Ukraine is a civil war. It’s the east V the west. It goes back to the Second World War - the side we back were the ones fighting with Germany. East Ukraine fought with Russia. Get your facts right - Ukraine is not one indigenous people. Russia are fighting for their own countrymen in the east.

Kinda hard to hold elections when millions of Ukrainians are scattered around the world, hundreds of thousands are on the front line being shelled, and the civilian population is also being shelled in the cities.

And an interesting case to think about. "Estonia elected its parliament in the first week of March, and 51% cast their vote online. Estonia has offered secure i-voting since 2005." Do you think Ukraine could do something like this to lower necessity for the vast majority of people, to go somewhere for voting, and also allow Ukrainians to vote in other countries using authentication by id?

Both Putin and Zelensky seem to have no problem using their soldiers and own people as pawns for their goals. Yet imagine the hesitation they may have if they had to one on one fight to the death- and the one who killed the other would be declared winner. They would not endanger their own skin for that. Of course there are millions of Ukrainian refugees; many of draft age that he wants extrodited, who'd get to vote. There are those who've tried to flee, and those who've been press-ganged into the military. There's the issue of state control over the media, banned opposition, suppression of the Church, curtailment of trade union rights, and the fact that he won by a landslide 73% in 2019 promising a negotiated peace agreement.

Exactly 10 years ago, a Ukrainian Armed Forces plane struck the area of the administration building of the Lugansk region. 8 people were killed, 28 were injured.
The strike had no military meaning; it was an act of intimidation, ordinary terror. In Ukraine there was a cynical joke: “the air conditioner exploded.”
The “civilized world” ignored this terrorist attack, as well as the subsequent atrocities against the civilian population of Donbass over the next 10 years.
