@@beepboopkitty yes he said that. At the end of the documentary “Stoked: The Rise and Fall of Gator” they show transcripts from interviews with him. He became a born-again Christian and said he wasn’t capable of doing those things and so it must have been a demon controlling him. He still has not accepted responsibility for his crimes.

Sexually assaulted his ex's friend, murdered her after torturing her for hours then put her in his surfboard bag and suffocated her then dumped her body in the desert and didnt confess until someone found her body. Skysthelimit212 No, I thought he confessed even before anyone knew. He told one of his Christian skateboarding friends for advice and he convinced Gator to confess which he did soon as his friend took him to a nearby police station. What he did was still vile nonetheless.

    • @Skysthelimit212

@@annora1342 my response was to the original comment. But some hikers found her body in 1991 and he confessed later on because he was wracked with guilt. Then he went to his friend who is a christian skateboarder and confessed to him. A train went by and he bolted from his friends house (this is his friends account by the way he actually said this in an episode of Shattered about her murder) but he caught him before he got to his car and said what are you going to do and that's when he went to confess. After those hikers found her skeleton. I wonder if he would have felt the same if she was never found. I have no sympathy for him or what he threw away etc. I read a lot of comments about him because I was curious after the crime doc, and I saw a lot of talk about how he threw his life away and how much it sucked and I'm like this guy got insanely jealous after his break up with his ex. Her friend calls him to show her around and he rapes and kills her after hes insane! She lost her life. He lost his career and hes still living. I was just like he deserves to be under the prison for the rest of his life!

I guarantee you, he is most likely in much better shape, than most people half his age. Even though people can still get meth, dope and hooch in prison -and he might have dabbled in it in the past, but he doesn't look strung-out (plus, drug debts can get you killed real quick), and also by the way he speaks, I can tell he's probably spent much of his time in recovery type programs; I had some substance abuse issues in the 90s, as Gator did in the years leading up to the rape/murder... Anyway I used to go to AA/NA meetings in the early-mid 2000s, and have a lot of family/friends in recovery, and I can usually pick up on the way people word things, that tells me that they most likely are involved in some type of 12-step program, or some other type of recovery program (plus, being involved with 12-step programs would help his possibly of making parole. He was first eligible back in 2012, but obviously was denied).
Anyhow I've had cousins, family members and friends who have done time, and they all came out in much better physical shape than they were in before prison. Working out is more or less 'mandatory.'

Mark at least came clean and admitted what he had done, he has spent 31 years in prison, and if he ever gets out, he will never have any normalcy in his life. It is often said that the truth always lies somewhere in the middle, he was facing the needle if he didn't straight up confess to Murder 1, and Rape 2nd degree. Those are the facts, should he be set free? that is not for anyone to say here, it's up to the San Diego County Parole Board. I believe he has served his time, and then some. Is he sorry for what he has done?, no one can decide that but himself.

Then beat her with a steering wheel lock. Put her in a surfboard bag. Strangled her while she was inside. Then dumped her body. Feel bad for Jessica’s family who lost her at the age of 22 to an psychopath and rapist. The true definition of a narcissist. Even other skaters said that he wasn’t a nice person. "Rehabilitated" really isn't what he's going for here. "In recovery" is what he wants the camera to believe. From his speech, it sounds like he is trying to believe it too. Mental illness is a hard thing to have to deal with. Everyone is born with a different mind, having different strengths and weakness, and everybody experiences different stimuli. Some things we all hope to have experienced before we really get tested is some kind of insight into our shortcomings and the learning of methods to mitigate our natural unhealthy tendencies. Once someone develops beyond a certain point, the best they can do is try to recognize and mitigate the darkened or missing parts of their personality, and proceed with actions that define their life in the most positive way they can manage. It's not the end of the world if Gator gets out of prison or if he spends the remainder of his life there. It would be quite unfortunate, however, for a man as smart as he is to not make use of the recovery program that is obviously being made available to him, as he still must live with himself and (wether he believes in it or not) he is at least serious about acting in a way that aligns him with God.

What he did was terrible. He deserves to rot in prison. Inmates always talk about not having god in their life and that lead them on the path they are on. They talk about responsibility but until they stop blaming demons and the devil for the horrible things they did, they are not taking responsibility. Stop using god and satan as a crutch. Until you say You raped , tortured, and murdered another person because you made that choice. You won’t be taking responsibility. I am not against a person believing in god. All I am saying is god or lack of didn’t cause you to commit murder. Religions may preach morals but the ability to see right from wrong and act accordingly is not exclusive to Christianity or any religion. Pray to your god. Ask forgiveness if that is what you believe in but if someone asks why just tell them I am or was a terrible human and I did a horrible thing. You can say you regret it if you want but don’t say the devil made me do it.

Zero remorse. Zero taking responsibility. Governor Newsome steps in and reverses the parole.

Thank you for posting this video! "Gator" was from my era! I remember thinking of him the first time I ever dropped in on a half-pipe, when I was 10-11 years old, rocking some "Vision Streat Wear" shoes!
I can remember when "STOKED: the Rise and Fall of Gator" came out in the early 2000s. I had it on VHS tape, at one time, and I remember, at the time it was made, CA prison system would not allow video of him to be shown in the documentary, but they allowed some audio interview, but over the years, like around 2009/2010, I remember seeing documentaries on the Aryan Brotherhood, the Mexican Mafia, and all kind of CA prison gangs, where they interviewed gang defectors in PC, and a few active members (at least that's what they claimed on TV), who were either shown in "disguise" or only said very vague things about prison life, so I started looking everywhere for footage of Gator, as CA apparently changed their rules on the "no video" thing, so finally, I found a video of Gator! He actually looks surprisingly close to how I pictured him, in my mind!

For me it was almost as if the 20something yr old gator we all knew stepped into a time machine and became a man in his fifties lol. It's a trip to realize how it's been nearly 3 decades in the pen for him, just watching the world go by while he remains in one spot, void of any female relationship or drugs and alcohol (for the most part). Whether he should ever be let back into society is a complicated consideration though..

@@stupidazzo5404 That's a good question. In my opinion, nothing he does will erease what he did back in 91. It's nice to see that he became a more down to earth type of person after so many years on prison, but he will always be in debt with society. If he should get out one day when he's done with his sentence i would only give an answer if i was a psicology especialist studing him close enough to know if he is truly changed

Skated a mini ramp right down the street from the killing scene with Mark just after he murdered the girl but hadn't turned himself in yet. I had skated with him in the past and he wasn't that nice but on this day it was just him and I and he introduced himself to me and shook my hand 👹 . The condo he killed the girl at is the condo that Kris Malkovich Ollie's a set of stairs over a metal gate and in between two concrete walls ( g & s video maybe ? ).
