    Your channel not skyrocketing to 1 million is living proof that a huge number of people don't take time to understand audio as seriously as they should be. Amazing content as always!

      Audio is very often overlooked in all productions, unfortunately.

    Another great video on a simple but important concept which is often overlooked. I’ve often had dialogue tracks that have been recorded in stereo.
    Would love a video on working with convolution reverbs like Stratus as they’re my favourite effect.
    Thanks again.

      Glad it’s helping! Sometimes it’s seemingly simple stuff that can make or break a mix!

    Awesome video, exactly what I was looking for! More detailed question though: how is atmospheric tracks made to sound fluid between shots? For example, if beach and sand/wind atmos is placed in a windy beach scene, is that generally put in the centre of the stereofield, or can these be panned? I find it's more immerseve with a larger stereo field and panned tracks, but what happens when the angle of a shot changes? and you've got specific panning to the position of the water / sand? I imagine changing where the atmos tracks are panned back and forth as the shot changes, would be a bit rough on the ears.

    1. What’s specifically wrong with Presonus Studio One when it comes to editing sound for video?
    2. When recording sound on set, how many inputs would one need for basic sets that require maybe a boom and two or three lavs? I’m trying to decide between a mix-pre 3 and 6.
    3. Besides recording them, what else goes into SFX creation like whooshes, drones, and ambient tones?
    4. What lav recorders do you recommend? Have you heard of Tentacle Sync Track E recorders?
    5. I have a couple of XLR cables that make over-modulation noise in certain positions. Any solutions?
    6. Why are short shotgun mics better for indoors? Senheiser 416 vs Rode NTG5?

    Love to see something about sitting a dialogue deeper in the mix so it sounds more cinematic and less UA-cam-ish!

    What is the best but not over the top price microphone for music recording off my speaker? Thanks

    Really appreciate the input. Especially when knowing little about sound it helps tons. I would had loved some sounds examples according to their explained behavior. Thanks for your time🔥🔥🔥

    Have you tried Sony PCM D-10? (Not 100)

    • @axk
      @axk  4 роки тому

      Yes. Not up to par with the 100 or even the 50. Not sure what happened but it’s not something I’d recommend!

    Is this doable for non experts within DaVinci resolve?

    • @axk
      @axk  4 роки тому

      Yes! The Fairlight tab allows you to control all these same parameters for panning.

    I'd love to see a video on industry standard metadata; I didn't even know that was a thing, lol.
