I think intelligence is just meant to indicate more spell charges. It's not programmed to do anything. It's just to hint to the player that there's a correlation between intelligence and spell charges in order to distinguish red from black mage.
~1:01:50 -- THIS might be a case where BOTH the Red Wizard and Ninja could be useful (or two Red Wizzards). A NON-broken Temper spell might be REALLY overpowered (it IS in PR, if with the expception of Chaos which they made like 100x more powerful)
Temper is actually very power in every version of the game when it works. If you plan to kill anything with melee attacks in later games you always temper a bunch then one/two shot the boss.
That is what the NES does. I don't know all of the specifics but it is how the game is displayed on the NES. Most TV's back then didn't show that part of the game on screen so it wasn't an issue back in the day.
@@shanezell Hmm, interesting. I looked back at your earlier videos and I didn't notice any glitching. You increase the screen size recently? Or maybe it's the screen resolution? In your older FF1 Videos the Characters looked bigger and brighter.
Flashing of the spells used to hurt my eyes good that there is less of that. BTW can you stop the fan when you record it makes a lot of distracting lights during the video.
The game as intended was designed by the seat of their pants. And then it would have been the "Final Fantasy" instead of 30 games later. #Squaresoft But imagine being born in Iran to a wealthy Iranian family and you got to skip out on suffering/death in Iran during the revolution and instead you got a free pass to the United States to study computer science. But you're also somehow friends with Doug Carlston the owner of Broderbund(Don't start if you're not a child of the 80's/90's). But Doug Carlston also happens to know people at Square? And, the founder and president of Square at the time was also named Miyamoto. What are the odds of that? Along with Hironobu Sakaguchi being a fanboy of yours. #simulation #Nasir Anyway, you're not doing this run if Nasir didn't have to program this game on a cocaine binge in 3 weeks back in 1986. Which is great. You're a baller. And still shorter than your 4 Knight run.
Hey! I make The Legend of Zelda (NES version 8-bit) ROM hacks and would love to see you try to tackle one. They are tricky and challenging. Definitely will make you think at times. I can E-mail you one if you would be up for the challenge. I changed shops, dungeon locations, dungeon items, dungeon maps, outside world map, secrets and more. I would enjoy watching you play a blind play through it
Damn you're good doing ice cave in less than 2 hours with no casualties
it is crazy how different the game would have been and honestly it would have been too easy IMO.
If I had a nickel for every time he explained that “intelligence stat isn’t a bug”… 😂
People ask all of the time, like you can't fix what isn't broke my guys.
I got a job and I should typically be there when you're streaming. I'll catch you when I can.

Intelligence is how big the white mages tittays are.
Yay! The game played as intended!!

ironically, fog could have also been useful (Which is normally quite worthless since it's broken)
@@roymerkel8008 Fog isn't broken when the player uses it, only when enemies use it.

Why does the graphics glitch when the character is moving up and down on the screen in this version?

@joshuabramlett606 In the older videos I used an emulator that cut off the top and bottom 8 pixels of the game automatically.
@@shanezell Ah ok. Makes sense. I was just worried something was wrong with my computer at first.

I'm sorry that it is distracting for you but it is way too hot here in Texas for me to not have the fan on.
I'm not sure if I would play this. While this is the intended way to play, it was balanced with the game broken.
@@briankarcher8338 I completely agree, I enjoy the game much better playing as it was released.
