I appreciate how this movie was able to keep the classic Wolfman look, and still have it be so much more of a ferocious monster than the original without seeming too cheesy, especially with the Assylum transformation. I love how Anthony Hopkins Wolf form still clearly looks like him. Shows that his character is, and always has been a monster.
The greatest Wolfman ever, Benicio was astounding. It was like he was possessed by the most tormented, craziest and angriest demon in hell. His performance was way above even the stunning SFX, he made the difference not the film technology.
@@sirorliktheironclad Lon Chaney Jr was the legendary standard reference, he was amazing, I still remember the old school classic horror movies and he scared the bejesus out of me when I saw his werewolf antics one night by accident as a kid 😂
@@Pulsonar I love Lon Chaney Jr because he started it all and I like his portrayal of Lawrence Talbot’s human side but I like Benicio Del Torro’s werewolf side of Lawrence better. Just my opinion.
It was a good movie but personally I think it could have done a little better by making the werewolves 100% CGI and looking like the werewolves from Van Helsing or at the very least perhaps having the werewolves sport short muzzles
This should've continued. I read somewhere that Anthony Hopkins, when he threw the chair across the room it was unscripted and everyone was in awe of how far it traveled 😅 he really had that strength 💪
This is one of the best wolf man films ever - I love how they balanced the use of real effects and cgi effects; that’s what it makes more magical than just straight CGI. Because if they wanted to - they could have just had the two wolfs animated and go at it like Thanos and Iron man, but they didn’t. They put in effort.
1940s Wolfman holds up. But this movie feels more personal because of the Talbot family's curse. The retro story was the story of a charming friendly man with a future, who suffered a slow decline because of a tragic encounter. This Lawrence was a tragic existence since childhood. His father encountered supernatural evil and brought it to that house. Killed his wife, killed his son. Finding that little feral boy tore that family apart. And the curse continues.🐺
It would have been better if Sir John became a werewolf because he was cursed by his Gypsy wife.Because she was a Gypsy the townspeople looked down on her and never accepted her as one of them. One day she is in the stable, preparing for an afternoon of horseback riding, when a pair of drunken villagers attempt to rape her.Sir John intervenes and prevents the assault but is mortally wounded. He lingers near death for hours, but just before he dies,in a desperate act of love, she curses him.The hope in her mind is that she will be able to remove it at a later time.
I don't know why this movie wasn't appreciated more.. I have watched it numerous times and as a werewolf fan I think they done a brilliant job with it ..very underrated ... one of my absolute favourites.. seems Ryan Gosling is meant to be doing a new wolfman movie..we await and see.. just wish there were a lot more werewolf movies getting made .
"The Wolfman" is an enjoyable film that delivers a captivating blend of suspense and personal transformations. The performances and visual effects add value to this cinematic experience.
I was expecting this movie clip to upload on the Universal picture subscription. This fight scene is similar to the Lion King due to Simba's kick technique against Scar. Joe Johnson, director of Jumanji and Jurassic Park 3, made an absolute masterpiece of a monster classic.
Wasn’t sure if Lawrence was in charge at the climax of the fight in wolf form or the wolf in him saw an opposer an said “You wanna throw down? LETS GO!
Are you kidding? There's a modern classic werewolf film: An American Werewolf in London. Besides, the Wolfman 2010 is told in a different time period where the atmosphere is dark and the tone is just right. Stephen Sommers could have direct this since the werewolf designs were cool in Van Helsing 2004.

If these movies succeeded we would have the aka dark multiverse. But because of the superhero movies at that time we got them instead
I don’t understand why so many people don’t like this movie. I love it. Sure it doesn’t hold a candle to the original but it’s good in its own way
Because people wanted a werewolf not the wolfman.
This should've continued. I read somewhere that Anthony Hopkins, when he threw the chair across the room it was unscripted and everyone was in awe of how far it traveled 😅 he really had that strength 💪
That's hilarious 😂 I assumed the chair was fake and that throw was to show Hopkins werewolf strength. Not bad for an elder gent.
He’s quite strong. I read too even as he ages he keeps in shape.
