The hunt is real! I spend hours and hours each week, combing through thrift stores, estate sales, auctions, flea markets & Antique centers ... to bring home the goods and prepare them for selling in my Ebay store, my antique booth and on Facebook Marketplace, which fully supports me.

I'm going thrifting in my storage container and in my spare bedroom lol. But first, I'm going to my "real" job, I work for my best friend planting her flowers and taking care of her yard, and flower beds, which I absolutely love! Her yard is right at 3 acres, she has flower beds everywhere and this year I'm going to plant her a huge garden ❤. Not sure why I always tell my at the time life story, but there it is 😂

The little ceramic ‘gift bag’ would be nice for Mother’s Day which is just around the corner! I can see it holding make up brushes! So pretty. I hope you don’t have black eye from your accident! Prayers for fast healing if you do!
I agree with some other commenters that the paper cutter should have a "gizmo" at the bottom to hold that arm locked down until ready to cut. You release the "gizmo" use the arm, then lock the arm back down with the gizmo. If it doesn't have some kind of "gizmo" at the bottom to lock the arm in a permanently down position, maybe that's why someone donated it. Then again, I guess maybe paper cutters didn't always have "lock" gizmos, but that would be surprising because of the danger involved. Love your videos!
I’m glad you are okay! Just last week my 10 year old daughter was pulling something down from the overstuffed toy shelves and had some hard fall on her head! She recovered pretty quickly but it made me realize just how dangerous those shelves can be. Who knew that thrifting came with such risks!
Karen....It looks like the beautiful butter dish top is signed KE, which is for Ken Edwards. He's a wonderful artist and his stuff sells well. Check out his pottery.

Karen, I believe the butter dish lid may be a Ken Edwards piece. Someone might like that for a replacement lid. He has a following.

Sadly, there is always a baby crying in thrift stores. It gives me anxiety, and I start worrying for it.
I wear my cheater glasses like most people wear sunglasses - on my head so easy to bring down when needed (ALOT! BTW 🙂) while I'm thrifting... you might wanna try that....

Ouch! Soooo sorry about your face. My 88 year old mom was a school teacher. She used a paper cutter like that to cut up test. That was way before copy machines got so fancy. I remember her telling me not to play with the cutter because they’re very dangerous. I hope you heal fast. 😢

Exactly! They tape everything else, but a moving cast iron handle is just loose! Yikes…must’ve hurt dammit…she’s a tough girl❤

OUCH! Poor baby getting hit with that heavy handle. There should be a catch safety hook on the side to secure the handle from my experience. Feel better:) Love the fox mint julep cups for the derby
OMG Karen, your paper cutter story made me gasp!! I'm so glad you're alright. I was holding my phone up to my face while lying in bed once; mistakenly dropped it and it hit me right under my eye. I was sore and had a bruise for a long time. It really scared me and I learned my lesson not to do that. Please be careful. Another GREAT video!!

I was a teacher and had a paper.cutter just like that! It must have been at my school for a long time!
I’d love to watch a video on how you store the stuff that you buy before you list then store until you sell. Like from the beginning to the end.
That paper cutter took me right back to the many classrooms that I worked in all of my Professional life… Of course, I always worried about my fingers getting cut, and never thought about the arm hitting me in the face, ha!
If you get a blackeye, you will just have to consider it a battle wound!
Must be a teacher thing! I had the exact same tecollection. There should be a wire or lock of some sort on the handle end to hold the blade in place. Obviously, it wasn't attached. Glad you felt ok enough to continue filming. You are one tough lady. I know how heavy those things are. Quick healing wishes sent your way!❤
Karen I feel your pain-lol what I do is take a photo of the label and blow it up- it makes reading all that small print easy or maybe wear a magnifying glass around your neck - you can find a vintage one- they can be beautiful and look like a necklace - I know etsy has some - love watching you both
I do the photo thing all the time at the thrift and grocery store 🔎 nd my magnifier on Apple phone. 📞

I believe that 5 dollar basket is antique. I have one very similar from 1890's.
I love those commercial paper cutter and have been dragging mine from job to job. I still use it here at work every day. There should be a lock on it to keep the handle from being loose.. so sorry you got hammered in the face…..

Karen, one more thing on that paper cutter is that it has a tension spring on the bottom of handle that will tighten or loosen it.

I did just sell that same paper cutter in my booth, I sat on it for awhile but got $60 (I had changed my mind and decided to keep it but it was gone) You look really pretty in your intro.
There SHOULD be a little swing lock on that cutter!
I am so sorry, Karen, to hear about you getting hit. Ouch! When I was around 6 years old, I was with my mom “helping” her in her first grade classroom after school one day. I pulled on the handle of a cutting board, just like the one you found in this video, & the whole thing came down on top of me & I did get a concussion. My mom felt horrible, but it wasn’t her fault. I wasn’t supposed to be getting into the area it was in. I remember to this day how painful it was. Please take care of yourself! xo

Those paper cutter handles are very heavy! AND THAT IS A SHARP BLADE ATTACHED TO IT! Very thankful that you didn’t get cut!!!!😊

OMG Karen, I have a old paper cutter like the one you got hit in the face with. I have had it for years, same thing as the one you are purchasing...wrought iron blade handle...I have been hit in the head so many times throughout the years of owning it because the side of the cutter that has the blade is soooo much heavier than the other side...unbalanced. Be careful the next time you handle it :) Love, Love, Love you and your videos...and I am so happy you found love...I should also say that I am so Happy that Roger found Love!!! We still use a paper cutter at work, but ours is green. There is usually a metal clip on it to hold the handle down when not in use.

The Blue and White painting next to the big one is the one you should look at if it's still there and it looks like a couple more from the same collection behind it. The frames looks to be MCM where as the Big one looks to be 90's and mass production. You should take an image and do searches but, of course you know that. I sure hope you don't have a concussion. I'm afraid you might get blackeyes though. So sorry.

Paper cutter should have a lock mechanism on side to hold the blade. My favorite kind from my first years of teaching!

OMG, Karen! Please be careful picking up heavy, unwieldy items…that paper cutter almost took you out! If you have bruising, try using arnica cream to heal them. Cheers, Katia
My junior high typing teacher in the late 60's chopped off the tip of a finger during class using the paper cutter. We didn't know anything happened until later. She didn't holler out or anything , just walked out of the room with her finger in her mouth.

Karen, I have one of those paper cutters and live by the safety hook, I always make sure to close it and I'm so hoping yours has the safety hook on it. Such a beautiful assortment for this thrift haul, it is always so much fun to see what you pick up and the prices you pay are incredible. My Florida Goodwill prices are completely ridiculous. I never go there anymore and have to rely on our local mom & pop shops, I much rather like to support our local shop keepers.

I have a humongous paper cutter that my husband got on a job site. I used them a lot when I worked for the school district. But this one I have is a giant one.

The basket you picked up and put back is at least 50yrs + it is made of willow most of these baskets were made in Poland I worked in a wicker store when I was young. I have several in mint condition

Karen, IDK if you have the store Walls in your area, but if you do, you should go! They have EVERYTHING & CHEAP! It's like an outlet store that gets merchandise from everywhere! The one in Woodward Oklahoma has everything, Ralph Lauren, Levi's, Estee Lauder, Coach, Nike, Luchessi, Wranger, expensive western belts & shirts... literally everything! Silverware, appliances, game stations, home decor...and every time I've ask to lower a price, the manager always does! It's a great place to shop for sure! Of course I've never been to any other than the one in Woodward, but I'm sure they're all very similar
