 2019 and she died more in the first third of the game than i did in my entire playthrough

As much as I realize that he is just here to help the org, I respect the wholesomeness and care he is taking to this while still allowing it to be entertaining to watch.
He should react to his own first playthrough to feel the pain we all felt.

I love when she finally cleared the Gargs she was like, "That's it?" Lol, that's what Dark Souls does to you. When you finally get everything to click, it suddenly becomes easy. The deaths to reach that level of understanding is the hard part.

I have legit never seen a souls novice parry so well. never in my dreams could I parry that well after a couple thousand hours in souls games.
The real good content is watching Emiru react to Asmon reacting to Emiru playing Dark Souls
Not really into watching Emiru, nice as she is. HOWEVER I could absolutely watch her play through the dark souls games. I would binge it. She can be pretty funny and isn't half bad at it. If she made it to DS3 and ER it would turn epic af!
bet.. i also didn't watch emiru but it is fun when someone new attempt to clear souls game because players have been in that position before.

I like her spirit as well ! And I didn't know who emiru was, until 2 days ago when I saw (her) the short with the taurus demon.
I always love the "Why is there a second health bar?" moments.
No joke Emiru is really good at this game. It took me waaay longer to get parrying down. I didn't even know how it works until like halfway through the game.
It's always so fun to see some new blood playing some Dark Souls. I don't know anything about Emiru, but she played a hell of a lot better than I did my first time around.
One main thing she needs to work on is stamina management. She keeps button mashing and running out and not retreating to recover. Also, she needs to learn moveset and get better at reading when to parry, block and dodge.
Yeah she over spams buttons coz she doesn't take notice of how far away the hitbox is
she also needs to learn to estus during attack windows
@@eiwhaz-tina6528 i think it's more due to her general lane of gaming. She's an MOBA player, and everyone that i know that doesn't play games like Souls, spams the shit out of the buttons like they are playing MK or Street Fighter. She will hopefully learn the Souls game engines don't take kindly to button spamming, as it doesn't allow for chained button combos that encourage the spamming, and the animations can't be interrupted except by actions outside the players control. She needs to watch some elite Souls players play and pay attention to their handling, see how fast yet precise they are. Only time they button smash is to use an exploit.
@@Ghorda9 indeed. She picks bad moments to eat us, or thinks because she's retreated a distance she has time. Some of those opps are faster than the PC, and will catch up too fast to estus.
@@jpisback Yeah totally. Besides souls are not hack/slash. Unless u have a really hardcore dexterity based build. But most people go tanky on their first playthrou so

Another hard day of work in the Dark Souls Internship Program.
The true dark souls veterans like myself remember playing before the game was patched. Earning half the xp half the drop rate and enemies dealing 2x the damage and harder to kill lol. Made me rage so hard after o conquered the gargoyles pre patch while everyone after the patch had luxury
I feel internal pain every time i see her heavy attack instead of riposte when she parries
I die every five seconds and she just walks innocently through...
Kicking the Baldur knights during their parry stance is a really good move. One I never even thought of. I'd never even try it just because I'd be worried about accidently light attacking instead and getting obliterated.
Emiru is so hot also a good dark souls player for her first time.
Enjoyed the commentary more than I expected.
Shes infinetly better than me in my first playthrough. After a while i cheesed the game with a club and jump attack 🤦🏽♂️ the progress one makes is just awesome
When I started back in Demon's Souls, I never got good at doing back stabs, or maybe I just like sword and shield more, which I stuck to. In DS1, I tried parrying, and again, I couldn't do it consistently. Since then, I have always stuck to 2 hander with sword and shield optional. Being able to parry consistently is actually quite impressive and actually takes more skills to play that way.

Her reactions and positioning are pretty good. The roll directions need work. With how competent she is and her lack of raging, she can beat DS1 easy. Worst part for her will be bed, unless she gets lucky and 1 shots.

Capra Demon beat my ass in for days. I found about the stairs tactic and it still didn't help. Those fkn dogs would hold me up just long enough for him to go ape on me.
Capra demon is a boss I won't forget because of it. Now I'm traumatized and freeze up when I fight him 😂
I wish that someone would told her not to put her shield up so much since it stagger stamina regeneration... if not for that she would have done it a whole lot better

She's amazing. I finished DS1 without successfully parrying anyone at any point. Pyro cheese and Zweihander bonks. Don't think that's gonna get me through NG+ though. O&S are spanking me.
she does whats most important when learning these games, "be very calm" when you dye and treat it like normal game progression... which she was doing amazingly well. shes got good gamer brain. most ppl would be quitting after 10 deaths or less, but shes at like 200 in 2 days or something lol. She gonna make it if she keeps throwing emself at it.

best opening boss is definitely the gargoyle bosses in ds1,,,, each of them are not that crazy op but having to fight 2 of those is too much... ds1 as a first soul game for me is just perfect

The one mentality that I have beaten myself into having in Souls games is to just say fuck my souls whenever I enter a boss fight. I die to a boss I am never going to retrieve my souls after entering that fog door again. It's gone and done with.
I focus on the boss always. Elden ring makes things easier by mostly eliminating the run ups but still, I never just run for my souls after entering a boss room because they become a distraction so I just don't run for it.
I am so down bad for emiru
I remember on the first Bosses on Dark Souls, they took our lunch money and shoved both me and my brother into lockers. Now, I think as long as I time my dodges and watch their attack patterns I can beat them now.

Demon statues are actually easy af when you block with 100% physical shield. Just hold the shield up and run around it body to body and wait for the window to strike. Repeat till it's dead.
Everything I want in life is to watch Asmon watch Emi play the Dark Souls.

Man I miss Dks1, and especially Dks1 pvp. A lot of people give up on the pvp because it's hard to understand without explanation of the tech and netcode, is it jank? Yep. Is it fun? Yep.

Hopping on to a Dark Souls game for the first time, you’ll have frustrating growing pains.
No way Elden Ring is harder than Dark Souls with all those Spirit Ashes that can literally solo bosses for you while you starfish gesture in the middle of the boss room.
That's the whole point of ashes to make it easier, if you really want a challenge you wouldn't use any of the ashes.

Souls games r gonna give me a heart attack the most frustrating and hardest games you’ll ever play makes me wanna smash my PS5 at time but i recently started playing these games my first was bloodborn I gave up on then elden ring I got to elden beast and gave up now im trying demon souls remake I love the games but with my anger issues it makes me super mad def gotta go back and beat bloodborn and elden ring it’s the last big boss I gotta kill to fully have completed it
I believe her Taurus jumping off the edge is actuall bad for her, because there are some steps you learn with him that she now has to learn with Gargoyles in Addition to the fight itself.

the way Asmon is reacting is exactly how I felt when watching his first time through DS1. It was absolutely miserable every step of the way. The only difference is that at least Emiru has more cognitive function than Asmon (due to the fact that Asmon plays WoW)

Sekiro is the easiest in the sense of you feeling powerful, its definitelly simplier to get into, but maybe difficult to master for you

I still need to play this myself, I started on DS2 and haven't tried this or Demon Souls, but I've heard things about both games.
DS2 is like the lowest of the entire soul series. DS1 is one of the best even with age.
