My sister-in-law left my brother for years ago. She left a jewelry armoire, and my brother didn’t want it and I got it. It took me four hours to go through it.
My face😮when you throw the jewelry in the bin from the table, I recently found your channel and thanks for all the help you guys provide us with and the humor and laughs 😂❤❤
The Gibson is great and your luthier is right on the cost to repair, and that's just what he has found now before taking it apart. I have to pay $500 just for a neck reset. These are player's instruments (acoustic blues players love them) so I wouldn't worry too much about the cosmetics like the back of the neck. the owner probably had put a soundhole pickup in it which would explain the hole in the tail end, this was where the pickup jack was. It seems you have a good take on what's what with it. Good luck! Also I was dying at your jewelry haul. You got some fantastic stuff there.
I am new to selling on eBay. I bought a hoarder's home. I have sorted out all the jewelry. I am so happy I have found your UA-cam show. Thank you for sharing your talent. I have learned so much from you. One thing I need help with is the tools to test jewelry and how to test the jewelry. Do you teach how to test jewelry, and what tools to buy, where to get them?
Fab finds and great strategy for sourcing and selling. You potentially had a set! You've probably sold them already. It looked like there were two earrings that matched the big AB brooch - shape, design, etc were the same. Selling as a set/matching lot can bump up price a little.
Its pronounced”Gee Von Shay” Rusty.. ive got thousands of pieces of vintage jewellery.. im struggling to sort them all so ty for the tip on diff tubs etc very helpful
Rusty, How can you tell if something is GoldFilled? I understand Gold Plated is on the outside, Right? But I dont know whats on the Inside 😊. And if a magnet sticks to jewelry, Its Fake. Right? Thank you. I just found your site a few days ago, by accident. Im glad I did. I did subscribe too. 🙂
Gold filled jewelry can say "Gold Filled" or "GF" and will say the karat and the fraction thereof. It might say fully "Gold Filled 14k 1/10," or it might only say 1/20 10k or 10k GF. (The minimum amount will be 5% or 1/20.) As 10k is 41.7% gold, that would mean 5% of the total weight of the item is 31.5% actual pure gold. With 1/10 14k, 1/10 being 10% and 14k as 58.5% gold, 10% of the total weight of the item would be 58.5% pure gold. Etc
A pawn shop told my best friend that they throw away the stones, including diamonds, when they melt. Is this true? They told her they're worthless. She kept her items.
This is true. I worked at a gold buying store and pawn shop. Part of my job was removing gems. They are tossed in a jar and sit on a shelf until they resell to a jeweler.
Hey Cousin, Have you ever used eBay’s jewelry authenticity service? I have a few $$$ pieces but live in small town. I literally would have to drive several hours to a gemologist to get stuff appraised.
Rusty, love your videos!! I learn a lot from you! Here’s something for you to help you! Givenchy is pronounced Jee-von-she or you can say the last syllable as chi, like a chihuahua. Thanks for all you do to help others learn about reselling! ❤
At 19:44 the charm has a Masonic emblem on it, the item at 19:51 is a charm to protect against the evil eye. I have seen a few blue evil eye protection charms before. I am not sure what the engraving on the charm is, possibly Arabic calligraphy.
Givenchy is one of the top designers.- just off that basis its going to be worth money. Just like Burberry, Balmain, Louis Vuitton, Etc. All There stuff gets lots of eyes because of the name.
When u say u get $1/gram of GF- do u mean by putting it up as Buy Now online OR at a local Buy Gold & Silver Business/Individual? I absolutely LOVE your videos, they are always so packed full of great info & even better tips!!!
I was wondering if you could me identify this mark on an old pearl necklace clasp. It starts with a M and gold or silver blobbed over a few letters, then ends in boux. I have tried everywhere but a jewelry store. Thanks if you can help
So the jewelry that has the eyeball, the blue eyeball that says God in Arabic and some people superstition, they believe that when they have that blue eye that that removes any evil eye or evil energy
Great information! Thank you for this video! Has a NEW jewellery collector, I so much needed this video! 😊❤

Yes. We have a couple videos on jewelry testing. You can get a gold scratch test kit on Amazon for $20 or so

There's some gorgeous pieces in your haul! Love the Menorah brooch! Congrats!
I’m in California and eBay takes taxes out for me. A few years back we had to figure out the tax for the listing. Glad they changed it.

With a soft sounding G if this makes sense Rusty
In the UK, we pronounce it "Jiv on shee" 😄
Jee-Von-She is correct. Not “Shay” 😂
Just one Givenchy can bring you 200$ )) good find !
when you say you get a dollar per gram, where do you sell these types of gold items?
Don’t toss the jewelry like that the rhinestones will fall out. 😉
Don't throw out the jewelry they buy it for harvest and different reasons.

I have never bought a bog lot, like that. How do you find
We're do you post your craft jewelry lots on?

The light green stone is jadeite.
Where do you find the huge lots of jewelry..it's so hard for me to get...
I buy LOTS and craft with it .
I think that first piece held a mustard seed, as in scripture verse that says you only need faith the size of a mustard seed
Thank you! I learned a lot ❤️
Please make a thrift store pile to put the cheap things (I love thrift stores)

How can I find ebays authenticy stuff?

Thanks for the education. Would be interested in a follow up about the Gibson and the outcome with the seller.

I'm salivating! It would be worth the $205 to me just for the fun of sorting it and treasure hunting! Haha...entertainment value!
The blue eye ball is called a “evil eye “. It’s for warding off ill harm
Givenchy is one of the top designers.- just off that basis its going to be worth money. Just like Burberry, Balmain, Louis Vuitton, Etc. All There stuff gets lots of eyes because of the name.
I think you should try to get top dollar for your top pieces and dont worry about getting your money back so much. You obviously have a winner
Do you sell gold as is or by weight? If by weight, how does that work..take to a jeweler?
When u say u get $1/gram of GF- do u mean by putting it up as Buy Now online OR at a local Buy Gold & Silver Business/Individual?
I absolutely LOVE your videos, they are always so packed full of great info & even better tips!!!
How come I can't find deals like that? Lol Nice
I'd also like to know that?😅 Where does he go to find stuff like that?
Great Video, Rusty.
I like your strategy! Learned a-lot. Fairly new subscriber and really enjoy watching you!!
Do you buy hand beaded jewelry? The designs are not mine. I just bead for fun and use to sell at shows.
I was wondering if you could me identify this mark on an old pearl necklace clasp. It starts with a M and gold or silver blobbed over a few letters, then ends in boux. I have tried everywhere but a jewelry store. Thanks if you can help
It could be Marboux
Do you use Google Lens? It would be a game changer for you if you do not.
How do I find out if my pearls are real & their worth??
Where do you sell your items?
Thank you for this. It’s very helpful!
