Yah it does hold well I have the heavy duty spike and I didn’t have any problems and I went into an area with a lot of tidal movement and it still held the boat on a reef.
I still have it and took it out a couple weeks ago but didn’t find any fish to make a video on and with my limited time off due to being a nurse during this pandemic and having a child running out in the boat is just a little easier and faster to try and find some fish. I will still make videos on it!

I would consider using steel studs.
Luckily the main building is red iron so no wood will be used except for the framing of the actual living quarters which is only 30x30.
