Seeing Hosoi and Grosso sitting together clean and sober is fucking amazing. The skateboard community could have easily lost both of these dudes to drugs and 15 years or so later to see them laughing and talking about back in the day is best. Skateboarding is the best thing ever. RIP to anyone who got lost along the way.
you could also argue both these guys wouldn't have been the skaters they were without the drug use man ... but I do get your sentiment
Remember that one dude in the GX1000 edit. Everything in moderation, except adrenaline.
Naw, their "hay" day of skateboarding was the 80's before vert got killed off in the early 90's, after that they became straight up addicts. Hosoi could kinda skate on tweak but Grosso was a full on junkie.
GX1000 and that edit in particular is my favorite thing in skateboarding right now. I show that shit to people who don't even skate.
Completely fucking agree. and knowing how when Grosso was at such a low ass point in his addiction, Hasoi although he was just as fucked up stood by Grosso when everyone turned their backs on him and now they are sitting on the couch together sober. so much respect for them
Saw Lester ripping it up in Toronto in 87', I can't remember my wife's birthday but I'll never forget his runs.

No mention of Sergie Ventura? When I was a young teenager I heard a legend that him and his crew scared themselves with forks heated up on the stove, The Stringrays, I was so blown away about that, plus he was another eastern blaster.
Christian Hosoi is still a true legend and most influential in not just my skateboarding life but in the entire skateboarding world, still inspiring and spreading the stoke worldwide. For me in the world of skating you are still the definition of what skating is and what it will forever be. 'Nuff respect and one love!!! Team Hosoi!!!

I'm so glad to see one of my childhood hero's clean and sober. Like many of you I saw Christian skate vert live. I'm 41 and remember it like it was yesterday. I just bought a big ass hammerhead for my daughter. fuck buying her one of those pieces of shit small boards. She needs to learn on what I skated back in the day.
