I love this kind of roleplaying maybe some people might see this as a child's play but for me, this is like a cultural and historical event that brings you back to the medieval period as a warrior/knights damn!! I love this
If you dig deeper in this hobby, you realize how much work and how much skill is behind all this. Simple people mostly do not want to understand but fortunately they are not the ones who decide if we enjoy what we do or not.
At krigslive, you generally register as members in a group. But usually you can get in contact with different groups that can take you in, or(sometimes) the planners have a group set aside for people without their own unit. At most other larps you can usually just go as a single person if you want.
You know the elf where not controle by the general when, the only unit he dont move in the briefing of the battelmap, is the Elves marker, hell he never speak about them :) was a great KL
3 years late, but I believe they are just cap guns. They don't fire any projectiles, they just give off a little puff of smoke and make a little "bang."
@@joshydarroch I've never participated in a major LARP event before, but I'm fairly certain it's an honor system. I'm sure you understand it's kind of hard to have LARP firearms which are safe for use on the "battlefield." The closest I've seen are custom-built "nerf" guns which use the Rival balls, but even those are hard to make historically accurate, since having a muzzle-loaded priming and firing mechanism means the foam balls can get stuck if jammed down too far.
@@blam320 Yeah I've not noticed anyone being killed from this but maybe it's more of a flavour thing. Can't say I'd want to be in a unit of gunners with imaginary projectiles when you could all be another sword or pike regiment.
The guns are lore-accurate to Warhammer Fantasy, which is what they're roleplaying. Several of the game's races use guns, including the Empire of Man, the various Dwarf Holds, and Grand Cathay.

This is based on pre-modern warfare, medieval warfare would have been centuries prior

This is better than most LARP battles I've seen on YT
European LARP events (in my experience) are much higher quality in general - haven't tried LARP in Canada yet though, since moving here.

It's just a percussion cap in most cases, but regardless of the method it's just noise and smoke - no projectiles.
Sometimes it shoots a small coton ball. but depends on the type

Percussion caps, no projectiles. I think most of those types of guns are found at auction or similar second hand sources
