I'm honestly more comfortable talking with a total stranger about prepping than someone who knows where I live. It's unfortunate, but being loose-lipped about being a prepper could become a real issue with friends/family/neighbors showing up at your place if things really kicked off. Not to mention the fact that "authorities" may declare that your stockpiles need to be seized and used "for the greater good" once they know you have them. How would they ever find out? How about that guy down the street you turned away that knows how much stuff you have; and his cousin just happens to be the mayor/sheriff/whatever. He's gonna burn you the second you refuse him. Scary stuff, but it has already happened in this country in the past.......
Great stuff to think about. Loose lips sink ships, but also, it's hard to build a local community if you don't discuss prepping with the neighbors. Catch 22 if I've ever seen one
