I really have nothing but praise for these vehicles... I crashed my 2009.5 into a ditch at about 80k miles, bent up the frame and messed up the front suspension. Kinda fixed the frame, replaced my whole front suspension and whole cooling system. At 124k miles its still going strong and the only issue I have is the radio display sometimes goes black but the sound system is really good.
They are tanks for what they are. We have a 2009.5 ourselves that just passed 200K miles and it is still going strong. AC no longer works but still, that can be fixed.
Had an '07 G6, was a nice car. A lot of bang-for-the-buck is what the Pontiac brand was known for. Spend just a little more than what you would for a Chevy, and with Pontiac you got a more upscale car with options included.

I own a black 07 G6 GT VERT 3.9L Its definitely an attention getter😊I love my car. It has this low humm to it like some of the muscle cars i hear. But its pretty decent considering all the weight it has to pull with the verts

I bought an '08 for about $4k. I love the damn thing. I was just about to stop car shopping for the day when I saw 4 or 5 of these on a lot. A guy I used to work with had started selling cars, and bought himself a G6 and was really happy with it, so I took one for a ride and I'm happy I did

Bought one of these new back in 2008 as my first car and came back here for the nostalgia lol. Mine was a 2007 G6 GT Coupe. I put around 140,000 on it with several cross country trips. The car did 9 coast to coast trips total and never had a single issue! Unfortunately on its last trip I hit a deer on the interstate in Kansas and it absolutely obliterated my front end. Still made it all the way back to the east coast. I ended up opting to not have the front end repaired and I traded it in to a dealership for $500. I’d pay $1000 to get it back today 🙃
@@joshflows4848 They are relatively cheap to repair and will save you time lost and other issues like needing new tires once you get there. If you find a small shop you can probably get it done for around $200. If you really have to get there you’d more than likely be fine, but I personally wouldn’t chance it

It's definitely a nice smooth car with low miles for it's age. I obviously prefer the Pontiac G8 the Australian Holden Commodore Sedan with the LS3 V8 😍 however that is a gas guzzler. Nice POV again Chad, I really think these allow the customers to feel like they are more so driving the car and experiencing it themselves!!!
I own a black on black '08 G6 GT. Bought it four years ago with 26,000 miles on it for seven grand. Now it has 66,000. It has 217 horsepower which is decent. I would suggest checking your alignment to eliminate the torque steer. This car has a ton of low-end and feels like a rear wheel drive car. I think it would be perfect with 50 more horsepower.
Sloane, that was a steal! I had a 2008 G6 GT Sedan in navy blue back in 2008. I loooved that car. Hitting those corners at a good speed was like a breeze! My biggest problem was making left turns and the gas hand would drop like a rock. I could have a half a tank and as soon as I turn, i would watch it drop to nearly a quarter full! It would recover in about 30 seconds but not quite back to half or it’s original reading. And yes, I agree that 50 extra horsepower would have made it very competitive and better.
You guys know they had a GTP model of the G6 with a 3.9L with 240HP right? So not exactly the 50hp you guys were wanting but close.. and it's actually a real car

I just picked up a 2010 G6 GT (auto), 96k miles on it, for $4200. So far, it's a fun and very comfortable little car. I'm tempted to race it against my 1992 Honda Prelude SI (manual). Honestly though, the Lude has more work done to it, I feel like this newcomer won't be able to keep up with Frankenstein.
I had that car and I miss it. But it had a lot of electrical issues. And after 40k miles or so the steering wheel would shake at highway speeds. The tires were balanced.
Electrical issues..sun roof drainage tube issues..causing water to collect in the floorboards after rains..ect...'07..still running at 120k.. surprised..🙄
2007 G6 gt convertible 3.9 58 000m. 3 ot 4 months ago mechanic said sway bar and tie rod was showing the signs of wear and would be repairing soon but not an emergency so I had that fixed. just lost all my hydraulic power steering and shakes badly at 60-65 mph Tires were brand new with killer tread must get new tires soon since tread is wearing fast, have a slow oil leak somewhere and last week car wouldn't start, but absolutely everything works inside. Seems like a lot for only 58K miles

I own a pontiac G6 GT today but from 2008, and i love it, i was very surprised when i first raved the engine and discovered how much does a supercharged V6 can make noise and show how much of a beast in can be. Respect to pontiac. for info, It has around 285 HP for sadly FWD and not RWD I also just love to see the face of people when i start the engine and push it a little to make it ''roar'' Also a huge lost they did, The car only has 4 gear instead of 5 or 6 wich makes the speed and acceleration fade away as soon that you hit around 100 km/h
i have the 2005 g6 and it can get to 20 below and starts up right away ,mind also has the torque steer. have it now for almost 6 years and only one ball joint was done as far as repairs go, those cigarette burns look like they were done on purpose
My G6 is a 2006 it only has 62,000 miles on it and I love everything about my G6 I put a supercharger on it a CAI a tower strut bar and a superchip and it's an amazing mustang 5.0 eater

I have a g6 gt coupe with Sun and sound package. You might have had the Sirius radio on instead of fm. When you put the car in park the doors should unlock automatically. The car is fairly heavy at close to 4000 lbs. I have leather. It is a good car and power to pass on the highway.
It's a good overall car for the money. I have a 2008 GPX G6 Street Edition Coupe, Black on black leather interior loaded. 65K miles I would inspect the electrical all over the car. look for jerry rigged wiring. The electrical is really below average and I would really check the control arms with the suspension. Expect anything over 10 years needing 800+ in new arms and bearings. I picked up mine for 8200$. They're nice and some want premium prices for low mile units because they're rare now but, don't fall for that. I'm waiting a week for some suspension parts for mine now. There are issues with a dead brand. I love my car though. Most powerful front wheel drive I've ever driven. I added MKX Black and Silver 8.5 hubs rolling on Michelin 245/40's that 1 inch over 7.5 OEM makes all the difference. Tires come to the fenders now. Had it 8 months and I'm thinking about selling it. Now it's only at almost 67K miles. My price was a trade "amount" I'm asking 10K......I looked at the Cadillac ATS-V's...opps Lol I have to move on Lol

Great cars. My girlfriend has one with 207k miles and runs like new. Only bad thing is they like to rust out the rocker panels and the front end needs balljoints replaced all the time
I picked up an '06 GTP convertible last week, which I've found out is a bit of a unicorn since the GTP was only available as a convertible for half a model year. I'm surprised at how quick it is, even with all the extra weight I'm dragging around. I haven't noticed any torque steer in mine, which is something I'd probably pick up on rather quickly as I'm used to driving RWD cars. Anyway, I'm in love with this car and I hope to keep it running long after the demise of the brand itself.

You are very welcome. Mine has the 3.9l engine and is rated 25 mpg. Installed a drop-in K&N filter months ago and I'm averaging between 25-33 mpg depending how I shift. You could have the same results. Yours is a keeper!!!!
Yeah, I had a unicorn too, I had a '07 black 3.9 convertible GT, I don't know if you know but they actually removed the GTP name for 2007 and just called it the GT and took it for 3.9 you had to op for the sport package
I know the later G6 do have more 0.1and0.4 litre size engine from the 3.5l... nice cars but I will not drive in the winter. They are FWD but very light

These Pontiac G6 models are notorious for shitty speakers. They are built with cheap materials thus disintegrate over time. What happens is the voice coils get fucked up when the surround give out, causing many issues. This occurs in the front AND rear drivers. The plastic cones used are EXTREMELY thin. If you poke them, it ripples like soggy toilet paper. From personal experience...

Those cars have a recall on the power steering not just that year but most of the 2000s the steering would lock up going down the road pretty scary
The newer g6s went back to hydraulic steering. I own a 08 cobalt with electric assit steering and not have any issues yet at 160,000 miles.

It might need a new headlight harness. It's easy to fix

These Pontiac G6 models are notorious for shitty speakers. They are built with cheap materials thus disintegrate over time.
What happens is the voice coils get fucked up when the surround give out, causing many issues. This occurs in the front AND rear drivers.
The plastic cones used are EXTREMELY thin. If you poke them, it ripples like soggy toilet paper.
From personal experience...
i have a 06 pontiac gt g6 , the speakers are fine to me , i like how the bass is but thats every car over time
@@Geminiwaze I believe it's the coupe models in particular with the monsoon (I think it's called that?) Sound package... My friend had a sedan g6 the same age and the speakers are exceedingly good
