My grandfather had one. Dark green with pigskin leather seats that smelled heavenly. But it drove like a truck--the air suspension didn't age well, the accelerator wasn't linear such that you couldn't start up smoothly even when you were trying, and the whole thing was heavy and ponderous. Not a driver's car at all. But gorgeously built. The interior was to die for. And very handsome styling. Just not a good car to drive is all. Of course my grandfather had a driver so he sat in back.
What a magnificent restoration must’ve cost a mint a beautiful colour combination I would have that car over a brand-new one any time it looks so classy as the new ones of today don’t they just look like I Kia.
In 1974, I bought a 300 SEL 6.9, yes, customized by the first owner, an American, had to leave and could not take it due to more strict exhaust regulations in California. I paid little for that car She was a car and a half, heavy on Petrol and Oil, but pushed the body back when lifted off. I sold it and bought a 450, 6.9. In 2003, I bought a BMW 750il V12 (E38), 1998, a BMW Dealer's Demo car, US Specs, fully loaded and brought back to England. Without a doubt she is another car and a half. V12 are quite rare and becoming rarer.
What a beautifully restored car! Love it
What a marvellous piece of machinery
