    I took Montana Monteros advice on 285/75/R16 K02, I didn't have any clearance issues for spare mount. Literally just threw it on.

    Hey Marco. Commenting on an older video I know, but just wanted to share something I've recently run across. I've not lifted my Monty yet, but plan to maybe next year. While doing other shopping at Budget 4X4 Life, I noticed they have adjustable sway bar links. Just got them in from Australia, and MAN, they seem really heavy-duty! I gotta think that lengthening those end links a bit when doing a lift would help at least a little with articulation. Maybe give those a try if you have time and/or do a little Partnership with the Aussie blokes if you find them worthy.

      Thx for the tip. We’re the SuperPro US Montero parts dealer now and they have adjustable sway bar links, maybe we’ll give them a try!

    Koni Heavy track for the fronts are good for the most part, adjusted for Max firm with old man emu Hd spring. After 32k miles, the cir-clip for the spring perch failed. Thankfully the bumpstops did their job!

    Nice setup! I'm really enjoying watching videos about this platform. I always like it from back in the day.
    So while you were going over regearing, I was wondering how the computer reacts to that along with larger tires. I would guess the speedometer and odometer are both off with the change. Are there programmers available to correct for this?

    • @luso_overland
      @luso_overland  7 місяців тому

      That's correct, both are off by 11% with the larger tires. I'm not sure the odometer can ever be corrected but the speedometer gear on the side of the transmission can be replaced to correct that.

      @@luso_overland That sounds a lot like older Jeeps. It's great there is an option. Do you carry that gear in your store or do you have (a) part number(s)?

    When you go 4 low locked, the traction control will turn off, front axle will truly be open, and in 4 high lock , won’t the traction control unnecessary break any of the rear wheels when front wheel spins ?

    These Gen3 monteros are great until they leave you in the middle of Mexico and can’t find a pedal throttle position sensor anywhere nearby. The amount of money spent to tow the truck was ridiculous. Carry a spare tps and you won’t be sorry you did. Even though you can only get the Chinese made ones it worth having.

      @luso_overland  6 місяців тому +1

      Oh wow, can't say I've ever heard of that issue before. Do you have a part number for this TPS?

    I heard on one of the Montero Facebook groups that Boo’s was no longer making new bash plates. Any chance you’d consider picking up another brand like Asfir 4x4 or RHS off-road engineering for skid plates at Luso?

      @luso_overland  9 місяців тому +2

      Yes, we're working on it. Still lots of Boo's stock available though.

    I have the same wheels on my 05. Are the vinyl stickers pre cut?

      Yes, pre-cut vinyl from a company called TVD

    i run load E tires @ 30-40psi on my Montero. they do ride a little harsh, but they last a long time, and load C tires are harder to find in 265/75/16. 30 psi gives good ride, 40psi makes the steering a little crisper and I get more mpg.
    i also have kyb gas a just shocks on my Montero, so a floaty, soft ride is not what i have
    keep making videos!
