Lawrence Talbot's (Benicio Del Toro's) childhood ended the night his mother died. His father sent him from the sleepy Victorian hamlet of Blackmoor to an insane asylum, then he goes to America. When his brother Ben's (Simon Merrells') fiancée, Gwen Conliffe (Emily Blunt), tracks him down to help find her missing love, Talbot returns to his father's estate to learn that his brother's mauled body has been found. Reunited with his estranged father Sir John Talbot (Sir Anthony Hopkins), Lawrence sets out to find his brother's killer, and discovers a horrifying destiny for himself. Someone or something with brute strength and insatiable blood lust has been killing the villagers, and a suspicious Scotland Yard Inspector named Aberline (Hugo Weaving) comes to investigate.

I think the movie would’ve ended better if at that moment, Lawrence was finally able to have control of the wolf and live the rest of his life with Gwen.

Bruh this movie is a remake of the 1941 film The Wolf Man, and Both Larry and Lawrence die from silver. But Larry is killed by sir John with a silver cane and Lawrence does die from a silver bullet. But also both Larry/Lawrence in both films do attack Gwen, but are killed.
This is such a great homage to the original film. This movie doesn't get the love it should.
At the beginning of the movie, the old gypsy woman says that only someone who loves Lawrence could save him from the curse. And that’s what happened: Gwen saved him, killing him

Emily Blunt was a great choice to play the role of Gwen in this movie. She and Benicio Del Toro had great chemistry with each other and this scene shows that well. She knows that she has to kill Lawrence with a silver bullet but is really scared and sad to do it because she loves him.I think she did a great job that maybe if I was a casting agent, I would have chosen her to play Rachel Dawes in Batman Begins and the Dark Knight. I still like Katie Holmes in the role but maybe Emily Blunt would have been a better choice since she and Christian Bale are both British actors and they probably would have great chemistry while working on those two films.
I thought Lawrence was just going to take her and just runaway.

This is up there as one of the top werewolves movies of all time. Truly badass movie.

They should not have killed the Wolfman. ...American audiences seem to want 'closure' to a story where an open ending can work just as well. Lawrence should have escaped. ....this is evidenced in a way by the fact that now 10yrs later this film is getting remade.
