Gracias Davi Covardale y a ti Peter Brehm. Muchísimas gracias a quien lo subió. Es un lujazo oír esta voz. 😊😊
When I met the man, from 50 feet away. The event: California Jam 1974 Headliner Deep Purple David Coverdale Black Sabbath. I was 12yo on my dad's shoulders. I got three guitar picks out of a fistful Ritchie Blackmore flung in our general direction. About 50 splashed my hand, but when I opened was happy to see three. Watch the video: Burn CAL JAM '74 Tell me whether or not you believe Coverdale left every bit of that on the stage! One of the best individual performances ever. Sure Gilliam, Blackmore, yada yada...the BA'AM! WHITESNAKE, debut album, every song wicked AF. Steve Vai. C'mon he became available for this ride and .... Flashback... Hold it... Okay, I'm back
Pumping bass, driving drums, flying guitar solos and plenty of rock star posturing. Worship the Goddess who took a bite of the apple, provided by, of course - the snake. Which is white. It's all here, absolute rock'n'roll! What more do you want?
I remember seeing Deep Purple play this masterpiece on TV at the California Jam in 74’ as a 14 yr old kid and I changed from top 40 crap music to hard rock and been headbangin’ for the last 44 years! I’m gonna have to send Coverdale my chiropractor bill since I began headbangin’ uncontrollably today and dislocated some of my neck vertebrae! As a 58 yr old dude I need to mellow out! On second thought..............".Nah! Ha Ha!
Ese concierto de Deep Purple en California en 1974 lo vi por primera vez en 1985, en vídeo, un gran concierto, eso sí a David Coverdfale se le nota el paso de los años con la voz, algo lógico. That concert of Deep Purple in California in 1974 I saw it for the first time in 1985, in video, a great concert, that yes to David Coverdfale you can see the passage of years with the voice, something logical.
Thank you David Coverdale for all your years of giving us happiness and pleasure and your music fool for your loving no more is one of my all-time favorite songs you guys did such a great job on that phone God bless you and thank you for your service
David, Whitesnake! I simply got tears in my eyes! I've always imagined this girl from the lyrics!!! I'm 32, but BURN is the best rock song/lyrics ever!!! Thank you all for this AMAZING gift!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
This is just Amazing, it is hands down one of Purples greatest songs and Mr. Coverdale is still belting it like he is 20, very excited to hear what this lineup of Beach/Coverdale and Hoekstra are going to accomplish on their upcoming album, hopefully this energy prevails and they just RIP it up as they proved they can here. Thank you David for not bowing out as you said you might you have many years to go.... Cheers!!!!! And not forgetting that amazing band of Michael Devin on Bass and Michele Luppi keyboardists super extremus and the forever young skin bashing madman known as Tommy Aldridge... thank you Whitesnake for keeping the rock real...
Great, brilliant, all that. But let's never forget -- the thing that makes this classic from 1974 still amazing is the unforgettable guitar (and signature riff) from Blackmore. Blackmore IS the reason this song (and many others) have endured and will always be classics.
Vitor Barbosa Aye, it's got the punch and heavyness the original lacked to be perfect. It's always been a great song, but turning it from a rock song into a melodic metal piece takes it to the top. Love Whitesnake, need more stuff. :D
Being Burned like this by Whitesnake is leaving me Deep Purple. Nice. Can't wait to see you on tour this Summer. I've seen Deep Purple and Trans Siberian Orchestra in the past couple years. I caught Joel's pick at TSO. Now, I get to see Whitesnake. The cool thing is that it will be at a huge venue and thousands of other super awesome people get to enjoy too. WOOT.
It's crazy. At 1:43 the which with the fire oozing out of her hands looks _exactly_ as I have imagined her since I was a kid. Whoever directed this nailed it!
Absolutely fucking awesome. Been into the snake for about 38+ years and thought they'd never better the early 80's material with Marsden and Moody , but his latest reincarnation of the last 10 years absolutely blows me away. Thank you guys and happy new year.
What a fantastic seasonal DC message and wow ! What a brilliant version of one of the best set opening live tracks ever ! Happy New Year from Darwen UK !
Bellissimo video!
I tell you somethin': I too liked like crazy Doug's play. But, dudes, Hoekstra here, rips the heart out of it! Whilst Beach interprets Blackmore's solo, Hoekstra resembles Lord's solo!!! How GENIUS and brilliant! Just watch his fingers flying over the fretboard... man... what a vision for sore eyes!
Coverdale brings God status to Burn. I was on my dad's shoulders from about 50 feet from the stage. It was 1974, in Southern California at the Ontario airport about 30 miles East of Los Angeles. Almost 150,000 of us packed that place good! The California Jam music festival. David Coverdale ripped the cover off this #. Deep Purple was on 🔥🚒 fire. So much so they were headliners over Black Sabbath. The Album Burn has just dropped and the were doing a world tour behind Machinehead, which, out 18 months, had already gone platinum in the USA and UK. Sabbath was idling and had been replaced on the "What have you done for me lately", basis. SBS in '73 went platinum early in '74 but was eclipsed by Ritchie, Ian and David. Ritchie turned out to be a pompous ass and two years later, they broke up. I don't even think Coverdale finished the tour. Later, once Ritchie threw together Rainbow (according to the cover, RITCHIE BLACKMORE'S RAINBOW 🌈, He brought Dio in but never spoke to the man. He went from virtuoso to vainglory, despite his magic on the guitar

The mighty Hammond B-3. Back in the 70's, my late dad had one in the freakin' living room along with the Leslie speaker. The B-3 simply belongs in rock music. The Wurlitzer is a great organ, but doesn't lend itself to rock the same way.
I miss Doug Aldrich. His presence and talent is top tier and he and Reb Beach were extremely compatible who kicked ass together and both appeared to love what they were doing together. Doug was the greatest WS guitarist since John Sykes. A perfect match for David and the Whitesnake movement.
But Joel Hoekstra is an AMAZING guitarist too, and is an incredibly flexible guitarist about to work well in about every situation, just like Reb. Joel plays with Transiberian Orchestra too--so many amazing guitarists have played for WS over the years! 🤘🤘
Fuck the critics, Coverdale really delivers. A true gentleman and a talented guy. Everybody gets old some day. But what he has done will always be remembered. Keep on rocking.
David Coverdale has given so much to the Rock World all these years and I got to tell you even at 70 he still rocks
Gracias Davi Covardale y a ti Peter Brehm. Muchísimas gracias a quien lo subió. Es un lujazo oír esta voz. 😊😊
That was, well, hot! David never fails to deliver, when he sings he literally gives away his blood and soul, much to our redemption 🥰💖
People complaining about Coverdale’s voice... he’s almost 70! I’m just happy he’s still making music and performing! Plus, he sounds great to me!
he sounds damn good to me
that is it man he is great a true inspiration !
David Chaves , He does, yes sir, he does and they still ROCK
People complaining about it is soooo annoying. I bet they can't even sing during a shower time. Dave is a living legend... come on dudes!
He still sounds amazing considering his age.

Vitor Barbosa I like the instrumental version by Michael ANgelo Batio better.
Robert Brown Never heard it before so I'll give it a listen 😊
Vitor Barbosa yeah he used 2 play for the band Nitro. until he began his solo career.
Vitor Barbosa Aye, it's got the punch and heavyness the original lacked to be perfect. It's always been a great song, but turning it from a rock song into a melodic metal piece takes it to the top. Love Whitesnake, need more stuff. :D
Agreed :)
Impressive. I rediscovered Whitesnake recently after many years. It is a wonderful metamophosis. Love to see this album in concert in Europe.

Stormbringer and Burn are both my favorite videos and songs from The Purple Album 💞 !!
I saw Whitesnake live about 10 years ago, and the guy on keyboards that day really struggled with Burn.
I'm happy to see the upgrade.
It's crazy. At 1:43 the which with the fire oozing out of her hands looks _exactly_ as I have imagined her since I was a kid. Whoever directed this nailed it!
Great energy in this song, and excellent guitar work!
Absolutely fucking awesome. Been into the snake for about 38+ years and thought they'd never better the early 80's material with Marsden and Moody , but his latest reincarnation of the last 10 years absolutely blows me away. Thank you guys and happy new year.
I love The Moody Marsden era, but I think Good to be Bad is one of their best albums...Forevermore is damn good as well

David Coverdale is not afraid to live on fire, the fire just tickles his creative strings of the soul ...
Joel Hoekstra is absolutely phenomenal. In my top 5 best all time guitarists who I hope to meet someday
Disclaimer: Joel is a friend of mine. And yes, yes he is!
Rory Jarrard that's awesome you know him. He seems like a very humble guy
He really is down to earth for being a "rock star". Just a genuinely good guy. And so talented, as you can see and hear!
@luis
if you want to meet him, why don't you contact his agent and book him
Rory Jarrard he’s a top bloke 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

What a surprise hearing Michele Luppi at keyboard. Also awesome singer as already stated!
The mighty Hammond B-3. Back in the 70's, my late dad had one in the freakin' living room along with the Leslie speaker.
The B-3 simply belongs in rock music. The Wurlitzer is a great organ, but doesn't lend itself to rock the same way.

Steve Vai was WS Most Talented
Don't forget Adje and Steve.
Give me some of what your smoking....did you forget Adrian Vandenberg and Vivian Campbell
I miss Doug A. so much, too. They were perfect together.
