- Опубліковано 19 бер 2022
- After participating in one of our many off-road adventures, our friend Craig (another Craig) got bitten by the off-roading bug and decided he wanted his own off-roader ASAP!!
He bought a V6 Touareg and basically gave us the reigns to turn his humble family SUV into an off-road beast!
That's TWO Craigs we have in our exclusive Touareg off-road club now!

Ciao
Ho un Touareg 3.2 V6 benzina del 2003
Che sto modificando per il fuoristrada (fango,neve.ecc.)
Come posso fare per comprare gli adesivi .
Grazie ,
Nothing wrong with the longer updates mate (perfect for watching with ya breakfast) .
Loved the longer video, enjoyed it with a sandwich and a cup of tea! This thing looks the absolute business, I've been looking into building one for summer and seeing vids like this makes me excited to do so!
Loved the sound. Can't wait to see the budget build 👍
Great video, ideal length for a brew and relax. Looks ace!
I can't believe I watched the whole video. that Touareg is too nice looking. awesome offroad build.
That truck is ready for the Outback or Southwest USA! Love it! Can't wait to see it off road 🍻
My personal preference is a long video you can sit down and have a cup of tea and watch this nice work guys
Great video and no issues with the length of it. 👍
Easy Sunday morning viewing... Reyt then
Loved this video lads.
Super 👌 vidéo 👍. Le Touareg, une légende 👍😉
I own a WJ Jeep and I've heard these VW's have lockers in them plus a differential locker. They should be unstoppable
Awesome as usual!
I am really impressed with v6 sound 👌
Absolute wonderful work
Like the longer vid myself, but yeah realise most like a snappy sub 15. Good to mix it up!
Cracking build 😄
Sweet content mate and great work..defo prefer these longer vids and may be turn music down during time lapse lol
Looks mint!
I really enjoy your builds. One thing...when the music come on in the video ca you please have the same volume as when you are talking. Some of us use earbuds.
Cheers from Colombia South America
It's hard to regulate sometimes but we will try!
You need to get the kids to start the “my daddy’s cars faster than your daddy’s” rumour at school and before you know it every Chelsea tractor on the school run will have a darkside cooler hanging out the front bumper 😉
I'll try that, haha
longer build video was solid, love seeing all the before and after all come together in one video. Has anyone tried fitting your snorkel on a petrol v6? I'd love to pick one up for mine
The Airbox is the same so it can't be far off! If you get one we can help with fitment
great sounds good! its for sure on the list of needs
Great video.
The editor has a fantastic sense of humour the in-clips are blood spot on left me pissin myself, I even had to re-watch half the vid over from all the laughter.
Sounds mint 👌
I saw this driving through pontefract looked a beast
Longer videos are a great shout 👌 keepin them coming #touaregarmy
Sounds mint
Longer videos 35-45 mins are much, much more enjoyable! Please consider it for future! Regards
Great work chaps; fitting a hitchmax swing out tire carrier would be a better solution for the tire
That's the plan!
Love your work and the video is not too long at all but here's an idea @Darkside Developments... develop a snorkel that run inside the A frame and gets rid of the gastly looking ones done so far?
no room!
These would be a cool over-landing 4x4 with a diff lock or two added. Parts might be hard to get in certain parts. Really cool video.
Front diff locks coming!
@@DarksideDevelopments I know locally some of the V8's gassers came with locking rear diffs, but I dunno if the gear ratios match the v6 tdi though so not sure whether a rear swap would work or not
I miss-read a graphic on the side or back off one of the cars I thought is read Dark overland division
Son los mejores 👍🏽🤝🏼
Love it
Great video, awesome build! Well done! Where did you order the underbody skid plates from? I need a set for my V10.
We list them on our site!
@@DarksideDevelopments
Perfect, ordered!
Top 🙏☕👍 Danke schön
Is it for racing or for off road?
i like the long videos
I wonder if its possible to put a sequential or paddle shifters for that gearbox?
why?
If I'm not mistaken the Touareg's roof is rated for 100Kg of load. That tent and tire, plus a person up there...risky...
That's dynamic loading, static is usually much higher. Unless you plan to drive with people up there?
how much would the whole conversion cost today without the roof tent?
Drop us an email to sales@darksidedevelopments.co.uk with reg/vin and we can breakdown costs for parts and labour
Love the longer videos 👍🏼
Video was awesome pal. Great looking build. Made me want to buy a touareg now. Any advice?
Late V6 (2008 on) is the best to go for! Mk1 seems better than Mk2 so far.
@@DarksideDevelopments awesome thanks pal. Are they quite good off-road. I've always had hilux's
See for yourself - ua-cam.com/play/PLz_nHs7o9ueWne_WvAmh-VIlcIq1NQ5Aw.html
Been off roading loads
Thanks for this much appreciated. If I buy one I'll be coming to you guys to get it prepped.
@@DarksideDevelopments I've had my 2005 from new and it has only let me down twice, flat battery after one year and then the starter motor at year 12, still has the 5th to 4th gear downshift issue but it's not impaired it over 130,000 miles. What a car, wish I had taken more care of it though, too late now, may buy a later mark 1 c. 2010 right before they changed it and having learnt all the lessons there is from the mark 1. Thoughts?
Колеса огонь !!!!
Its so fucking beautiful i ve got touareg 2008 fsi 3.6 300hp v6 and ita awesome!!!!
Helloo, what is the size of the tent? And does it affect on driving, because the front part of the tent has no support from the bottom. I have a similar tent length 180 cm and I want to make sure it doesn't move while driving from all the airflow hitting under the front part of the tent. Thanks
The size of the tent closed is 127 x 215 x 21cm. Only thing it really affects whilst driving is mpg a little. Not had any problems with it moving, as long as it is fitted properly
@@DarksideDevelopments what about the drag, I'm guessing its more than the usual smooth shaped tents that help with the aerodynamics and the flow, because alot of air is trapped under yhe front exposed side of the tent right? Is it noticeable and annoying or you can live with it? Thanks
It's not really noisy and the Touareg uses only a little more fuel
Longer video good for me 👍
Hi bud what's the cost to make that sound ? i don't want it off road i just want that sound to be added. Thanks

Whete did u biy the fenders from??
www.darksidedevelopments.co.uk/products/safari-wide-wheel-arch-kit-for-volkswagen-touareg-7l.html
I do like what you are doing with Treg, I’m one of fan and 3.0tdi v6 2008 owner :) Lift kit seems like doesn’t help axle articulation, just lifting body. Is it impossible to apply a real suspension upgrade (coil spring etc) to provide long travel? Could you please give some info about lift kit you are using and (if possible) better suspension upgrade can be applied to Treg? I never seen a Treg like yours and loved them :)
Articulation is limited by the driveshaft. We can get upgraded Bilstein kits if required
There’s no axle in monocoque designs unless you are talking about the driveshaft.
It would be good to know that if better suspension upgrades (long travel & articulation) possible for Tregs with air suspension 👊
What size is the intercooler??
51mm (2") Inlet and Outlet
Intercooler Core Dimensions: 480mm x 235mm x 60mm
Overall Size Dimensions: 640mm x 235mm x 60mm
Are they standard Touareg roof rails ?
Aftermarket versions
Would u sell stock wheels from tis build ryan?
Yes email us ;)
what is total cost roughly to built this beast?
At least 10k with the tent etc
@@DarksideDevelopments is that total cost including labour?
how much did it cost him to convert the car?
Drop us an email to sales@darksidedevelopments.co.uk for a breakdown of cost
The 30 to 40 minutes videos are better, particularly when doing a build.
Are the 2008 3.0l V6 engines less powerful than the 2012 engines?
Yes, 2012 will be 240hp+ then 300 with a tune. These are 260s with a tune.
IT s not true depends on engine Code, there are Bks 225 HP and Casa 239 HP. Mine îs 2008 239hp with stage 1 reach now 300 HP 670 nm. You have done a great job with this v6 IT looks amazing.
I own the same model and i want to convert it into Off-Road Beast, is it possible to get those stuffs in Africa -or ship them to Tanzania 🇹🇿, East Africa?
We can ship to Tanzania!
@@DarksideDevelopments Thank you for your reply, is it possible to get an itemized invoice?
@Darkside Development - can i get an invoice for those parts?
The longer videos are better
I can’t seem to find the exhaust set up video!? ☹️
It's coming!
@@DarksideDevelopments that’s alright then! And can we get decats from yourselves for the V6 Touareg? Or are the not available yet? 😍
Merchandise is available here - www.darksidedevelopments.co.uk/merchandise/
How much does it cost to have this exactly same build on a v6?
Drop an email to sales@darksidedevelopments.co.uk for a full breakdown
It looks not bad mate but this building makes no sense to me. All that plastic around in front and rear, probably it falls apart in tough terrain. The wide tires without fenderflares will splash some mud all over the car and the big tire up on the rooftop tent makes quite a high center of gravity....and, how will you get that tire on the top if you are alone?
Send us your overland build. This is not a tough tracks build. Spare wheel is there just to keep the boot clear. We have a carrier for the rear in build. It has fender flares now.
So…. The tire stays on top of the tent… okey… can I see you opening the tent with the tire on it? Isn’t that gonna stress the hydraulics faster for the tent?
It opens fine. I doubt it would. It's a cheap part to replace in the future anyway
I prefer longer
Reyt then
Like.
Long or short form … Why wouldn’t you watch … ?
that spare tire above the tent is not ok
It's fine
👍👍👍👍👏👍
good morning how can i buy VW Touareg 4x4 stickers from you?
Your wheels stick out past the arch so you won't get an MOT
they dont
Too bad the Touareg has a lot of reliability issues.
What issues? We run them hard and have only had expected issues. Certainly nothing like a Land rover or similar
@@DarksideDevelopments I used to have a 2008 Touareg 2 and it had a lot of electrical, steering lock, water drainage in roof, starting issues with push button start, car would shut off going down the highway and not restart and coil packs went out. This all happened within the first 40k miles since new. I know there were some other things as well but can’t remember since it was so long ago.
Early models of any car can be a pain, petrol too!
@@keltecdan that's the reason I buy older cars and not new. The faults have been corrected or repaired already and you end up with a reliable car. Not always guaranteed but it usually ends up this way. New cars can have issues that only apply after realword usage and and older cars usually have had issues sorted out by previous owners or the manufacturer. Not only that but aftermarket and third party company's have solutions for known issues after a few years etc.
