Same. Ensemble black comedy sitcoms are weird like that. Seinfeld, Arrested Development, It's Always Sunny, Modern Family, Married with Children -- they're all a bunch of fuck ups that do quirky things and they all have signature sayings or sad but endearing behavior. You have to really immerse yourself in the characters and sort of fall in love with them, despite their flaws. If you can't do that, you can't get the humor or understand the endearing qualities of clueless assholes you normally wouldn't want to be around.

I was in a college dorm when this came out, and my roommate and I were watching this episode, he was going to go smoke some weed when he offered me to join. I didn't usually partake, but I decided to join in. I couldn't ask for a better moment for being giggly to watch, it was priceless.
