Yeah I had I know what you did last summer 4K and it had a slip cover but I sold it. When I bought another copy it didn’t come with a slip cover, I was bummed out lol
Slipcovers are usually limited to the first few 1000s of copies sold. So that's why you didn't get one for the 4K of IKWYDLS which was released 2 years ago.
I always love these physical media hauls of yours. And I also love your videos in general. You're by far one of the loveliest people and youtubers. And you have a lovely smile. 😊
Nice variety! I am embarrassed to say that I have yet to see "Sisters" and I am a DePalma fan. "Blow Out" is amazing, on Criterion too. Here are some random things: I saw Roger Ebert walking around the Lincoln Park Zoo around 2005 and it was fall and really cold outside. I didn't want to bother him. Also, the author of Trainspotting, Irvine Welsh, taught briefly at Columbia College Chicago when I was a student there and his class would fill up in seriously about 5 minutes and I tried for 3 semesters straight but blew it!
I LOVE The Last Slumber Party! Came across it about 8 years ago through a site called Rifftrax where 3 guys watch "Bad" movies and do a Commentary track but it's making jokes about a film. Seen it so many times that I also pre-ordered the Blu-Ray. It was a great addition to my "Bad Movies" physical media collection.
Hello Ashley, I have just come across your channel, and I love it. Physical Media is part and parcel of myself, I have been a collector for most of my life. So, you have a new follower and another subscriber from Spain. Lucky me I found your channel, thank you so much for your passion and support to physical media. Greetings from Spain !!!!!
Ashley, it is so awesome to see a younger person passionate about higher quality physical media that you actually own! If I may make a couple of suggestions... 4k discs, especially, are prone to scratches. If a disc comes stacked or in a sleeve, inspect it for scratches or scuffs, and if it plays through fine, put it in a new case to protect its surface. The other item is to consider making mkv lossless backup files for your media. This is not an advocacy for piracy, but legitimate disc backups of your personal disc collection. It's a little time consuming (less if you are just starting on your disc journey and don't have hundreds of discs) and there is some initial investment in a necessary 4k computer disc drive, hard drive storage or NAS device, and a media player like a Zidoo Pro. However, for a tiny fraction of the costs, you could have a long lasting media collection and a kind of instant access Kaleidescape system (with very similar AV quality), and use your discs as a backup in case of any data loss. Makemkv is free ripping software (unless you want to donate for a permanent license) and is an option. It supports archiving Dolby Vision and immersive audio formats too. You can take out the warning screens, forced trailers, and the menu structure and only copy the video, audio tracks, and subtitles you want.
Trainspotting is definitely on my list. I've heard the packaging is glow in the dark. But either way l'm picking it up. One of my favorites from the 90s.
Usually a slip cover only comes on the first printing of a disc or part of the first printing. Your copy of I know what you did last summer might be a later printing.
I absolutely love Romeo + Juliet! A timeless tragedy that's reinvigorated by Baz's visionary direction. This might be the high-water mark of Leo's pre-Titanic filmography. Claire Danes is exceptional as always and the supporting cast is chock-full of heavy hitters. This film has it all, including a super cool needle-drop from Radiohead early on when Romeo is introduced, sitting on the beach as the sun sets. To me that is the perfect marriage of sound and picture. What’s on my physical media wish list? Hearing your comments on The Last Slumber Party has put me in the mood for some nostalgia horror. For me that’s The Gate from 1987. I saw that as a kid and it absolutely terrified me. I haven’t seen it since and it probably doesn’t hold up but it has always stuck with me so I definitely want to add that to my collection. PS: Dalton’s Oppenheimer steelbook is stunning. I’m kicking myself for settling for the standard edition. I should’ve checked eBay. I might have to double-dip 😁
The Gate is a movie I've heard many people mention that sounds right up my alley but still haven't seen yet for some reason! I need to check it out one day!
Do you bite your thumb at me, ma'am? 😃 Awesome thumbnail! I feel the same way you do about physical media. I love the feeling of adding a new title to my collection, especially if it's on 4K or a movie/series making its first appearance on Blu-ray. I do, however, need to set aside some time to reorganize my collection and buy a new shelf because I'm running out of space. I'm sure you know the feeling.
No sir, I do not bite my thumb at you sir, but I bite my thumb sir! 😁 And yes I completely understand, I definitely need another media shelf because mine are overflowing!
Gruv has a 4k 2 for $24 sale going that ends today. picked up Point Break, The Town, Scott Pilgrim and a couple others I'm forgetting right now

That's so nice, thank you so much! Glad you're liking the physical media hauls!
You're very welcome. Yes of course. As a physical media collector it's always awesome to see 🙂

Thanks for sharing those random but very interesting stories!
Fun haul. SISTERS is great! Lots of terrific stuff to discover in De Palma's filmography if you're not too familiar.
Cool pick ups
I had a fun time with The Last Slumber Party. Great haul!
Thanks! And yeah it's a fun time for sure!
Criterion is so awesome making their packages and I can't wait to get my hand on a copy of Trainspotting on 4k!

What an awesome haul! You’ve got some great releases in here! Love your channel dude!
Great haul! BTW I Know What You Did Last Summer did come with a slipcover with a different artwork.
It's just been out longer than the second film on 4K hence no slipcover.
My favourite part of almost any horror film ever is in I still know what you did last summer when the laserdisc karaoke gets hacked.
Trainspotting is definitely on my list. I've heard the packaging is glow in the dark. But either way l'm picking it up. One of my favorites from the 90s.
Nice variety of movies there, wouldn't mind seeing a reaction vid for some
