  • The Philippines has emerged as a staunch supporter of Ukraine, reflecting a consistent commitment to international norms, sovereignty, and peace. This is exemplified by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.'s meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Manila, where Marcos pledged to attend a global peace summit and expedited aid delivery to Ukraine. The visit, marked by military honors and a red-carpet reception, underscored the Philippines' dedication to Ukraine's cause. This support is further demonstrated by the Philippines' vocal condemnation of Russia's invasion, as evidenced by its affirmative votes on six UN General Assembly resolutions supporting Ukraine. Historical ties between the two nations date back to 1992, with significant diplomatic engagements and agreements over the years. Amidst regional geopolitical tensions, particularly in the South China Sea, Marcos has adopted a more assertive stance against China's actions while strengthening ties with the United States, balancing complex relationships, and advocating for regional collaboration on common interests. This principled diplomacy underscores the Philippines' role in promoting peace and stability both regionally and globally, reinforcing its commitment to a rules-based international order and the upholding of international law. The Philippines should seek cooperation with Ukraine in the development and production of its own ballistic missiles and drones.

If Putin succeeds, you can be sure that Putin will support China's relentless push to put ASEAN and all of its neighbors under the umbrella of Chinese hegemony.

Philippines should not get involve with Ukraine! Phil has a good relation with Russia! But its right for the Philippine to accept Ukraine refugees or Russian refugees! Dont be dumbed Philippines! You are already fighting China, dont be a fool to include Russia!

Russia is our friend and history tells that. 🇵🇭 Is the only country who helped Russian people during haluocost. Being involved to ukrain is helping them by sending Filipino mental professional. And supporting peace summit and refugees for humanitarian sake.

Philippines was not dumb now. It gets smarter because of the new president. Unlike the previous one. Of course we will support Ukraine because we value humility while being friendly with russia. Dont mention china. We dont care about that

True that we should include Russia if Philippines starts a war with China. Since Philippines has mutual defense treaty with the US, the US will join the war on the Philippine side and Russia who also has a Mutual defense treaty with China will also join in but in China's side. That would mean Russia by it's MDT with China will automatically be an enemy of the Philippines even if they don't have any conflict at the beginning.

Friendship will always be there if there’s peace. If Ukraine dies, the next move of Russia and China is the world. Russia friendship with the Philippines is to balance their needs but will be loyal to China. Dictators goal is to control.
