Your strangers in the photo frame comment made me laugh. My husband modeled in his younger days, before me. After we were married, I was in Hallmark looking at some frames and I did a double take…there he was in the photo riding a bike. Of course I bought it. Thanks for sparking that funny memory.
Our goodwills don’t allow items taken to the restroom so I left my huge ceramic vintage cat in a basket under some clothes..was only in rr for 3 minutes came out and a person took my find. I kindly chased her down and asked for the cat back. She gave it to me but it’s cut throat sometimes thrifting! In your case you were pushing the cart. Glad you did what you did.
@@annmarie4794 Just a friendly suggestion. If you compare the number of views to the number of likes there is a drastic difference. Karen works very hard on her channel and she should get the recognition she deserves.
No. But it’s necessary like she said because of the background music. I don’t like her laugh or her constant talk but you know what I love her channel and I love what she does. I just have annoying issues that way some things get on my nerves, but it doesn’t cost me not to watch.
Made my Sun, morning by waking up to this video. The cowboy boots find is SO awesome!!! Congrats. You and Rodger are the dream team, and so very organized, glad to know I can shop from his store for my sons, he def. knows clothing. Thanks for the tour and snow, I live in the desert so no snow days for me. WTG on standing ur ground on the beautiful chair, you had the ticket in hand. Thank you!!!!
About a month ago I took the ticket for a vintage chair and stool and they put a sold sign on it while I continue to shop. I went back every once in a while to check on it when I finally went to go pay for it, I went to go make some room in my car, and when I came back, someone else had taken the label off the chair and paid for it, so it’s a good idea to do what you did
Hi Karen! Pier 1 used to be my favorite store to shop in, and I couldn't believe it when they just closed sll their stores during the pandemic. So sad! But I still have a lot of their dishware, pillows, and wicker furniture, including the second chair you showed on comps for $225. I think I paid less than 100 for it. Your chair is beautiful! 🌺
Karen, Your mail holder is really a plus. People are buying them & painting them with chalk paint & they turn out beautiful! They are in high demand. Especially the older ones.
I saw a good tip for shipping delicate items, use a zip lock bad, ( size depends on the size of the object you are shipping.) insert some insulation foam. Close the bag, let foam expand and place your object on top. The foam takes the shape of your object. Repeat the process and place this bag on top of your object.
No, I would not have bought the vases especially if one had a crack in it. Great find on the chair and good for you for putting it in your cart. I've done the same thing. Its a nightmare trying to manuver in a crowded store, but well worth the effort in the end.
I just had to say Thank You! I have been watching your channel for the past 6 months contemplating starting to resell in 2024 as a side business (I have a full time job that I adore). I decided to list my first item on January 1st and I had listed 24 items when on January 7th I got my first sale! Your enthusiasm, encouragement and positivity really helped me to actually take the leap! I study things before I delve into them so I have been watching lots of reseller UA-cam channels and yours is the best! Thank You!
I would love to see what you do with the items after you pull them. How you weigh them, add the packaging costs and box them up! Also how you would do someone with an multiple order. I find this all interesting and I’ve boughten from you before so curious to see what items go through. You seem to be able to package things quickly and I would like to see what you do. I ship things to my kids and grandkids but it seems to take me forever to get it boxed up and out the door.
I love the Lillian Vernon baskets & the small vintage brass clip-on light. You always find the best things. I’m tempted to get on a plane & go thrifting in PA, the only problem is how would I get it all home? lol. P.S. Lisa does a great job on your hair! She’s talented at so many things! She landscapes, paints houses & does hair! 🤩 wow Edit- LOVE the rattan chair! Great find!
So excited! Just purchased your two round wood accent mirrors! They remind me of port holes on a cruise ship. So happy you do these video's. Would have loved those lamp bases in the beginning too! Thanks Karen!
I just love watching you, Roger, and hearing about your kids/life, besides all the reseller pointers you share, you both inspire me to be a better reseller. Love the chair and boots, it amazes me at what people donate sometimes.
Hi Karen, I think you should have kept the small framed print. So many people are doing gallery walls now and it would be perfect for that. I love your videos. Happy New Year!
Really enjoyed this video. Great finds with boots and chair. Also enjoy your shipping segment. I look forward to your Sunday and Wednesday videos. You and Roger make a great team.
I always look forward to your videos. I loved the chair and some other items you picked up. I have a similar dresser an antique I inherited from my grandmother. I also keep my packing shipping items in there. Great video, you are so organized just like me😁. Greetings from Cape Town South Africa 🇿🇦.
I want to get on an airplane and go thrift in PA ! I’m in San Diego and thrifting is awful here. I’m just blown away at your stores there. Love your channel Karen. I look forward to my Sunday and Wednesday videos. Truly. Especially Sunday. I would love to watch a pack and ship video too. Please do one ☺️ Roger too ! God bless you. And I love the hair. I might have to copy it. ❤
Great video- Your Goodwill had all the things. That rattan chair, ooh lala. Love the owl bookshelves you sold. I have a good collection of owls, my childhood nickname is Hooty Owl. At 65 I still continue to collect and I often receive them for Christmas.
First congratulations on the boots, my dad when he was younger would wear those reptile type boots, he is 74 now. Second I love when you add the pull and ship into your videos, Third I like it when you are chatty, your voice is so soothing, so don't stop being chatty LOL 😂 😂
I'd characterize Hummelstown as a little more of an artist enclave than rural. My mom has run her pottery studio out of her home there for 20+ years. I generally skip the antique barn because the thrift shopping in the area is so good.
The boots, Oh the boots!!! Those boots were made for walking, right into my cart!!! One of these days these boots are going to make me a bunch of cash!!!💞💞🙃💞💞
Hi Karen, love your videos...and your hair! I've been an eBay seller for about 8 months. I don't have an "eBay Store" but thinking about it. Can you tell me the advantages please!
In one of your videos, would you do a brief tutorial on shipping. Such as, what you normally ship in poly mailers and what you ship in boxes. Obviously breakables ship in boxes but what about pictures that are in frames, shoes and other non clothing items. You're so kind to share your knowledge and helpful insights. Thanks Karen!
Karen is my favorite thrifter-reseller, but for shipping tutorials (although Karen has some good ones too) you might want to try shedflips with Lonnie and Candice - that is one of their special areas. They have decided to emphasize tutorials and viewer questions in 2024. Just a thought.
I love that Pier 1 wicker chair! I wanted to buy one just like it about 10 years ago when I was furnishing an apartment in British Colonial style and it was $250+ new. The cheapest I could find was $150 used. If it's in good condition, it should still sell for $100 or more.
When I am in a Goodwill and find a large item, like your chair. I immediately buy it. Put it in the car then come back in. If you walk away from the item, you have no guarantee of getting it.
Happy New Year Karen & Roger! Life is slowly returning to normal & I watched your most welcome video this morning with coffee & brunch. It was fun to see you & Roger thrifting together again. I was the worst when I had an 'Antique Room' in a city locale. I would go to the local Thrift Store in my town & if I saw a great antique/vintage pc of furniture at an appealing price ~ I would buy it, rent a van to pick it up & drive it over an hour to the city where my 'Antique Room' was located, clean it up & stage it. Mind you these were larger expensive pcs. I always loved the mix of unique pcs & furniture with smalls. It worked for me & very much helped my sales. This was before selling online & searching comps. Had to work it all out on my own! 🤗 Challenging for a single lady! Loved those days! Amazing buys on the rattan chair & python cowboy boots! Patty 🐝🌼🌿 Alberta 🇨🇦🍁
Re: the pair of Limoges style vases: you noted a mold line and that they aren't hand thrown. Limoges would never be hand thrown. It was slip cast into molds, and labor was expended to remove mold lines as part of the manufacturing process.
Ok I take anything a wedding, Easter, spring party might need in Jan- April. So candle sticks of worthy are always on that list, platters, serving bowls, cake plates, pedestal anything lol. Formal barware & glasses, cake serving pieces, mirrors, floral vases, serving pieces for meats cheeses. That's my focus. I also love to grab reds, pinks, purples, peach, yellow, mint, greens, blues in linens, focal pieces, because I have a huge booth with a 25 ft windows I need to fill for 5 holidays. From valentines grad, weddings, anniversary, graduations, Easter, thru to summer & July. Thry are great pulls. I tend to stack in my booth bunches of similar pieces . Stacks of Tea items, coffee items, barware then place them around in bunches during seasons. I work it my booth is stuffed not 12 items lol. I really believe in useful items in abundance with changing of volirs from burlap, to white shades, to variances of reds, or 5 types of purple lining my booth area. I make a statement. Our windows have had bright pink & cammo wedding looks to jungle to a perfect Tea time, to 1960 mid century modern you need so much to set that statement wall or make a theme every 3 weeks it's tiring but booths are magical things that transform. So take pics and remember because we often end up buying useful pieces again & again
Always busy as a 🐝!! I admire your work ethic & your 'get-r-done' attitude!! Those snakeskin boots were over the top!! I will be checking the boots from now on.
I have just discovered your videos and have been binge watching them. I love the 'hunt'! Thank you for sharing your packing ideas and where you purchase materials.
19:47 smart! Yes I would rather haul it around! That chair is gorgeous 😊 47:10 😮😮wish you were closer to me! I have baby Jesus and I would’ve bought this! ❤❤
Hi Karen…Those Boots! What a Find! I’m in Texas and buy western boots when ever I can, they always sell fast, I have yet to find a pair of snake or lizard boots. So Happy For You!!
I'm making a suggestion, because I do it for my own shelving, put clear plastic sheeting over your shelving units, so the items stay cleaner longer, you don't have to do all the dusting. Thank you and have a beautiful day
Glad you stood your ground on the wicker chair! I’ve had that happen to me so many times, once another customer claimed there was no ticket & they let her pay before I could get up there to show them the ticket in my hand. It was a whole scene & in the end I just decided it wasn’t worth it but was so frustrated after.
We are the same way today. It snowed and then it’s going to warm up tomorrow. We didn’t get very much and it’s supposed to pick up at 3 o’clock which is it in an hour and a half. It’s really wet.
I think the piece that was from K of P was made in the industrial park near the mall. What a fabulous pair of boots!!! Where did you end up going to dinner?? Pool noodles are also good for putting into boots so they hold their shape.
That first candle stick holder you showed I have the exact same one. I got it from my friends secondhand store and I absolutely love it. I had it out at Christmas time.
We might have gotten a half an inch. I think if it was fluffier, it would be more but it’s so heavy so wet. We’re supposed to get a mix this afternoon and I hope not.
I’m watching your videos older ones to get my thrift store fix. I don’t thrift store shop much except with my friend a couple times a year. I like estate sales but try to declutter. lol. You have great thrift stores. California is too expensive. Not a lot of deals. THANK YOU FOR YOUR CHANNEL.
As a reseller I am giddy with you over a great find! Correct in my opinion on vases. I use quilt racks for different tissue papers (from you know who) how do you feel about ZARA brand? And yes to your look always.
Always glad to see your videos. Snowing in Wyoming but not nearly as much as last year. In my second week as full time semiretired reseller. Thank you for inspiring me. Love you find items that are made from reptiles. Those boots! OMG. I’ve found one pair of Tony lama that were snake skin. And several belts. Enjoy your weekend. I use a lot of salt due to my driveway being sloped. I buy medium salt that the ranchers use for livestock. Much cheaper and very effective. Last few days a good deal of items I list are selling within hours. 🎉
That chair looks like Tommy Bahama....I would pick that up. Your stores in PA are so much better than our OH stores. I need to take a road trip with my mini van! Happy 2024!
As always, great video! Fun & engaging. Regarding those two Asian floral vases, I think you made the right choice by NOT taking them. With no branding & not great quality, I wouldn’t have picked them up.
Check to see if the low comps for the clocks are bids. I've noticed that many times lowest comps are auctions that were started very low. Maybe it's a condition issue as well? Possibly the lower ones didn't work?
Love your videos. I always learn something. However, today, the snow stole the show! So pretty. I live on the North Carolina coast and don't get to see snow very often. Thanks for sharing.
Central Connecticut got about five maybe 6 inches of snow, which is not bad at all considering they said 5 to 10 or 5 to 12 inches. Those boots were really cool.
Your strangers in the photo frame comment made me laugh. My husband modeled in his younger days, before me. After we were married, I was in Hallmark looking at some frames and I did a double take…there he was in the photo riding a bike. Of course I bought it. Thanks for sparking that funny memory.
Good morning Karen. You always look stylish and smart 10 out of 10 🙂
Our goodwills don’t allow items taken to the restroom so I left my huge ceramic vintage cat in a basket under some clothes..was only in rr for 3 minutes came out and a person took my find. I kindly chased her down and asked for the cat back. She gave it to me but it’s cut throat sometimes thrifting! In your case you were pushing the cart. Glad you did what you did.
Same thing happened to me & I’m going to pay for the item(s) I want first & then try on! It was cat earrings by Betsy Johnson (for Halloween) 😢
I would have been extremely angry about that. The nerve of some people. She probably does it frequently.
Hey fellow viewers, if you enjoy Karen’s videos, give her a LIKE 👍🏻, this will really help her channel so much.

That chair…fab! My hubby and I were just talking about finding a pair of this style for our under the deck covered patio…poolside.Love, love, love!
I love your terminology for those models in the framed photos: " Fake People." 😂

Love how organized you are. You don’t need a spreadsheet. You’re hand written one is a spreadsheet 😊
Karen, my granddaughter gave me 2 1913 stamped and signed mermaid beautiful authentic water colors.
Where can I get them appraised?
The framed fabric reminds me of Blanches room on golden girls.
Yes, it does! I really like that leaf print and Blanche's room was gorgeous!!

As always, great video! Fun & engaging. Regarding those two Asian floral vases, I think you made the right choice by NOT taking them. With no branding & not great quality, I wouldn’t have picked them up.
My kids built quite a nice snowman yesterday. It’s nice to finally get a decent snowfall in central PA!
❤I love a video with all kinds of crazy goodness going on❤ thanks for sharing it all, dear Karen 💜
I love the vintage pinkish flowers
I’m looking at that table behind your chair, the one with the pink bird on it. Nice!
The Western boots were a great score! They can be resoled and will be like brand new. My husband had a pair resoled three times.
I love the door topper, floral.
Champion is really on the comeback buy buy !!
Check to see if the low comps for the clocks are bids. I've noticed that many times lowest comps are auctions that were started very low. Maybe it's a condition issue as well? Possibly the lower ones didn't work?
Do you ever end listing and resell similar? I was just wondering when you said you have hundreds of dresses. Thanks for another great video!

Happy New Year Karen! 🎉
I have OCD and I Love how detailed you are.😍
Love the vases, even with the crack.
