Dr Anthony, I told my doctor I was on the carnivore diet and she walked off and sent her nurse practitioner to deal with me. She was just a pill pusher and I refused her pills she wanted nothing more to do with me.

I'm really sorry to hear that, that's really poor behavior on the part of your doctor. Just remember that doctors work for you, not the other way around. They are your employee, they are there for your benefit. They are not providing you benefit, you go to somebody else. If enough people recognize this and only choose to see doctors who are actually providing benefit for them, they will have to change their attitude quick or be out of a job.

@@terrifictomm My ability to handle triggers has increased drastically. I still have sensory sensitivities and other special needs, but it really is like night and day. My suicidality is gone. I was chronically suicidal my entire life (common for those of us on the spectrum). I’ve had more attempts than I can count. I actually want to be alive now. I still have bad days of course, but it’s different now. I’m able to confront life’s challenges much better than I used to. So happy for you.
I believe all young couples planning a family NEED this method of natural therapy.
I get suicidal thoughts as I fell 8.5m off a ladder in 2011.
I still spend 21-22 hours a day in bed as that’s the only place I can get some relief from my chronic spinal pain.
I’ve seen so many Drs it’s not funny.
Actually I’m about to see Dr David Johnson and his team in Brisbane soon and hope that there is a non surgical solution
I’ve had 37 operations so far. They can be a good solution, but they can be a waste of money of worse cost you your life (unlikely though).
After starting starting a STRICT self imposed 3 month “trial” (I told myself I would not change my plan till the 3 month mark-that was a top idea! and I believe key to my success. Of course you HAVE to be DAMM determined to succeed and NOT cheat. I stayed the course. Sure it wasn’t easy, after all it took decades of abuse to get to that state (type 2 diabetes, etc etc etc. HbA1c 8.7-now 5.4, likely lower. Was 154kg, now almost 9 months later 99kg).
After doing Lion for 4 weeks I started weaning of Agomelatine (antidepressant) over the next 2 weeks.
So after ONLY 6 weeks I was off multiple meds!!!
Did 50/50 Lion/Carnivore and I’ve noticed that if I eat 2/3 consecutive meals of crumbed steak that the carb addiction comes back and after 3-4 it’s bloody strong. It’s actually quite frightening how incredibly powerful bloody carbs are.
So I no longer have ANYTHING crumbed.
      It tastes way better anyway.
I was in a shocking bad mental state just prior to doing Lion, but now my mental health (and of course metabolic health) is so so much better.
I’m so glad you shared your story.
      Thank you.
I hope many others can get better too.

I really enjoy the "benefits" of my autism, hyperfocus, elevated cognition and pattern recognition; despite its drawbacks like social anxiety, poor social skills, etc. I think the lion diet completely eliminated my anxiety without removing my "gifts", I feel superhuman, I don't see my autism as a disability, nor as a superpower, I'm just different, and the lion diet saved me from so much pain, but it hasn't "cured" me from autisum, and I don't want to be "cured" from autism!

    • @saltedllama2759

I would wager you don't actually have autism anymore. This is just your brain functioning at its proper capacity. Autism isn't what does that. It also didn't cause your social anxiety, an improper diet led to dysfunction in your hormone levels, which a red meat diet corrects in so many ways.

@@goosegirl941 I agree -- my youngest daughter is almost 44, and has a three-year-old's vocabulary -- she basically functions on the level of a three-year-old. I can't consider that a super power, either. I've often wondered if the so-called 'high-functioning' autism is actually autism at all. Not to downplay their difficulties, but I've heard too many people who call themselves high-functioning autistic claiming that autism isn't really a disability, just a different way of being. In my opinion, they've never encountered real autism.
My daughter and I have been on strict carnivore for several weeks (we started over a year ago with carnivore/keto), and she is doing much, much better, but she's probably never going to be able to function independently.

@@goosegirl941I concur with you. My daughter is level 1. Can be honor roll, or high honor roll.. whatever that means but behavior can fall back to the toddler like appreciation for toys and other behaviors that rule her out of many social circles. She has little instinctual recognition for danger, especially social. We have others in my wife’s circle of friends who have autism. One 13 year old daughter is non verbal, another boy at two years was just diagnosed with ASD, and most tragically a friend of hers 20 year old daughter wanted so bad to live on her own rented a small house in the country, met a guy online who ended up raping and murdering her. I would put the social recognition near the top of the list in terms of enhanced risks that those on ASD spectrum are especially vulnerable.

@@kathleensanderson3082 I feel for you and your daughter, but before disbelieving someone for saying they are autistic just because they aren't suffering as much as your daughter, please keep in mind that, firstly, if they were diagnosed by a professional, then there must have been genuine issues that resulted in that diagnosis, and secondly, it's called autism *spectrum* disorder for a reason. We should be helping each other and praising each others' victories, not casting doubts on each other.

Exactly!!! It took me a long time as a nurse to finally figure that out, and when I did, I quit! Profit is made from ILLNESS, not health, so there is no incentive at the top to keep us healthy! MD's are not taught in school to address the primary cause (proper nutrition, diet, etc.), only to treat the symptoms with medication or surgery. The cause is avoided and not addressed -- only the symptoms are treated with medications that cause other diseases and symptoms. This keeps us sick and unhealthy while the profits continue rolling in. Only a very few MD's have thought outside of what they have been taught and addressed it, such as this channel, Anthony Chaffee.

Many of the challenging aspects of autism are now significantly milder and completely manageable. As autistic people, so many of us struggle because we're much more sensitive to literally everything, including food. I wish more people understood the importance of nutrition and had the drive to implement and stick with it.

120 days Carnivore today!🎉❤🥩🥚🥓🍖 44 yo female, dropped from 137-120# in that timeframe.
My chronic UTIs I've had since I was 4 yrs old, and flared up again in 2021. I feel amazing and I'm glad I found this lifestyle before my Dr tried to prescribe my 1,000th antibiotic for something that wasn't the issue here. Something in me said antibiotics were NOT the answer and would never be the thing that healed me. I was oxalate poisoned and seed oils sensitive. If I accidentally get any seed oils on meat cooked at a restaurant I instantly feel like there are pins and needles and razor blades in my bladder, you can't tell me that has to do with bacteria. Everything to do with seed oil toxicity, also nightshades set me off big time, so I avoid them as well. Kind of dirty carnivore, I do occasionally eat pickles and olives and I do drink a latte in the morning with heavy cream. Thanks, Dr Chaffee!! I'm so grateful and I share your videos all the time with patients in my clinic. I'm a HBOT tech. This is so very interesting. I myself am autistic, but no one else in my family are diagnosed as such. And i read and heard that it is genetic; maybe-maybe environmental factors. Maybe genetics can predispose, but not cause autism? If so, that would be a relief, in the event that i would rear children. An unlikely thing to happen, but not impossible. Armed with this knowledge and lifestyle, perhaps my offspring would avoid this maldevelopment.
Furthermore: i am one of those that can attest to the positive effect this way of eating has on my general function. I've felt significant improvement in cognition, coping better with mental fatigue; being overwhelmed/overstimulated, less tense in social settings (i'd tighten up just being around others in general - not even interacting with anyone - sometimes). Less bothered by it now. Also absorbing and processing information, learning and getting used to things (these are difficulties with my developmental diagnose) is generally easier. Not groundbreaking change, but any noticable improvement is very welcome.
Didn't really expect that at all. Maybe some mental clarity, because i already knew the brain functions better on ketones, to a degree (i've been on keto before). I was anticipating the most greater and more consistent energy and strength, but not quite to this degree. I had always struggled with appetite, energy and motivation, unless i was under the influence of substances. All these have, like many others, improved significantly:
-I'll gladly eat a kilogram of really rich and fatty meat in one sitting, which was unheard of for me before. Sometimes i'll even feel like eating more after such a meal.
-The energy doesn't seem to stop at all. Only muscle fatigue, sleep fatigue and being short of breath seem to be factor of being.. well, fatigued. But the energy is still there, ready to go when the fatigue fades.
-I've been thin as a rail my whole life. I seem to be putting on some muscle rapidly, and getting more "gaunt" facially at the same time. And i'm not really trying hard to achieve it, either. It's really quite strange, but also a welcome change. I also feel stronger and more forceful than i have before. Sometimes i'd feel weak when clenching my fist, for instance. Now i don't notice that anymore.

Which is understandable, after a lifetime of having "red meat and saturated fat is dangerous" mushed into your head all your life. But it's great they're giving it a shot. One has diabetes, and the other is genetically predisposed. Maybe it'll save/lengthen, certainly improve their lives if they bear long.

You can be metabolically unwell and thin at the same time. It’s not about appearances, it’s about metabolic health.
Ketone is a much safer, required “fuel” and is opposite to Glucose.
In fact if the total level of sugar (50/50 glucose/fructose) in the entire bloodstream exceeds the 4 grams threshold the body responds by inflammation.
That’s why low carb is so popular as the liver metabolises carbs into blood glucose.
Ketogenic diets (many variations) are low carb.

I agree on the inclusion of meat. 🥩 I think it’s very important. I do also agree that mitochondrial dysfunction is at the root of autism, but there we diverge. I have had 5 children all naturally. I believe autism is caused by the epidural being given too early and being used too often and this delaying the oxygen path of the baby. I believe this adversely affects obese women and their babies as they are more likely to get the epidural, be unhealthy and have an unhealthy baby who may be overweight. Your arguement in autism doesn’t stack up at these obese women are NOT on plant based diets in my experience, they eat a lot of red meat (but that’s not the problem!) they eat excessive carbs and sugar. I agree with you guys on everything else. I think meat should be included in all diets. I think carnivore suits men better than women but overall it is a brilliant diet (I do keto) ❤ great interview!🎉

My daughter is autistic, and I didn't have any medications when I was in labor with her. Nor was I obese at that time. We had quite a low income at the time (my husband was an enlisted man in the Air Force; our income was about $500/month then, 44 years ago), and while I did my best to make sure we had a healthy diet, I was also following what was then accepted wisdom about what a healthy diet was. We used margarine and shortening and vegetable oils, combined grains and legumes to get a 'complete' protein, and so on. Now I know that that was bad advice, but back then it was what we were taught.

I think you are all missing one important factor, in almost all cases things like this are multifactorial. It’s more that we are saddened beyond belief, that while following government and health guidelines of the day in good faith, that we damaged not only our own health, but that of our as yet unconceived or unborn child.
You cannot fathom the grief, guilt and regret that this new information causes. My daughter is 30 years old, non-independent ASD, and a beautiful soul, but I wouldn’t wish her childhood experiences of bullying and alienation on my worst enemy. Thank goodness her memory process allows her to completely ignore this aspect of her early life. She is however keenly aware of her own loneliness and lack of close friends, and the socialisation issues behind this.
Yes, there will be mothers and fathers (their poor health/sperm health is also a contributing factor) the world over who are becoming pissed off, angry, furious about this - but not at themselves and rightly so. We were duped by the governments and health professionals, many of whom also thought they were doing the right thing.
It is now that we need to add our voices to get the health professionals and governments to listen and take notice of the newest research. We need to get to a point where there are no conflicts of interest, and no funds received from food manufacturers, sellers or lobby groups, pharmaceutical companies, or anyone with a vested interest in keeping the general population unhealthy.

I think poor glucose and insulin control is damaging the blood vessels and circulation long before you are told you are a diabetic or prediabetic. We end up with impeded blood flow throughout the entire system and it creates the cell danger response so the mitochondria are not functioning properly…. Or when mitochondria are operating properly the blood flow is optimum, as when you dive into all literature , it states that mitochondria produce nitric oxide, and nitric oxide increases blood flow. If we have impeded blood flow in our bodies in certain areas it we would create a sort of panicked/ un easiness in the parasympathetic nervous system. Anyways just some incomplete thoughts from someone trying to figure out what’s ailing them. It’s really interesting how much has come out and challenges the main stream media propaganda.
Here’s a weird experience, I had to all of the sudden stop caffeine as sometimes it would make me have very strange/large heart beats and also weird neurological symptoms. I was pretty desperate for a supplement for energy so I had a friend bring me back meldronium from Eastern Europe. Meldronium is a canitine synthesis blocker. It’s supposed to make to you run on glucose and have “and endless energy” well it made my heart go bananas, just like caffeine did, no medical professional can tell me why that is.
I think it’s a mitochondrial problem because of not being able to switch between fuel sources. Anyone?

After watching 1000's of hours of these doctors. Here's what I'd do if I was starting over. This is just my opinion, and it is not medical advice. If the reasoning applies to your situation, then use these suggestions as a starting point for additional research.
If the issue is hunger, try eating carnivore foods whenever you get hungry until you are full. I've heard this referred to as "priming" by some in this space. Your appetite will normalize after some time. Your body is trying to get nutrient deficiencies resolved. Let it do its thing. Some people even make "travel bacon" to get through this part.
If the issue is from electrolyte loss (aka the keto flu), use more salt and/or consider quality electrolyte drinks like LMNT. As you progress, you'll grow to need less salts, depending on your particular biology. Some people just seem to need more even after fully adapting.
If the issue is withdrawal from the taste of sweet (which does appear to be a real thing for some people), try using some carb free flavored water or sparkling water like la crox. Once you've transitioned, you can ween off those if you want.
Finally the last suggestion I see from some of these docs is to consider weening yourself down to keto and then carnivore over several weeks instead of jumping right in. So, your body has more time to transition.
Hopefully, you can get a real answer from a professional instead of a lay person like myself. I may watch this stuff often and read a few medical papers, but for me, it's just a hobby.

@@anthonychaffeemdI assumed he meant bc you're a doctor in peak physical shape, which just goes to show how rare it is. I wouldn't call Dr. Chris Palmer a "bro," altho I love it for him that he would be grouped as such bc I'm sure he'd find it amusing. 😄😄
