Just like Chuck Norris in that Bruce Lee movie. Chuck blocked everything Bruce had and gave until Bruce was almost gone...until Bruce ripped out Chuck's cheat hair. Then Chuck's character was robbed of the Chuck Norris power and became like any other mortal man, falling quickly to Bruce Lee.

He was probably the most powerful after he took Caspian and Cronos's heads. But the "Connor Upgrade" let him be a vessel for Connor's spirit during the fight.
@@josephmort4039 Kell was more powerful even when Duncan had Conor's quickening. The only reason, and I mean the ONLY reason, Kell lost is because he got cocky and decided to play that stupid "lifetime torture" game with Duncan. (Where he lets him live so he can torture him by killing the ones he loves). If Kell legitimately went for the kill when he had the chance there would've been no stopping him. So basically Kell caused his own downfall. As for the whole "Connor's Spirit" thing, that was a deus ex machina if I've ever seen one. Very silly.
There was still this weird guardian guy from the last movie...... Was it "The Source" or something the like?
I've seen that one only once.
Either way that guy gave everyone an extremely hard time because he had the power of ridiculousness.
I actually completely forgot how he was defeated in the end.

@@TeeJayDesastron Well, Duncan spun around him a lot and the guy was spinning to keep him in front a bore himself into the ground. Then he demanded that Duncan kill him and Duncan refused because he was done cutting off heads... then Duncan and his girlthing like... flew off or ascended or did some spiritual crap. It was an awful movie, made even worse by attaching Highlander to it.

I always found it awesome that XP was transferred to an immortal when he or she won. It kind of gives hope to the rookies that if they get lucky, they can catch up with the older veterans.
All you have to do is kill one who has taken a lot of heads and you get all the power be had.
It's not just experience, but memories and skills as well. This means that the veteran Immortals could easily pick up 100s of different sword fighting techniques over their "Immortal lifetime". If they survived long enough that is. There were SEVERAL uber-Immortal villains that tried to go for high scores. :/

In a 1992 magazine article before the start of Highlander the series , the producers said that Duncan's adventures takes place in a Parallel universe. Thus this Connor is not the same one as the original film .
The film franchise itself is all alternate universes.We have 1-2 as one world.Then 1 3 which is another sense 3 ignores 2.Then 1 this one an series an 5 which is another then the animated worlds.Highlander is all a multiverse its a choose your own adventure.
That doesn't matter anymore. They're rebooting it, I have no idea what is the status of it.

Or perhaps it's better to say 2 was the worst in terms of storytelling, 5 was the worst in terms of competent moviemaking. It was so bad I don't even remember the story, to be honest. I couldn't follow it through the distraction of the horribly disjointed production and filming "techniques".

The only movie Highlander is Highlander I, from 1986. With start and end in the same film. Conner received the award after killing Kurger, and there were only the two, as is clear in the film.
As the film was a tremendous success, they decided to make sequences without any sense. Highlander 2,3 and 4 is meaningless.

Boy I got into highlander when I was about twelve watching the 3rd one on Digital cable and seen what look like an energy dragon shooting up into the air and going into Connor after he took Kane's head this by far is the best one they should of had Duncan lifted up into the air HAVING HIS FACE SWITCH BACK FROM DUNCAN TO CONNORS SCREAMING along with the ENERGY DRAGON ROARING SWIRLING AROUND DUNCANS BODY THEN SHOOTING UP INTO sky exploding IT open from all the RAW POWER!!!!!! THIS QUICKENING WAS ICE COLD!!!

It's unblockable if you're honorable (a hidden blade isn't consider honorable to them) and the villian in this movie was supposedly the first 'unhonorable' highlander. He killed on sacred ground in this movie too and wasn't supposed to do that.
Jacob Kell spent hundreds of years mastering and learning all he could to always best Connor MacLeod. Connor taught Duncan this technique. It's barely a wonder how Jacob would know how to counter it.

To immortals, absorbing Kell's quickening must be the equivalent to win the lottery,lol. He was on the lead with so much power accumulated.
Quality over quantity. Yes, Kell was powerful, more than Duncan could ever be without Connor, but Connor was right up there Kell. Connor didn't just kill underlings and low level immortals, he has Kurgan, Kane, General Katana (if you count it, which many don't) and many other immortals of various levels.
He had 666 kills.
Yes, that’s what I thought too. But it’s hard to remember that there are two or three separate Highlander canons, making it very hard to tell them apart.
Or his Quickening was like seeing into God’s domain and knowing that it’s beyond what they were told.

The look on Jacob Kell's face when he not only heard Connor MacLeod's voice from Duncan but also saw Connor's face on Duncan before Duncan got Jacob's head and his power before Connor truly left during the quickening.
That was Jacob's biggest mistake Connor and Duncan's true power comes from the people they lost and making them proud
After all that is how Duncan defeated the demon who killed Richie by using Duncan as a weapon by being at peace for everyone he loss and making them proud by not letting people like Jacob to win no matter what

Jacob Kell tried to make Duncan lose his confidence when he dropped something that Duncan‘s wife,Kate,had worn which was a gift to her after they got married. Good thing Duncan defeated Kell with aid from Connor,who was there literally in spirit and in Duncan until Kell was beaten before finding out that Kate was spared from losing her head.
Damn that was one powerful quickening!

From what I understand the original script was awesome. Immortals were breaking the rules, teaming up, and then like six of them join together to fight Kell. Who knows if it's true, but if you watch one of the early trailers there's a bunch of stuff that didn't make it into the movie, including what looks like magic.

Kell was becoming so powerful that it was causing so much panic, so other Immortals began breaking the rules (since the reason he was so strong was because he was breaking the rules as well). I think the use of magic in the early trailers was connecting back to Highlander 3, since Connor took that from Kane.
im glad that they kept magic out of the film. the only magic in the tv show was implied. seeing kell have superpowers and multiplying himself was stupid. it's good that they left out all of that sorcerer crap from 3. the only good Highlander media are the first film, the original tv show - not raven or the animated series - and endgame. the source was awful. they shouldn't try to explain where the immortality came from, it should stay ambiguous. if they do remake highlander, they should go back to basics.
Much like Superman 4, Highlander 4 is yet another wasted opportunity of brilliant potential. Both movies even suffered the classic production problem of having its list of establishing scenes cut to aid in the film's pacing.

I always imaged the Quickening was more like an endorphin release be jacked up to 11, several times over.
Yes there is no rejoicing in eliminate unrighteousness according plan of ancients real ones. The glory of Angels above humanity even if residing human bodies not up humanity of half breed sons decide who is and isn't but one in charge of all Angels has that choice and not that one's fault. Any son who try to hurt Angels on purpose for evil gain is in trouble. Other song listening too is more important is used for force to protect planet earth.
I agree with most. the first highlander was awesome, but I am a fan of the series.
For all its flaws I do think that this is the best of the sequels. Not a bonkers mythos-busting mess like the second or a dull retreated of the original like the third. (And the less said about "The Source" the better) Yeah, the execution isn't as good as it should (or could have been) but I think it had at least the bones of a great sequel in terms of being a middle ground between those two extremes.
Easily the best sequel 2 is terrible the directors cut is passable an 3 is all right for a 9os action retread.This one theatrical is crap but the producers cut which this scene is from is good continuation of the tv series.The source is a joke an the anime movie is great.
Given Kell's phenomenal power, even for an Immortal, his quickening should have made Duncan something close to a super-Immortal. Not indestructible, but alot more experienced and alot harder to defeat.

It would seem like several Justice League members joining into a single very powerful character, with some vulnerable points, with possibly as few capable opponents. There was always a chance mortals might try to kill him and dismember him or bury him alive, which every immortal lives in fear of.
I'm pretty sure it did make Duncan the most powerful immortal cause honestly I don't think the version of Duncan we see at the beginning of the film would have been able to defeat the Guardian from Highlander The Source
This movie is so bad it`s good..But it has some great music..And some cool actors..Bruce Payne, Donnie Yen, and the beautiful Lisa Barbuscia..

Conner's power and skill live in Duncan. The term "Immortal" is more than their agelessness. Their essence is absorbed into the victory. In a sense they live on even when decapitated.
Hard to believe that The Game was nearly won by a guy who swung a katana like a five-year-old.
Because their power doesn't come from skill alone. Think of it as a Jedi that is immortal.
You know at least they never disappoint a quicking. Awesome.

Oh the quickening from the vengeance anime in the begining was ice cold! That quickening basically leveled the entire building!
@@SubZerotheoneandonly2675 The third movie quickening was pretty good too it kinda looked like the quickening transformed into an energy dragon and went into Connor body picking him up off the floor charging his body up it is pretty cool though! Because that's not only Kane's head but it was Nakano and all the other immortals that were both good and evil all into Connors body at once! But this quickening Duncan received was so legendary and power's because all the warriors Connor, Rameirez, Nakano, The Kurgan, Kane, and so forth all went into Duncan's body at once! That's why that entire building should of went up in an explosion like an atomic or nuclear bomb! AGAIN it's kinda like how when Goku went Super Saiyan 3 in the Buu saga! The dudes power was so overwhelming that it caused a tsunami, hurricane, TV's exploded, and even caused earth quakes! He even went back through his life evolution of when he was a baby inside of an energy ball and then basically exploded out as a grown man roaring like a beast! The gorilla ape that Goku transforms into when looking at the full moon even appeared and roared and when all the smoke cleared there was Goku standing there with chi energy pulsating around his body with gold hair drapped down his back! It was absolutely amazing how much detail they put into that transformation! This quickening reminds me of that! Because the power was so much that Duncan could barely take it! He literally fell on the ground and held his sword up to the sky to receive the rest of the power!
But I truly believe that power should of picked Duncan up into the sky! It Connors quickening can do it to/ and/ with him it should do it with Duncan because that final quickening's power was basically letting everyone know Duncan was the last immortal standing when all of the smoke cleared, HE IS THE PRIZE WINNER AND WON THE GAME!
I love Highlander the movie in the series and I have no problem with this it's just really funny when Connor says what's the matter don't you want to be inside of me when I saw that at the theater I busted out laughing I couldn't help it
Connor is my boy though! Duncan is ok but Connors the man he gave his power over to his student Duncan is how I look at it

Much as i liked this ending from the director's cut, i did prefer the theatrical cut's Quickening which featured Duncan's face morphing with that of Connor McCloud face instead! As it highlighted both McClouds in spirit taking the Quickening together. i.e. the last of Connor helping his fellow McCloud clansman out before he left him as the last immortal.

Duncan did not win. He survived. The Mythos is (see what I did there?) Is he ate the bad guy and if you eat enough of the Bad Guys you become one, (Dark Quickening) You are there until you eat enough good guys to Quicken Light. It is a cycle.
One of the best endings to a series much less a movie series and a TV series all into one I can't remember or recall anything else like this. Well I guess it wasn't really the end because they had one more now that was an ending. An immortal being able to have a child. one of the best science fiction series of all time that they didn't completely b**** out and destroy. I gave it a solid 10

i get them forgetting H2, we all have, but to forgo the third movie was kinda BS. Connor would have ended Jacob long ago. Thou in the end Connor had to come out and end it because Duncan's style wasnt doing it
let's just all agree that the first movie and the tv show were great, and that the source was the worst of 3 bad sequels.
I wouldnt say that Highlander 2 is terrible but the directors cut is passable its watchable.Highlander 3 is one of those repeat sequels not totally bad just dosent offer much its all right 9os action film.This one isnt a sequel but a film in the tv series world.The theatrical cut was bad this version which is the only one on dvd the producers cut is good it has some problems like editing in the finale fight but the villain is finally not a Kurgan rip off an the plot is also not stupid Highlander 2 nor a repeat Highlander 3. It also has the best action of the franchise with Donnie Yen.Had they went all out an had Kell kill all of the majority of the immortals an really just had him an Duncan as the last two.This would have been a good ending for the series.The Source is just laughable an an insult.

We fans of the original movie do not recognize this crap nor any of the sequels. We are ok with the series but also don’t recognize it but we are ok with it.

I never did get why there was no continuity between all 4 of the movies.
different writers and different ideas.
Movie 1 is best treated as a premise and a standalone movie.
Movie 2 exists in 2 different storylines, neither of which makes a lot of sense.
Movie 3, technically, can be canon to Movie 1's continuity, because the bad guy there was sealed in a cave, and as such couldn't participate in the Game (the movie even adresses this).
The series takes up after Highlander 1, with the explanation given (I think) that there are different Gatherings over the course of the years that a lot, but not all, Immortals go to, but that the Game itself never really ends. However, the series becomes its own Canon from this point on. Think of it as an alternate timeline.
Movie 4 is an ending to the series, and should not be taken as a continuity of movies 1, 2, or 3.
Movie 5... yeah even the directors I think just said "imagine its a bad dream Duncan had", because christ that movie made less sense than the alien storyline in 2.
Endgame was actually pretty good.
I enjoy Kell but Highlander 86 is really the only Highlander. Everything else is just nonsense.

Did nobody else mention the World Trade Center in the background? I remember seeing this the first week of September 2000. I wish I knew then what would transpire a year later. Interesting. First time I have seen this. I remember seeing a newspaper ad for an advance screening many moons ago then never saw it being played at the cinema. Not sure why. IMDB had the Australian release date of Feb 2001 so it must have been shown.
