I purchased one in 1973 and took it when I moved to Hawaii. It was an absolute dream to drive with the air suspension system which was ahead of its time. That was about the time of the first gas crisis and Hawaii was truly at the end of the pipeline for gas. Needless to say I didn't do much driving during that time. I really miss it.
The vehicle is truly a powerhouse! What I can recommend for the modification is our 6-Speed Classic transmission. It's a 6-speed manual gearbox specifically designed for classic vehicles.

A spectacular car that, from the looks of it, is only let down by a rather mediocre job of reupholstering in incorrect non-MB hide. Otherwise, really a lovely example.
C ' est quant même malheureux que Mercedes ne fait plus de belles voitures .ILS ne font plus que des horreurs avec des phares qui coupent les coins ,des vitres arrières qui descendent en pente douce ,des derrières trop gros ,des jupes avant qui traînent presque par terre ,des volant trop petits ...Et de la connectivité de si ou ça qu ' on en rien a cirer .En tout cas au point de vue modèle ,Mercedes doit faire marche arrière ou je n ' achète pas et je vais bientôt changer ...
